Eagles 3-2. Ware sacks Vick for a safety. Ryans intercepts a Romo pass and returns it to the 1 yd line where the Eagles are forced to kick the game winning FG after 3 unsuccessful attempts to score a TD. ohlord banghead

Tough call because both teams have similar issues.  Both teams turn the ball over a lot and have OL problems, but the Eagles OL is worse and we don't have DeMarcus Ware.  Cowboys defense seems better and more consistent as well.  Main factor, however, is I don't see any quit in the Cowboys so far, and I do in the Eagles.

Cowboys 23-16.

Well..... Foles finally played and wasn't too bad, but wasn't great either. Yes he threw a nice TD to a wide open Maclin, but also threw two ints, one was negated by a penalty but the other a pick six. Maybe reps with the first team will help him next week.

King Dunlap should not be on this team after yesterday. How many penalties did he have? 3? 4? And all of them hurt.

The D played like swiss cheese against the run, but really didn't give up too much in the passing game except for TD to Bryant and maybe one or two other plays.

5 straight losses. Don't know what to say. The writing is on the wall for Reid. Problem is who takes his place if he is fired? An unproven OC/DC in his first HC job or a HC with experience?

If you want to go with a HC with experience then I think you might want to go with Hue Jackson.  Yes Jackson was fired after ONE season but he finished the season with an 8-8 record and he was just ONE win away from winning the division.  So I don't think he had a fair shot when he was at Oakland.  I think he deserves another shot, what do you think?

I want Bill Parcells. I never see his name mentioned as a possible coach. This team needs a little more discipline. And Parcell's resume is stellar. Question is, would he leave his job with ESPN. Not many others that I feel comfortable replacing Andy with. Sean Payton would be another, but I don't think that he's going anywhere.

I don't think a proven guy or even a "hot" name will come here with Howie Roseman as the GM.  I know if I'm Bill Cowher or Bill Parcells and you're telling me boy genius will be my boss, I just LOL all the way to my next interview.

You just made the best argument for keeping Andy that I've seen yet. You know that Bill Cowher took 14 years to win a SB with the Steelers, right?

Yes, I know, and I'm not advocating for Cowher...even though I'd prefer him and his brand of smash mouth football over the Arena Football crap system Andy runs.  I don't think keeping a HC because your GM is so incompetent that no one you'd want would come here is sound logic.  Just saying any smart coach is going to look at the GM situation.  He's going to look at the disastrous drafts and free agent signings made by a guy not qualified to be a GM in the NFL, and say thanks but no thanks.

That's understandable. And even though I've never been an advocate of firing Andy, I'm beginning to believe that, that might be the only viable solution to our present problems. However, I'd argue that replacing the winningest coach in the history of the franchise for a coach who's of lesser quality is not sound logic.

I don't agree that the draft picks and FA signings of the last 2 years have been disastrous. Not to say that there aren't some of 'em that I haven't been really disappointed in. But we've made some great moves these past 2 years. This team has just been underachieving badly for that time period. I could understand the problems if I didn't believe that we had players who were good enough to win. I wouldn't even consider supporting letting Andy go in that case. But that's not the case. We have a team that should be capable of beating any team in the league, and they're obviously not. That's on the coaches. There have been no consequences to all these high priced players for the mistakes that they're making. Why should they bust their asses if they're still going to start and collect their paychecks no matter how badly they play. That's the reason that I'm beginning to believe that changing coaches is the only solution. I'm still reluctant to completely embrace the idea. I remember the pre-Andy years too vividly. Some of 'em weren't too pretty. But I'm completely against the idea of replacing Andy with someone that I'm not confident is going to be better than what we have now. You can change for the better or the worse. Obama's proof of that. I'm not interested in going from the frying pan into the fire. Unless I'm comfortable that the change that we make is going to be an improvement, I'd rather stick with Andy.

We've gotten virtually nothing from the 2010 and 2011 drafts...I don't know how you can catergorize them as anything less than disastrous.  Bobby April has been a successful ST coach everywhere he's been, but his units here are terrible, and bad ST are usually a function of lack of talented depth.

Green Bay Packers won a Superbowl with 15 guys from the opening day roster on IR.  I don't really want to here about our OL injuries being the reason we are 3-6.  Other than the OL, this team has been remarkably injury free...it's just that the talent is seriously lacking.

Great
. Except for the fact that you were talking about draft and free agent pick ups. And the last 2 years for those would be 2012 and 2011. And in 2012 we had one of the best drafts of any team in the league. Same with free agency in 2011. To complain because all haven't worked out as projected (Nnamdi stands out for me) is nothing more than monday morning quarterbacking. Hindsight's always 20/20. It's the fact that expectations were so high for the team because of the personnel that we added in the last 2 years that has everybody so frustrated. Andy should have been able to win with these players, and he hasn't. Therefore everybody, myself included at this point, blames the coaching. Andy doesn't seem to hold anybody accountable for the way they're playing. Why he'd keep Vick starting after the way he's played these past 2 seasons is beyond me. The cowboys did us a favor. At least now we'll get some kind of idea of whether Foles is capable of leading this team in the future or if we need to look at another QB in this years draft.

I never blamed the OL. If you look back through the threads, you'll find that I posted before any games (preseason or regular season) had ever been played, a message stating that even though I was optimistic about the team's chances this year, my biggest worry was that we were too thin at OL to survive any losses there. But I don't use that as an excuse. I've said it repeatedly last season and this. Mistakes have been killing us. Better play from the QB position and unbalanced play calling have been killing us. Without that changing we'll continue to lose. I've never said anything else. So I don't know what you've been reading. I've believed that all along and my opinion hasn't changed in the matter.

I  have a feeling that 8-8 or worse means Andy is gone. Keep Andy and fire Marty? Maybe bring in an OC that might want to mix more runs in.

Andy isn't just HC. Isn't he actually over Howie? President of Football Operations? Maybe relieve him of HC duties and hire new HC?

Yeah. So do I.

I'm afraid that Andy's too close to these players at this point. None of 'em seem to be being held accountable for their poor play. I just don't believe that they've all suddenly forgotten how to play the game. Andy just doesn't seem to know how to or be willing to change it.

Honestly, I don't know how it's set up. The reports were that Banner was let go so that Andy would have more control over those matters.

Maybe relieve him of HC duties and hire new HC?
Andy's record speaks for itself. But I've always had questions about his ability as a game manager. That being said, I'm still not eager or happy about letting him go. I'm sure that he'll have a new job very shortly after he leaves here. I'm just not sure if there's a better option at this point. This team is badly underachieving and something has to be done about it. A bunch of highly rated players who are not a good team. Maybe we've simply built a squad of mercenaries who don't care if we win or lose as long as they collect their paychecks.

Gg old friends. Sorry about your tough season. It'd be weird to see the Eagles without Reid. Good luck moving forward.
