IMPORTANT (MUST READ)
THIS BOARD WILL BE SHUT DOWN SHORTLY AND ANYONE THAT DOESN'T TAKE ACTION WILL BE STUCK IN LIMBO OR HERDED TO SOME SITE THAT'S STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

They canceled the migration until after the season because of all the fk ups and complaints.....the scout boards will be around at least till after the Super bowl .....

The board isn't shutting down it is having to many glitches for the new site that they have postponed the migration for now and will be working on fixing all the glitches and bugs for the remainder of the season .
So post here still if you want to post over to the new Raider Board Room site or just post on both of them .
Site will be here for a little while longer for you all to do as you want with it .

Scout is actually more of a "college" sports site.
They are waiting until after "signing day" which is in Feburary before the switch to Fox Next.
Too many subscribers to the college sites were having issues so Fox said we will revert back to Scout until after signing day.
It does not have as much to do with the NFL because I do not think there are near as many paid subscribers to the NFL sites as there are the college sites.
Never argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

I belong to the Ohio State scout board and they were talking about it. I also visit some other college scout boards for recruiting, talking about recruits and what colleges they may choose. Anyway the college base of PAID subscribers is HUGE. The Ohio State board alone has over 2500 users online all day long almost and most are paying 99$ a year.
So Fox was losing MANY 99$ subscribers and went back before the losses added up big time.

It looks good. I have a few problems with the layout but they are minor since it's a free forum. If not, I'd donate to keep it alive and ask for a few improvements.
It might just be my browser but, under the usernames, our avatars are not in line like they are all centered and it pushes out the member box area when it could be tighter to create more room for the actual posts/images/videos/etc.
Also, quoting a post doesn't look the cleanest after the response is posted. The quotes have a bunch of lines around them and the quotes are squeezed together. It could use some spacing to make it easier on the eyes or maybe we can manually space them ourselves to improve that.
This all could be from my browser of choice though and not what you guys see. I tether my phone to my laptop to get around my blocked work internet to view the boards. My cell phone company wants to charge me $15 more a month for tethering but I use a work around for Android. When I open a browser, I must change the user agent of the browser to trick my data supplier into thinking that I'm browsing from a mobile device and not my laptop. Basically, I force FireFox to have a user agent of my Android Phone to fool my mobile company and then I usually have to force it to view the desktop versions of sites and not the mobile versions. This could mess with layouts and such since it's not exactly a smooth transition.
Most of the functionality of the new board does not work with this setup so I haven't had a chance to see the new features yet. I have to get on the site when I'm at home on my regular computer to fully check it out.
Anyway, sorry for being so long winded. The new forum is good enough and looks good for the most part. Lol.

The avatar issue isn't your browser, that's how they line up and EROK and I have not looked into it yet.
The main focus was to get everybody from here over to there. That seems to be wrapping up so now we are looking into tweaks and such to make the board better for everyone both visually and functionally.
Any suggestions or thoughts can be posted in the Technical Issue forum over there, it's the best place for it as we both check it daily.

Everything Scout does is driven by LOI (letter of intent) day. Initial plan was convert during Football season to have the minor quirks out by LOI day; everything blew up so bad they had to delay.  I recommend getting established at the new site Erok and EC are providing - without a publisher these forums could disappear without warning. The key to knowing where you're going is knowing where you've been, with a chance to look back and forward with equal clarity. |

We have to learn more about how to make changes, but we will make them as fast as we can. The quote system is better now. I made changes to make it more visible. There are also tweaks for mobile we are looking at as well. |
