Yanks had the bats cranking and the Phils couldn't keep it going, but it was a fun series to watch, unlike some of theses Sunday PM fiascos I've  been trying to stomach..

Damn Matsui kiiled the Phils last night.  Phillies had a nice run and a good season.  Hope Hamels gets his head together this off season.  No reason the Phils can't make it back next season.  But like you Cactus Raiders are my first love.  No other team can come close.  Congrats.

if I dont have a favorite team in a sport, I always go for the underdog. Also, Im really dissapointed that barry bonds was black balled by the MLB, then you have a-rod lie to the public and media, eventually admit he used roids, and all is forgiven almost immediantly...

I agree with you. I was talking about that with some friends last night after the game. Personally, i hope Bonds gets into baseball again by being a hitting coach. He helped a number of the Giants young hitters the last couple years he was playing. Maybe that could help his status with the writers by giving back to the game?

And if arod is going to get into the hall, so should bonds and all the others that have the numbers to get in that used roids.

An east coast hero, who is still playing for the yankees admits to steriods, all is brushed under the rug, and the steroid talk is ended.....but when it was bonds, he had needles thrown at him and was booed...it was a media circus...and no team would sign him...

There is no honor in this championship.  this team didn't work their asses off to acheive greatness.  They bought up almost every great player available.

You still have to be able to put it all together, but being able to always get the best FA's in baseball, definantly helps your chances.

In football, teams like the redskins always go after proven FA's...but they still have to be under the same salary cap as everyone else.

There were a couple big FA guys this year in baseball...the yanks landed both of them. The redskins get one big FA every few years.....Every year the yankees get the top 2-3 FA's in the game, and when you do that a few years in a row, you pretty much have elite players at every position.
