I gotta say that last night was very disappointing.  Was at the game and thought we would pull it out after the8th.  Lidge one strike away from retiring the side but Damon had a great at bat.  Still not dead.  Phillies need to take it one game at a time.  Lidge is done in my opinion.  I sat in front of three most obnoxious fans I have ever sat near in my entire life of going to sporting events.  They did everything they could to be annoying.  DocdJr had to restrain me from smacking them, which was probably the wise move.  It is those kind of idiots that contribute to my hatred of the Yankees.  I admire all their tradition and greats etc., but with their payroll they should win it 9 out of 10 years.  And as much as I hate the Celtics I have to give them the early nod to win it all.  I actually like KG, Allen and Rasheed, but damn do I hate that loud mouth Pierce.

Cactus, how does one become a Celtics and a Yankee fan...makes no sense to me.  I would think you would be either a Red Sox, or a Knick fan.

I hear what you are saying Cactus but in football the salary cap levels the playing field.  And just because I say I "Hate" a player does not mean I do not respect him.  I hated Elway too but we all know the guy was great.  If he were a Raider, as he was supposed to be, we would all love him.  Just hometown partiality.  But there is a certain smugness if you will with the Yankees, probably from all that tradition.  But these guys behind me were over the top obnoxious.  Purposely trying to be as annoying as they can.  But let us not forget that it is only a game.  We, or at least I do, tend to sell out emotionally to these teams and then take things personal.  Guess it is our passion coming through.  It is only a game.  I agree the Phils probably win tonight with Lee.  If they do the next game will be interesting, Pedro in New York again.  problem is the Phillies are not getting hits when they need them.  I think they have at least 6 solo homeruns.  Howard has vanished.  Good luck to your squad there Cactus!

Football is my only drug....but now that it's time for a beer, I'll get the bluegill out that I cleaned and get them ready for dinner. My wife will watch the game, even tho it doesn't matter to her who wins. I watched the SD game locally in DFW and it looks like we need experience in the worst way....3 points isn't going to make it. The perfect polish cannon doesn't even get his kudos but JR is still the butt end of all the jokes here. But sanity has to be a personal thing. Maybe it is true that God helps them that helps themselves and we won't be right until it all comes together but I seem to be doing real good in life. So, I have to look at the brighter side from this angle.

Baseball is too slow for me. Waiting for the ball to go right thru the strike zone only to be called a ball or a ball to be called a strike. These guys don't have to go far to see how biased they are right behind the catcher.

Basketball is to tall for me. I mean, a guy can have a really off night, where he can't make a basket for his life. Then, there are only 11-12 guys? Making how much each?

Hockey needs flags for unsportsmanlike brawls that would never go in the NFL. Then, it is an international sport, like soccer(futbol), rugby, more like it. I cvould watch rugby, if they televised it...but then what would I get done if I just sat around watching sports all my life. I'm learning how to put my Mustang back together after having it in pieces for a few years. That gives me some real life satisfaction as I see a beautiful thing taking place.

But my karma seems to be dumping a whole lotta spare change at me lately...and i am too busy to come and biatch at the board! Miss me? I wonder how phan  is doing? It seems like the sane thing to do is to DO SOMETHING with your life...if you only have one...

Baseball is berry berry boring ......to me, can't you see, he-e-e-e. Your everything I hoped for...your everything I need....You...are...so...beautiful...to me....dang me, where's my guitar. i put new strings on it and stuck it back in the corner...that's a 41 sin...Mustang first, there'll be plenty of time at the beach when the motorhome is done....

Its most definitely gonna go the 6 games like most have been saying.  We shall see if seven is gonna be the lucky number or not for someone.

Game 6 should be interesting.  Pedro will give the Yankee faithful something to (Bronx) cheer about.  It's amazing how one player has such a rivalry with another team.  Will Petit have enough rest?  What happens if there is a game 7?  Great series so far.  And yes this is a Raiders board but we can deviate from that topic, especially with the way this team is playing heading into the bye week.  So I care who Cactus likes, even if he is misguided!

Not necesarrily but a guy with over 7,000 posts who has offered his insight for several years, yes I think of him as a legend.
