Re: Trojans just got a beat down

Oh I dunno Oregon only had 600 yrds in total offense, 31 1st downs, and close to 400 on the ground, man I wish the  BCS would pull their collective heads out of their asses and realize that Texas will destory any SEC opponent they throw at them, and that the Ducks/Longhorns would be a very good NC game...

Re: Trojans just got a beat down

big 12 never gets any love in football or basketball.

There are so many good teams in the big 12 in basketball this year, I dont want to hear about UNC and DUKE all damn year!

UNC is pretty dang high in the polls considering they lost hansborough, ellington and Lawson!

Good recruiting class coming in, im sure, but top 5? im not so sure on that...

KU, TX, TX a&m, OSU, OK, Mizzou and KSTATE are all fielding really good teams this year...Gonna be some quality b-ball! all are either in the top 25, or recieved votes to be there...

Im always glad to see a underdog win, and especially one that the media has their mouth all over....

Florida has been handed games...I would like to see texas in the ship! I dont care what SEC team they beat up on! biggrin

Re: Trojans just got a beat down

Well the Jayhawks are sitting at #1 in BB right now, and there should be some really good hoops played in the conference this year, me and my son go down to Stillwater for 4 or 5 games a year, and the Mizzou game down there last year was bizzare as hell, 96-91 in  regualtion, it was the highest scoring game ever played in GIA, man I was gassed just watching them guys run up and down the court, the shot clock was not needed, and the way that Texas is playing defense right now I can't see anyone beating them, but a Oregon matchup would be very entertaing, but the screwy assed system will give us another overhyped blowout, but I guess seeing Tebow getting knocked around would be worth it...

Re: Trojans just got a beat down

I hope the rest of the ncaa football season plays out the way its suppose to, so that there isnt any real big debate on who should be in the championship. I hate that shyt!

I remember that basketball game pretty well...that was a damn good game to get to see in person! Lucky you! biggrin

Its nice to be a fan of a team that wins year in and year out. Helps keep me sane. IMO the hawks were gonna be the preseason #1 with collins and aldrich returning, with the young guys from last year that were pretty good as well.

Then you add in the #2 overal recruit in the nation?

damn.

Gonna be a good year for them, and with the tough conference, should be battle ready for the tourney.

I dont really have a favorite nba or mlb team, but since the thunder are so close, I think they'll end up being my nba team, and I really like Durants game.

eek1    CRACK     eek1 is really bad for you my friend. There is a reason why it is called SEC (Speed earns Chanpionships)! Longs horns will look like Hawaii did  a few years ago against Georgia. Yea they will hang around for a minute then the speed will start to get to them. The qucik passes to Shipley are good but when you have LB and DE just as fast. Nope wont happen. Oak St is not a good enough gauge to say they will beat "any" SEC team. Your movebored1

Stop looking at the Saturday night game against Oak St. (lights and all the hype) and understand Ohio State, Texas, Texas Tech, have tried and failed when it comes to Coaching, Team Speed, Scheme, Defense, and of course better athletes!

You can coach...tackling, catching, reading Defense, Offense etc....

But once an Athlete always an Athlete!

SEC......bleeds Athletes!

Florida, lsu, and most likely Alabama would all beat Texass. I do like TCU though.Oregon beat USC, big deal they are one of the most over rated teams in college football this year, if BSPN and Collin Coward didn't keep sucking Pete Carrolls Dyck, they wouldn't be in the top ten.

they both have the same first name, and thats where the comparisons end.

mccoy > brennen

Overall team speed dont mean shyt, need evidence? Look no further than our team.

Texas is ten times more talented than hawaii was.

What we have in Raiderville is disorganized speed? When Coached right and players are utilized to their full potential, it can get pretty ugly! Next week Texas play's a low level UCF, they have some speedsters on this team...no where near the speed of LSU, FLORIDA, OLE MISS..but willl be a nice little test. Remember we have speed but used in the worst, insane ways known to man. Crabtree has 10 catches to day alone for 90 something yards? Well used speed and game planned.

Not a big Texas Fan but have to chime in on this one. Next to Florida, Texas has the best talent on the roster top to bottom in division 1 football. The defense is top ranked and made up of mainly sophmores, so you can expect more of the same for the next two seasons. Recruiting at Texas is pretty much second to none other in division 1. You want to compare Hawaii to Texas based upon name similarities good luck with that one. Pretty sure that Texas will be playing in the mythical national championship this year probably against Florida.

You need to look at Texas' record over the last 10 seasons before you speak.

SEC BREEDS ATHLETES ??? Ya mean ones liek Russell, Murphy, and McFadden ???  Then someone brings up Crabtree and he played where ???? Wes Welker WHERE ???  Adrian Peterson is Big 12 as well, All I'll say is with any luck Dez Bryant will fall our way, and if you would open your eyes you would see that the SEC is obviously protecting FL and AL,  and as far as defense goes I can't wait to see Tebow flat on his ass wondering why the refs are not throwing flags to help his ass out..

Re: Trojans just got a beat down

Those 6 examples are cherry picked by you to support your argument.

Eli Manning and Peyton Manning went where?  How many Big 12 QBs have won Super Bowls in the last 10 years?

Louis Murphy looks like crap but Percy Harvin looks great.  That kinda makes the Crabtree argument a wash.

Knowshon Moreno looks like a player.  Michael Oher is a player.  Glen Coffee on the Niners.  Albert Haynesworth, John Henderson, Jamal Lewis, Lito Sheppard, Charles Grant, Richard Seymour, Marcus Stroud,  etc etc

In 2007, the SEC had 263 players on opening day NFL rosters while the Big 12 had 167.

Acting like the the Big 12 is above the SEC in terms of talent is foolish.  Offensively, the Big 12 does offer some nice prospects but the SEC still sends players from all positions into the league.  However, the bigger margin really shows up defensively and it's funny that you only picked offensive players from the Big 12.

defensive big 12 players:

casey hampton, kevin williams, pat williams, shaun rodgers, aaron ross, quentin jammer just to name a few off the top of my head.

Last year, you wouldnt have hear me saying that texas was better than florida...this year, they are, imo.

Re: Trojans just got a beat down

Couple of defensive players for you to pay attention to on Texas.

Aaron Williams # 4

Earl Thomas  #12

Both Sophmores, Thomas IMO is the best safety in the country right now.

Like I said before, this defense is young, fast and can tackle, most of them are sophmores. Texas defense will be dominate for the next two years. Only other defense as good as Texas right now is Florida.

RE: Trojans just got a beat down

I think you're all missing the bigger picture here. IOWA is undefeated! Although I've about died of a heart attack in nearly every single game thus far.

I hope LSU beats Bama and Florida so that my Hawkeyes get a chance for the BCS Championship. That's assuming we hold out against Ohio State. I mean, how can you go undefeated in the Big 10 and not get a shot and the title?

College football needs a damn playoff already.
