well it official.

well it official.

Matt Schaub is our week one starter as reported by n.f.l network. There is no q.b controversy according to coach Allen. Well guys, hope for the best and prepare for the worst because once again, we ( meaning Frankenberry ) signed up for yet another terrible year and possibly the 1st overall pick next year. Im guessing Allen is prepared to be fired and Reggie gets one more year of excuses. Ill go ahead and thank Reggie and Schaub in advance for our 3 win season

DA painted himself into a box by announcing this the first week Schaub was signed.

You really think DA had any say in it?

And just another in a line of stupid things DA says. There is a no QB controversy at the QB position according to DA, but according to the rest of the world there is an EVERYTHING controversy with the Raiders.  Allen is an idiot who should not open his mouth to the media because the more he does, the stupider it makes him sound. Humble thyself Mr. 2 - 4-12 seasons guy. Humble thyself Mr. "Flynn is our starter day one" before he played a down in pre season.

Re: well it official.

Good I'm glad that's f*n over with.  I heard the Giants think Eli can play QB? Whats up with that?  Don't they know he had 18 TD and 27 picks?  He is also a 33 year old has been.  Maybe they think last season was an aberration.

So Schaubbie is as old as Eli.  Matty had a +90 passing rating five years in a row until last year, where he had a 73.0.

Pryor last year had a 69.1
McGloin last year had a 76.1.

Yet some posters here say McGloin is the man.  I was watching the NASCAR race Sunday and they were talking about the prodigy, Joey Logano, who was mixing it up with the big boys at 18 years old.  His nickname was "sliced bread"  as in the greatest thing since.

McGloin isn't Johnny Football.  His resume isn't as impressive.  McGloin's first start was 197 yards 3/0.  Then his last five starts, though he threw for over 200 yards in each he only managed throwing more TD's then picks once.

So team continuity is most guaranteed when the QB is decided.  I'm pretty sure Hue had Palmer marked as the savior before he knew a Oakland players name or face.  Matt at least knows that.

So I'll say it now before a regular game plays and I will wait to be proven wrong.  I am expecting big things from Schaubbiepirate  Here is The Man a couple years ago.  His skills can't have depleted that much in two years.

Eli was a superbowl MVP twice. His career may be over but none of that matters when talking about Schaub. And it's possible that Schaub's skills have depleted over the last few years just like Eli's - except for the rings. And with so many talented targets to throw to, how can he loose? noidea

I think when people say "McGloin is the man" all that means is that until Carr is ready, he's the best option. It doesn't mean that anyone in their right mind thinks that McGloin will lead us to a Lombardi.

Re: well it official.

Ill never forget what someone told me about players who aged. When they lose a step, its not just one step but many and thats what I see in Schaub. Yes he once, ....once was a decent player but has no legs or arm to throw down field as it seems and were supposed to believe the hype on this guy just having a bad year? Sorry, but flava flav might have been right when he told us to dont believe it. Again, biggest problem and one reason and Mabey the biggest one since frankenberry took over imo is he never has rebuilt. Only recycling has been type players who never really were while wiffing come day. If he would have just been honest and said " listen, were going to rebuild with young guys so please be patient " and we had a 1-15 cowboy type season fine...but instead he acts as if were only a Flynn or Schaub away from a super bowl birth and some guys here believe it. The only thing I believe about Reggie since he took over is he is not even who he thought he was.

I'll address your point because the guy below you and flavaflav i can't underf**stand.  Rings are comprised from teams and coaches.  Eli was great in the SB and took down the mighty Patriots twice.  Who has done that?

But I can't figure where the HATE comes from for this team.  I mean you back your team at least until the season starts don't you?  Football is a team game and we have more talent then we had 2 or three years ago.  If not it was going to crumble anyway.  Anyone old enough to remember that the 49ers that smoked the unicorns had a few tough years once salary cap problems caught up with them?

Next post from me is to find the "predict the season record"

If anyone doesn't have the balls to make a prediction... then I have little respect for their opinion anyway.

Re: well it official.

Plunk, I respect everyone's opinion here. While I hope you are right about Schaub, I just dont see if it truly was a " off year " for him why the Texans were so eager to let him walk. Eli had just as bad or worse and the giants stand behind him thats all im saying. @ flava flav; its an old character from public enemy....I was half way joking on that line.
