Didn't Expect a Win

Didn't Expect a Win

If you watched the first 10 minutes there was no way you'd expect to see them win; and that of course was the starters.....

Offensive line sucked wind, got pushed around, couldn't create a running opportunity.   Defense secondary might as well blitz.

What I doubt anyone will give credit too is the OC/DC for figuring things out, adjusting and pulling out a win.

Re: Didn't Expect a Win

The Raiders 1st team offense came out flatter than they did in the the first game against Minn. I know Detroit has a strong defensive front but come on.... They pushed the Raiders O line back 5 yards on every play. Collapsed the pocket before there was even a pocket to begin with. I was surprised the Raiders actually used Marcel Reece  for a couple plays - considering he's the best player on offense.
I thought the secondary was supposed to look better now that Branch was back. Wrong. They look worse than last year. I don't know why anyone thinks Branch is any good. I've been saying the same thing since he's been with the team. I've showed clips of why he sucks. Yet still, there are people out there who think he's good enough to play in the NFL. The Raiders franchised that?
The same thing happened last week where the starters looked bad but the younger 2-3rd teams looked much better than the opposition.

Actually last nights game might have been the best coached in some time. Coordinators made solid calls, adjusted on both O and D and made it possible to and did win.

Also I thought once Schaub went to the bench the other q.b's played with passion. I was really impressed with the way Carr moved around and threw the ball. He has a live arm imo as it looked like he was throwing darts. His decision making was not too bad as well for a rookie. I thought both him, and Mcgloin played with a lot of poise. The gesture Mcgloin made ( to the coaches I assume ) after throwing the game winner was priceless. My best guess is Schaub will be benched or cut by week 6

The first unit played like they are just trying to get through preseason healthy.  Our DB's were getting burned all over the field.  Are we playing a zone?

I'm not sure what the defense is called when two defenders rush to the receiver only to both stop in their tracks 2 feet away, and a second later the WR catches the ball. I think they call it the "lazy" defense or the Tyvon Branch defense.
