RAIDERS WON'T ASK FOR EXTENSION ON STADIUM....

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis has not asked for an extension on the team's deal with O.co Coliseum and does not plan to ask for one, reports Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle

The Raiders' lease with the stadium expires at the end of the season.

Tafur reports that there hasn't been any progress made in talks between the Raiders and the city of Oakland in recent weeks, and that Davis is stepping up his pursuit of finding a new stadium elsewhere, with the NFL's support.

Los Angeles and San Antonio are two potential landing spots for the Raiders. Davis visited San Antonio last month to discuss the possibility of relocating the team there.

Davis told the Chronicle the meeting was "a serious conversation," but added "we continue to try to get something done in Oakland."

Oakland is currently participating in joint practices with the Cowboys in the city of Oxnard, which is located in Southern California.

Magic Johnson, who co-owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, said Tuesday that he believes L.A. will have an NFL team again within two years,  AND SAID THE CITY AND THE NFL ARE "ON BOARD" WITH THAT TEAM BEING THE RAIDERS....

What's up with the city of Oakland?
Are they tired of the Raiders?
Or is just that the city councle just don't like the Raiders?

Interesting. Last things I read sounded like Oakland was trying to trap the Raiders into staying but playing in the existing coliseum as is with no hope of rebuilding a new one and that L.A. politicians specifically said the Raiders were one NFL team they didn't want and that the NFL is siding on keeping the Raiders in the Bay Area and putting a different team in L.A. Who knows.

Yeah,  what you heard was the same thing that I heard!
And I was wondering just what Magic Johnson would know about it?
Guess only time will tell.

City is run by idiots.

The biggest thing they need is for the city / county to own it. Why? 1% property tax is why. $1 billion stadium needs $10 million a year in property tax unless it's muni property. That is $1 million a game incl pre season. At 62,500 fans that's $16 each a ticket just for property taxes.

Hmm...lets ask the rocket scientists.....should we play where a city doesn't care enough about its facility to fix a sewer line that floods a locker room, or should we play where they'll privately build a brand new stadium to league standards without complaint....hmmm...shocking
