Re: Poll: Stoping the run

Got this from Pro-football reference. The last 4 seasons, the Raiders have ranked
2010 - 20th
2011 - 29th
2012 - 28th
2013 - 29th
in stopping the run.

Re: Poll: Stoping the run

I thought (just recollection) we started off great last year defensively and then went to hell relatively quickly; not sure if it was just the other teams figuring us out or what it was?

Clearly Tarver like all others job is on the line.  He was given all but 2 draft picks including the top pick.  He in fact has two top picks not too mention some decent free agent signings.   If he can't deliver with what RM delivered he'll cost himself and DA a job.

opps, my bad. I was looking at total defense although depending on where you look (or I guess how they compile the stats) they are different. Ex. I looked up total defense on 3 different sites. One said 29th, one said 26th and one said 25th. noidea

Yeah, as I remember the Raiders led the league in sacks for I think the first 3 weeks of the season. I noticed a change after the first few starts. The Raiders weren't doing anything interesting, their blitzes weren't disguised, no tricks at all.

Re: Poll: Stoping the run

stopping the run was 13th and yards per game were 13th (107)

With Sims, and more depth should see an improvement on that, which is the highest rank since we were a Super Bowl contender

Re: Poll: Stoping the run

We started off good last season until injuries and as the season dragged on we had no depth. We had players that where not starters on other teams starting for us. Some of our players played more downs than they ever have and it took a toll on them they where wore out right after mid season.
