2013 Draft/Trade Scenarios

2013 Draft/Trade Scenarios

From what I see our best trading partners are teams with multiple 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks. That leaves St Louis and Miami. Miami is currently at 11. If they wanted to trade up to our 3 we could take their 11th overall pick + their first second round pick (They have 2) and their (2) third round picks. This is a fair trade according to the value table. Picking at 11 is perfect position to draft one of the top CB's Milliner or Banks. We would have then made up for the second rounder we lost in the Palmer trade and also wind up with a total of (3) 3rd rounders. With the second round pick we could target LSU MLB Kevin Minter. In the third I like OT Ricky Wagner, DE Michael Buchanon and CB Desmond Trufant.

We need CB's and O line bad.  i don't think WR is a need.  We have Jacoby coming back, but if you don't give your QB time it doesn't matter who's running routes. confused

RE: 2013 Draft/Trade Scenarios

As much as we would all like to get back to even .500 from the glory days of Cable and Hue, this isn't a 1 year fix. Future draft picks are fine too, and generally easier to get higher picks. I wouldn't limit ourselves to just trading with St. Louis and Miami.

I think in the 1st round we need to take best player available, and not worry about position because we could use upgrades at all 22 positions. Mid rounds, we should go defense, and late in the draft I would load up on OL prospects. We also have free agency to shore up some weaknesses too. I'd look at some veteran CB there.

Our defense has been better of late without McClain. Do we have our future  MLB now with Gaither or do we look for one still? Our secondary needs help, but our main need is at OL. And Offensive Coordinator. Do we need a running back? One who can run the ZBS?
