Who do you want as next years OC list top 5 wish list

Who would be the best replacement  our OC next year? I'm not sure so i'd like some suggestions if you guy won't mind. I say list 1in order 1-5 shotty seems ass backwards 2 me. We run good then 3 pass plays in a row over and over, week after week, year after year eek1! I just dont get it. We got swept by the freakin fish! Thats a disgrace for any jet fan  (GCE) loose the titans. WE ARE THE JETS!!!!!

-Bill Callahan- The guy was monstrous as the OC for the Raiders with Gruden as coach.

-Cam Cameron-Perfect OC for Mark. He always plays to QB's strengths.

!!!!!Let's keep our heads high fellow Jets fanatics!!!

"We run good then 3 pass plays in a row over and over, week after week, year after year". That is my biggest problem with Shotty and his not adjusting play calling. He does so good sometimes and then he will go and ruin it by his play calling.

I am hoping they get rid of Shotty before the next game but I know that wont happen so we will have to wait for next year.

I want Brian Schottenheimer to remain.  He's doing an outstanding job with a 22 year old rookie.  I don't think we as fans truly appreciate how difficult it is to win in the NFL with a rookie QB, even one as talented as Sanchez.

It would be a mistake to replace Schotty.  The offense did not lose yesterday's game.

J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

I dont think shotty lost the game for us yesterday at all! He sure didnt win it for us either. I understand as a fan how hard it is 2 win in the NFL i also understand how easy it is 2 lose in the NFL with the play calling that shotty has been calling. everyone has their own opinion but in mine i see a glaring weakness in our offense of play calling. when the running game is dominating and pass protection is not up 2 par in a close game KEEP RUNNING IT DOWN THEIR THROAT 2 set up passes which the D does not have their ears pinned back giving the rookie some more time because sanchez is great at playaction. I would like to see Wyche actually. He had a return with the Bills a while ago. He's developed QB's and he is innovative. The WC offense is perfect for MS.

What about the ramifications of stunting the growth of sanchez learning a second offense in two years.

If a change is made it better be in house to keep some continuity

If anyhting I would rather see them bring in CHad P as QB coach to work with MArk, That is if CHad is finished playing

i would like to see Callahan become the OC.  And to fill the void at O-line coach, Mike Solari, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs.  He was O-line coach in KC from 1997 until 06.  Herm promoted him to O-coordinator and he was one of the guys let go by Haley this year.  He was obviously not O-coordinator material, but coached the O-line that made guys like Priest Holmes and LJ pro-bowlers.  Apparently he's looking to land somewhere next season as an O-line coach again...

Callahan, love his use of the RB pass catching out of the Back field, anyone remember Charlie Garner from a fantasy value or offensive production for that matter (99,2000,2001)... the guy had ridiculous all purpose yards.

I'm torn ? If we keep Shotty, it keeps stability and not another change. Change takes time for everyone to adapt to.

If Callahan as OC, we lose a great OL coach who has to be replaced.

Maybe we dump Cavanah as QB coach, and bring in Chad Pennington, and at the same time give Shotty one more year to prove himself, while we groom Chad as our future OC ? There is no smarter football mind out there, than Chad IMO.

Go Jets...Cyborg

+1 I think Chad will be an excellent coach, if he's up for it. I could see him as a HC one day.

Lets be real...Chad Pennington will not be ready to be an OC in the NFL by 2011!!  Id love him as some sort of consultant, or asst QB coach, but its unrealistic to think he could hang it up and a year and half later be an OC in the NFL.

Wow. I don't have an OC wishlist, but I wouldn't give the job to Pennington. I'd need more than his reputation as a nice guy, career as a Jet, and the fact that he was a finalist for the Rhodes Scholly in college to ride on. Marshall Faulk talks football better than any retired football player I've ever seen. Ask all his former coaches and teammates about his football mind and they'll likely tell you that he often suggested to them plays and techniques that they've found to be extremely helpful later on during games. Still, I wouldn't give it to him either. Coaching is a different animal. Our next OC should at least have EXPERIENCE calling plays and/or molding QBs in college. Speaking of college, Oklahoma's Kevin R. Wilson or Boise State's Bryan Harsin would be excellent choices to replace Schotty if Ryan were to go that route for his next OC, but the job will likely go to Cavanaugh imo.

We all know the deal, come on guys. Callahan?

Rex has made it pretty clear that our next OC will be Matt Cavanaugh.

RE: Who do you want as next years OC list top 5 wish list

It's not shocking that we have the 27th ranked passing offense with a rookie QB. It's also not a surprise that Sanchez took a nose dive when he lost his top three receivers in the span of seven days. That being said we do have the top rushing offense in the league and while Schotty has made some mind numbing mistakes he's also done a lot of things right. To me you don't throw out the baby with the bath water, Rex just needs to learn that it's ok to overrule a play call in critical situations if he see's what we all do at times.
