I can see that except switch Patterson and Wilson.

Agree ...   either / or (not both) on the team. I picked Wilson because he worked his way into being a decent nickle.

Look where we are. We have raised the bar high enough that McIntyre and Bellore are on the bubble. Outstanding job of drafting IMO. Same thing goes for safety. I bet teams will drool if Miles or Jarrett are cut. But I can't agree with you on Wilson, time to cut bait IMO.

Gonna be hard to keep 26 (or 27) Defensive players. Some good players are going to have to be cut on the defensive side

I picked Brandon Hardin over Mile or Jarrett ( whom I like both) because of his size, speed, hard hitting and tremendous upside  ....  http://www.profootballweekly.com/prospects/player/ brandon-hardin-17/

Oh I don't disagree with you King. Like Sarge said. We're going to have some tough cuts to make on D. What's the minimum number of players do we need to keep on Offense? LOL

Picking Patrick and Dowling over Patterson is a gutsy call, but could turn out to be true

I believe McDougle starts game #1 throughout the season.

Re: My Projection on the 2014 NY Jets Opening Day - Defensive

The fact that Wilkerson & Richardson can slide inside and Coples, Babin & Pace can all put hand on the ground - tells me the numbers will NOT allow the carrying of both Ellis and Barnes - only one probably - Ellis will be kept as Harrison's backup(although Ellis is in the last year of K which may factor into it since its doubtful the team will be able to resign him - so if both play well this summer - its not inconceivable Ellis could be traded)...... also very tough not to see 5th round pick George making the 53

You make 2 points .....
1)  tough not to see 5th round pick George making the 53 .....  I felt the same until camp & preseason started ...  this guy sucks ,  maybe we will put him on practice squad

2)  TJ Barnes is another story he has freakish size, strength & quickness ...  I am sure Rex Ryan does not want to see him on some other team playing against him for the next 5 to 8  years.

Re: My Projection on the 2014 NY Jets Opening Day - Defensive

Very dicey cutting a 5th round pick and thinking no team will pick him up for a look - thus - the practice squad notion is far from a sure thing -- plus George really only has to show immediate ability on special teams - and even then - he could be on the 53 and not dress initially. To say that a draft pick(particularly outside the 1st round) must come in and produce immediately(as in year 1)is somewhat delusional. Generally - if a pick in the first 5 rounds shows anything - they are usually given at least one year

An interesting issue developing for the Jets is that 2 of the 6th round picks(DE IK Enemkpali and WR Quincy Enuwa) are both seemingly playing well, both of whom I would have pegged for the practice squad - but again - if they perform well this summer there is no guarentee they would make it to the practice squad - moreover all things being equal - its less expense cap & roster wise to keep these picks on the 53 then veterans.

Relative to carrying both Barnes and Ellis(along with Harrison)essentially means - 3 players on the 53 who are 2 down players with no/limited special teams value - the numbers don't generally allow for it - but - it is not totallly out the question - especially if Barnes shines and the team knows Ellis is gone after next year - but again in that case - seems more likely Ellis would be dealt just prior to season to a NT/DTneedy team

as per Brian Costello today of the NY POST: " Rookie LB Jeremiah George showed a few flashes, making two nice plays during the 9-on-7 running drill"

Re: My Projection on the 2014 NY Jets Opening Day - Defensive

I think Edds is our top back-up MLB now.  I don't think he gets cut unless George is a better special teams player.  Edds looked a lot better than george to me with the second unit.  George gave up the TD the play after he missed a tackle in teh backfield.  He had a rough series.

I don't think there is any way Barnes isn't on the roster.  That second half dominance when he blew up that run play and followed up that play with a sack was amazing.  You don't cut that talent.  There's too much there for the coaches to work with, IMO.  I think with improved technique he could be as good as Snacks.

I am rooting for Reeves to make the team but I think the Jets are going to try and hide him on the practice squad.  I'd be real excited if he made the team though.  I like him as a player.  A real fiesty player that makes plays and is always around the ball.

I'd like Miles to make the team, but every time someone brings up how good Miles has looked to Ryan, he always includes in his response, "but Jarrett has looked really good also."  I think Ryan really likes Jarrett but you have to admit Miles seems to be really pushing for that spot.  He's an intriguing little prospect.

I think McIntyre and Barnes make it, especially with Cunningham likely going on season ending IR.  mcIntyre never gets cut.

Zero chance Patterson gets cut now given the injuries to dougle and milliner

I would not say zero chance .....  because he sucks,  is always injured and seems to have problems picking up the Jets Cover packages.

seemingly pretty accurate roster projection at this point in time by Cimini
