I think when the whole off the field issue came up the writing was on the wall with Goodson. It's a shame as I was excited with his addition last year, but we've moved on and I like how the team's backfield has shaped up.

Re: 2014 NY Jets Mini Camp

Excited to see what Evans WR can do at camp and see if he can get in the mix at WR. I think Saunders showed he'll be in some packages but can Evans work his way onto the field as a rookie. Also, we'll start seeing if Ford is a mirage or not. WR battle is real interesting to me to see how those 3 new guys push Hill and Nelson for reps...and can Hill hold them off. Having Vick throwing to Evans, Ford, Amaro, and Saunders in the slot in the preseason is going to be awesome (obviously Nelson will be in that rotation too).

Re: 2014 NY Jets Mini Camp

CAN'T WAIT!

Really Interested in a bunch of camp battles...

The #2 WR is probably the biggest..

Also the LB Depth is totally up in the air with ( McIntyre, Reilly, "IK", J.George, Antwan Barnes(health??) J. Cunningham and others.. To me this group is the most up in the air competition on the team...

O-Line and DB depth is gonna be fun to see too...

Re: 2014 NY Jets Mini Camp

All of these battles at OLB, S, CB and WR spell nice depth at positions that bode well for the special teams, an obvious issue the last couple of years.

Re: 2014 NY Jets Mini Camp

Any word on whether these practices are open to the public? They've been in the past but haven't seen anything reported on it. I've been a number of times and its fun to be there... I remember going in 2010 to see up close WR/CB drills, getting to see Edwards and Holmes work against Revis and Cromartie. Was some cool stuff.

If you're into getting autographs they've been the practices where you can get up close to a lot of bigger names too, as opposed to training camp. I was even able to chat a bit with Revis in 2010.

 Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                        ·          59m

Quick before Rex. Hill had another really solid day, Decker of course. Patterson & McDougle both looked great in secondary # Jets

 Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                        ·          56m

Patterson made a handful of plays but one spectacular pick. Read the route QB's eyes, jumped route for the pick

 Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                        ·          50m

Aboushi looked good today as well, lots of stuffs. Has filled out his body, he looks like a guard now. # Jets

  Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                                   48m

He had a bad drop but otherwise looked really good. Got open a bunch, solid routes RT " @ Mavericknyc1980: how did Evans look”

 ·  Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                                45m

Cunningham had a few really nice rushes off edge again, against 2nd team. Coples, playing around 60/40 DE/OLB split jumped out couple times

 ·Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                                  43m

A few, one outstanding. Caught tight pass in traffic & had his helmet ripped off & held on RT " @ SteveCono: any notable plays from Saunders?”

 ·   Chris Nimbley       @Cnimbley                                   6m

Both he & Vick looked good today. Geno seems much more comfortable, better command feel for the offense RT " @ JCuratola: how did Geno look”

Bruce Campbell is an interesting name.

Coming from the same Maryland team that has produced athletic marvels like Vernon Davis, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Jared Gaither, Campbell is of a similar mold. Ultimately went in the 4th round to Oakland in 2010 when pre-draft there were those who thought he could be a first rounder. Classic freak athlete(ran a 4.75 forty at 6'7 315 pounds) but not much of a football player type. Just turned 26 though, so maybe the Jets get something from him.

It's really encouraging to read how well McDougle is performing. So far, it doesn't appear to be too big for him.

As well as Patterson. I'm not at all concerned about our CB situation, and I think that that is in large part to the due diligence of the powers that be.

Everything I've read through OTAs is Vick and Geno looks good, but it looks like Geno's team. Definitely seems to be in command of the offense.

Saunders continues to impress. I think the Tavon Austin type Idzik was targeting in this draft all along was Saunders, not Cooks or Lee. Ryan calling out Hill is encouraging, even of indirectly. Also like Allen and Pryor playing and not going with ole reliable.

Would like to hear that Amaro is coming along.

I really like the potential there of having two safeties with the ability to both cover, and lay some wood. Good tandum from what I can see , and hopefully , that's what Rex has in mind.
