Schedule to be released today or tomorrow so...

Schedule to be released today or tomorrow so...

!)  Who you think we open with?

2)  How many Thurs/SUN/MON night games you think we have?

3) Which division opponent will be the final game?

I'm hoping the last game is NE at home..in the last cpl years we have had Miami twice..ON ROAD....and Buffalo at home once.....

The league ALWAYS schedules a "cupcake" team for NE to start season..so they can let them get off to a fast start....

I think we open on the road against an NFC North opponent

2. We probably play the PATS on a Thursday night

3. We close the show at home aginst the Bills

Like you said no way will we get to play PATS at home to end season Kraft and BB would cry a river

I'll just go ahead and predict the entire schedule, can't do any worse than my draft predictions:

1 @Tennessee
2 BUFFALO
3 DENVER (MON)
4 @New England (SUN NIGHT)
5 @Green Bay
6 OAKLAND
7 @Miami
8 DETROIT
9 BYE
10 @Minnesota
11 CHICAGO (MON)
12 @San Diego
13 NEW ENGLAND (THUR)
14 PITTSBURGH (SUN NIGHT)
15 @Kansas City
16 @Buffalo
17 MIAMI

Re: Schedule to be released today or tomorrow so...

I say we get 3-4 prime-time games (whichever days) because of the FA we picked up and the Jets always seem to be a big draw even though we haven't won a SB since 69.  NFL media, fans etc... will be very interested to see how our teams does this year for the positive or negative.

-Our first game will most likely be a home game against a tuff AFC opponent and the second will most likely be a prime-time game most likely against a NFC opponent.  If the Jets win the 1st game, then it draws even more attention towards the prime-time game.  They may give the Jets a second regular game and then the third will be the prime-time but I thinking the second will be the prime-time game.  Two of our prime-time games will division opponents, one will be a a AFC opponent and the other will be the NFC.

-Last game will be at the Pats.  I think the league is thinking the Jets will be in contention this year and the last game will be the Jets fighting for a wild-card at the least.  If not that, they will love to see the Pats nail the coffin in on the Jets and Rex coaching career with the team and crush us.  Either way, it works out great for the league and the media hype.  The last game won't be a prime-time game.  All the prime-time games are done by then but they they will make it a premiere regular game whether the Jets are in contention or a laughing stock.  Works out either way for the league and the media.

I like everything you have here except the last game of the season.  I would change the phins game with the second Pats game.  Also I think 5 prime-time games is too much for our team.  The Jets haven't made the playoffs in two years so they are a big draw because of their FA pick-ups and the fact they play in NY-NJ but 5 games is pushing it.  4 games is more reasonable and they can sell that more.  So I'm thinking the Chicago game being primetime and the Phins game being a regular game and as the I said, the Jets play the Pats at home for the last game of the season.  5 games will be more for Denver, Seattle, NE and the 49ers.

Rumor has it Buffalo will be in Detroit for Thanksgiving....and Dallas will play a NFC team....most likely Philly...Giants played on Thanksgiving 209..and then the night game will be An NFC North Matchup or maybe in San Fran new stadium.....it shouldnt be us against anyone as they like to spread out the division matchups on Thanksgiving...

I dont think the league will put the same division matchup on twice during the year in prime time...

I agree and I would say the Chicago game stays prime-time, the second Pats game and last game of the season switches and the phins is not a prime-time game.  That gives the Jets 4 prime-time games and I would agree with the rest of your predicted schedule.

I think New England will be at Jets opening week..either SUn night or Mon night...if the league put Revis and TB on first week..whats even better..having BB and Revis play Jets in New York...would be ratings bonanza...although I wouldnt mind it but would want it in NE

I agree the Revis Jets angle would be a bonanza but opening week probably needs no extra PR stuff. Maybe week two that would be the headline game.

Revis would definitely be covering Decker maybe full time. Big game for Kerley, Beckham/Ebron and CJ out of the backfield.biggrin

The sooner the better they release it.Flights are cheap from Ireland at the moment so need to get it done rapid.Hopefully it will be as good a trip as last year.Went to see us beat the Cheatiots at home with Folks winning field goal.Thought at halftime we were beat.some tripbiggrin

You flew from Ireland to see the Jets beat the Patriots?

That is beautiful. Must've been a nice flight home after that.

That would make me happy Sarge. Week five in Green Bay. Still nice enough weather for a road trip to the hallowed ground of Lambeau field and Whistling Straits is only an hour away.

I doubt it happens. The Pats signed Browner, and he is under a four-game suspension. My guess is the Jets do not play them in those first four games, as Browner's absence could potentially threaten a Patriots victory.

Good stab at it Sarge. If you are right I'm gonna think you are Brady in disguise with that brutal stretch at 11, 12, &13. Monday night at home, fly to the west coast on a short week and fly back to the East Coast to play the Pats on an even shorter week!

I agree, the league will want NE and the Jets (mainly NE) to be at full strength so its the best game possible.  Ofcourse they won't schedule that 1st match-up to late in the season, so I'm guessing game 5-6 at the latest and it will be a prime-time game in NE.  Jets will have a prime-time game before the Pats game, probably game 2-3 against a NFC opponent at home.
