2013 NFL Fines and Suspensions

2013 NFL Fines and Suspensions

This will be an ongoing topic with weekly updates. Rather than have multiple threads for them I came up with one where they can all be discussed. Since we feel the league will impose some after last night I would hope that some Pats will be fined as well. Or we could discuss fines from last week. Suh 100K fine has to be unprecedented for occurring on the field.

how about all those classless patriot fans that were booing when Wilkerson went down? Fake an injury in that spot? Why would he - when the clock will run off 35 seconds either way, theres absolutely zero reason to fake an injury in that spot. stay classy, new England.

speaking of which, our season hinders on wilkersons status. praying its nothing bad.

just read on espn that the NFL will review mangold, colon, and bricks involvement in that skirmish. I guess as rex said, it doesn't matter that patriot players threw punches right? You just know goodell is licking his chops to suspend all 3 of our guys

Manish Mehta @ MMehtaNYDN 37m

Back judge Todd Prukop put hands on LG Willie Colon as he backpedaled when skirmish was dying down. Colon pushed Prukop's hands out of way

After Willie Colon pushed Prukop's hands off his body, WC then turned away from Prukop and walked to Jets sideline. # nyj

Don't get the logic on behalf of the refs and the league here ...  First question ... why wasn't Talib flagged for taunting ....   All of this happened on the Patriots sideline..... and within seconds the entire Patriots team was immediately engulfing the Jets players ,  the refs should have been cognizant of that,  there job should have been to get the Jets players quickly & safely out of there to prevent retaliation ,  if you watch this closely only 2 players from the Jet sideline can be seen running across the field joining the frey ,   Harris & Douzable.

I wish there was footage of BB during this frey ... bet he is pushing his guys in therw!!

Its amazing what the league lets the Patriots get away with.

Yeah, I just posted in the game thread about this. I'll move it here:

I thought it was interesting that Dennard shoved Mangold in the back, which Nick
ignored, partly because another Pats player was already in his face, right before
the fight broke out. Then right near the end of the brawl Dennard emerges from
the scrum and Landry puts his arm over his shoulder to calm him. Dennard then
beelines for Duccase who is facing the other way and takes a swing at his
head...  Through it all Mangold stayed calm and never lifted a fingernoidea

Wilfolk also ignited the entire fight IMO by pushing Brick's shoulder from behind while
he was jawing with Kelly. A ref was handling the jawing by being between Brick
and Kelly and Brick reacted by turning and shoving back at the person who pushed
him, Wilfolk . Wilfolk then came after Brick who had become enraged and wasn't
backing down and you know the rest

Having the NFL Game Rewind really
came in handy in being able to rewind and pause the whole incident.

And I hope this is true as well, it backs part of what I viewed on the replay...

No doubt in my mind that Dennard is getting fined. I already pointed out more that he did beyond what's mentioned in this article in my previous post ohlord.

Very much hope that's true too.  We simply can't afford to lose those guys.. at all. Just so sick of the golden boy Pats literally getting EVERYTHING their way.  It's absolutely nauseating.

Maybe he should tell his coach.

Mike Reiss @ MikeReiss 1h

Asked Aqib Talib if he thought Nick Mangold hit was dirty: "He started to dive when I was in bounds. ... I didn't see it as dirty."

Ian Rapoport @ RapSheet 2h

Bucs to be fined at least $50K as a team, per club remittance policy (calculated at the end of the year). They passed the $105K threshold

Ian Rapoport @ RapSheet 2h

If # Bucs reach $157,500 in fines, they're fined $25K more AND must match any additional fines/suspension amounts for the rest of the season

RE: 2013 NFL Fines and Suspensions

I don't know what the delay is for Colon and Mangold's fine. Mangold started his dive while the guy was inbound. Colon's contact with official wasn't intended. All I know is there are some Pats that should get fined too. And since some action must be taken against them it somewhat explains why no one got suspended.

That's probably the highest fine of all cases occurring that night. I'm thinking Mangold's fine is around 25K.
