Guess that makes 4 now. We are all probably getting brainwashed by the so called experts.

BTW I would go a totally different way. I would be trading back

I'm not so sure that Mingo is going to be the pick. I just read that he showed up at his pro day at 237 and didn't do the bench press again. There may be cause for concern about his size and strength. I was starting to warm up to Mingo, but after reading this recent news, I think the Jets might be better off with a guy that's a bit bigger.

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/ id/56312/jarvis-jones-and-the-latest-case-of-the-n fl-drafts-tape-vs-workout-debate-2

Jordan/Ansah is likelier than Mingo/Jones.

Jones is falling due to medical concerns and a lackluster combine/pro day.  The medical issues are where Jones’s tumble began. Originally committed to play at USC, Jones was diagnosed with spinal stenosis during his time in Los Angeles and wasn’t cleared to play. This led to him transferring to Georgia, where he was given medical clearance and went on to have an excellent career. There were reportedly some teams, though, that still had doubts about Jones’s medical condition going forward. A first-round pick’s success isn’t guaranteed under normal circumstances, and investing in a player with a chronic medical issue doesn’t help matters. In early March, Jones visited Craig Brigham, a Charlotte orthopedist, who concluded that Jones only had suffered a mild spinal-cord concussion, which had been resolved for some time. An independent examination by a player’s doctor of choice likely won’t change the minds of any teams that had taken Jones off their boards. But for those on the fence, further medical clearance could go a long way.

If the medical issues were Jones’s only problem, it’d be almost certain he’d be one of the draft’s first six picks. But the pre-draft stumble continued last weekend, when Jones turned in a 4.92 40-yard dash at Georgia’s pro day. Jones wasn’t expected to clock in anywhere under 4.7, but the 4.92 was a shock to some, like NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock, who said the time will likely raise concerns. The Suggs comparison is harder to make when you consider that Jones is 10 pounds lighter, ran slower, and supposedly had more positional flexibility than the Ravens pass rusher. Predominantly a 3-4 outside linebacker in college, Jones was drawing comparisons to Von Miller as a player who could fit multiple defenses and rush the passer from all over the formation. Jones lacks Suggs’s bulk and Miller’s elite athleticism, so the concern isn't his falling between positions right now — it’s that he’s not falling into any of them.

Mingo: Scouting report: It's all about potential with Mingo. His college production was so-so (15 sacks in three years), but he excites scouts because of his pass-rushing ability. He has an explosive burst (1.56 seconds in the 10-yard split) and demonstrates elite speed (4.58 in the 40). He needs some technique work, but he's durable and plays hard. The question is his size. He played last season in the 230s and added weight for the combine. Even in the 240s, he'd be undersized to be an every-down OLB in the 3-4 scheme.

Key stats: Mingo played in all 40 games over the last three seasons. He has long arms (33 3/4 inches), which many scouts believe is a must for elite pass rushers.

Red flags: No character issues. Some question is production last season -- only 4.5 sacks. Against Alabama, LSU's biggest game of the year, Mingo was held without a tackle. Said one scout: "They wore his ass down, but he never quit. I think the kid is a ballplayer." Another question is whether he can make the switch to a 3-4 OLB after playing in a three-point stance, but Mingo has the athleticism to make the transition.

Jets & Hawkeyes. I must enjoy torturing myself. >.<

Let's be safe and draft Chance Warmack G and sign Karlos Dansby OLB. Both will start day 1, and hope Zach Ertz TE is there @ 39.

Go Jets...Cyborg

If Jordan is gone, I think we'll try our best to trade down. Mingo dropping weight between the combine and his pro day is a red flag to me. Sounds like Maybin in that regard.

Still think Jones is the safest pick out of the LBs.  But with today's proceedings (Flynn to Raiders and Palmer to AZ possibily), my guess is that Jordan (Raiders), Ansah (Lions), Mingo (Browns) and Jones (AZ) may all be gone before we pick .   Want nothing to do with Moore so maybe Dansby isnt a bad idea.     If they are all gone by our pick, then I think you have to take Star......  If all the QB's aren't in play early in Rd1, then I think trading down is gonna be tough to do....  If not Star... then Cooper or Warmack seem pretty safe.....

If Revis gets traded I'd also strongly consider Milliner the best CB in the draft.

Do you think he is as good as Haden? That's who I'd compare him to as a prospect.

I think he's better then Haden and if Milliner was available at #9 youpick him if Revis is traded.

IM just fascinated by this guys skills relentlessness  and his maturity as shown by the Combine interview stuff I posted...he might be 25  26 by July..but JUST MAYBE  that is a good thing..he is older more mature and not a youngster who when he gets his money is going to go all gangster and ruin it.  If you want to draft Cooper/Warmack/Milner/Trufant/Lane Johnson even Tyler Eifert  who will be great  etc  I guess ican live with it  but with all the question marks of all these "tweener" type hybrid OLB/DE   MIngo/Jordon/Ansah/Jones/ Moore  Hunt probably is the safest bet...

A month ago Margus Hunt was a 3rd round draft pick.

If we pick him @ 9, I will be totally pissed off.banghead

He is 6'8". which means DE. We have two stud DE's, and please don't tell me he can convert to OLB ?

Go Jets...Cyborg
