Daily News
Is it just me, or does the Daily News just pump out garbage article after garbage article every single day? Mike Lupica's article for example: Does he even watch/understand football, or does he just say 'LOL, JETS SUCK' expanded into an article? There is nothing constructive written in the Daily News, just pure bile.
Gary Myers seems like he wants to appease to SOJF who believe that the organization is doomed to a life of futility forever and ever, and Manish Mehta is a whiny crybaby. Sorry about that, just had to vent. Thank goodness I don't live in NY anymore, would have been hard walking by and seeing some inflammatory backpage scoop without freaking out

RE: Daily News
Yeah NYDN hasn't had any credibility since like 2011...every once in a while Mehta or Myers will have a somewhat sensible article but otherwise it's mostly garbage

Re: Daily News
Newspapers overall in NYC have deteriorated. Due to the outgrowth of the internet, the papers see the end of the line and they have become more and more sensationalized. They aren't able to give you much that's new since so much is available out there due to ESPN, CNN, FOX News, blogs, etc so sports writers in particular go EXTREME!!! to try and get your attention. Ten years from now the DN and probably the Post won't exist, though the NYT will still be around.

Re: Daily News
Yeah, it drives me nuts too. It's most of the beat reporters. . . Meyers and Cimini are the worst. The loudmouth bozos are no better. No objectivity just wise ass comments. Now when I see tweets or articles that make fun of the team I write back focusing on their unprofessionalism. I've actually gotten replies back from some because my comments to them are not just calling them names. Everyone should do the same. Use phrases like: -Don't journalism schools frown on biased reporting? -Isn't it the responsibility of a professional reporter to keep personal opinions out of their writing? -You're a journalist, be better than these comments. Try it. It's harder to ignore well thought out remarks. I don't think there are any beat writers that are as biased. I just don't understand how they keep their jobs. Screw em!!!!!

Childish Mehta is probably the worst "reporter" I've ever seen on any topic in any city.

Cimini is annoying with how snarky he is (and his insistence on using the word circus), but I feel as though his sources and speculation are right more often than not. That being said, when we start winning, I don't want to hear him pretend to like the Jets.

Mike Lupica is a columnist. It is his job to give his opinion. Controversial or not, like it or not. He is not the problem.
The problem is with the reporters putting their spin on everything when it is their job to just give us the facts.

Re: Daily News
The Daily News lost credibility for me when Ohm Youngmisuk covered the Nets. That was when they had both Vince Carter and Jason Kidd. I like to read about baseball and basketball game results by first looking at the box score and imagining how the game played out. Then I read the article by the beat reporter.
One game, center Nenad Kriscik had the game of his life and led the Nets to the win - he had 25 points and over 10 rebounds. When I read Ohm's story about the game, he told us what Carter and Kidd did, and DIDN'T MENTION KRISCIK'S NAME EVEN ONCE. It was like he wrote the key portions of the story in advance and only plugged in some stuff before he submitted it to the paper.
He didn't do his job. Ironically, he now covers that other football team in town for ESPN.com and is heard frequently on ESPN-NY radio. And the show hosts and fans of that team hang on his every word. I wonder if they know what kind of imcompetent hack he is.

True enough, but even columnists are piling on. Granted the team does a lot to bring it on itself, but there have been wholesale changes, not much talking at all and an effort to right the ship. Give us a break already! If I hear circus again, my head is going to explode.

RE: Daily News
While Cimini is part of the problem at times, I do still feel he has some good pieces at times, but I guess they all have their moments...even a lot of the Jets fan blogs get ridiculous with the negativity at times, it's like they bash the beat writers for doing things like that and then they turn around and write blog posts that are just as ridiculous...think it's just an NY/NJ thing

www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/j...tm_content=JetsIt's an objective article, but I swear some of the people listed are SOJF or something. That PSL lawsuit is not going to hold up. Nobody put a gun to their head and forced them to buy PSL's. Especially when you can get tickets off of stubhub/craigslist for a LOT cheaper.

Drmtesta wrote: There they go again www.nydailynews.com/sports/foo...ksEnabled=false lol, the main problem is he's right we dont have anybody on offense that looks "exciting" can you really blame him? we were terribad last year, TERRIBAD But the issue is what are we gonna do to change that, doesn't necessarily mean a change at quarterback, even tho Sanchez was in fact HORRIBLE, but so was the entire offense so i still believe it wasn't all his fault. The fact is we had a very lackluster year while being one of the most covered teams in the NFL the offseason before, so yes we had everybody watching, which was very bad considering how BAD we were the entire year. Dont blame the reporters for bashing us, we deserved to be bashed......although we dont deserve EVERYTHING considering the injuries we had, but we weren't jus decent, we were BAD. Jus sayin.....lol

According to Bart Hubbuch, Gary Myers asked Woody some stupid ass question. Woody just walked away.

LOLOL holy ****, this guy is an awful writer. I love Woody not talking to these guys...they ridicule and make fun of him and the Jets at any cost; and then turn around and get mad and say they should talk when they don't. GUARANTEED no matter what Johnson said, if he did answer, it would be on back page splashed everywhere either "WOODY doesnt want Revis" or "WOODY thinks Revis not worth money" or JETS UNDECIDED ABOUT REVIS or whatever just to try and use the Jets to sell papers......Woody doesnt have to answer to the press. The press hides in back of "you should talk to your fans" or "you have to talk" or be more open like the Giants but the press has their own agenda and push their opinions at the Jets cost. I am a season ticket holder and I could care less if Woody talks or not especially now ; when as we speak he is trying to get the most for Revis and should not do anything to jeopardize what they can get done Richard Todd will always have a place in my heart for shoving and throwing Serby into a locker way back. That should happen to Myers; but him; the you-know-what that he is would get a neck brace and sue whomever did it.

It will be interesting to see who breaks the story first when Revis does get traded...whomever it gets "leaked" to first will be fought over around here...
Woody should leak it to someone he likes in media..if there is one

Re: Daily News
Here's what I take from Myers' "piece":
When Woody talks about contracts and speculation, he helps create a circus. Talking, after all, about such matters is classless. The Giants would never do that.

Another terrible article by Steve Serby.
If it has 'tattoo', 'buttfumble', or 'circus' It's probably a poorly researched article that just snarks for no reason.
