RB Next Season ?
Jet brother's & sister, we have a big void going into next season. It looks like Shonn Greene is shopping himself in free agency and won't be a Jet next season. Are we comfortable with: Bilal Powell 5/10" /204 Joe McKnight 5/11"/ 205 Lex Hilliard 5/11"/ 235 John Griffin 5/11"/ 208 Josh Baker 6'/3"/244 NFL Draftscout.com has the following top 10 RB's in this years Draft. The number to the far left, is their player ranking on the big board: 36) Eddie Lacy 5/10"/220 60) Giovani Bernard 5/10"/205 74) Joseph Randle 6'/200 78) Montee Ball 5/11"/215 85) Andre Ellington 5/10"/197 89) Stephon Taylor 5'9"/216 95) Johnathan Franklin 5/10"/201 108) Christine Michael 5/10 /221 122) Marcus Lattimore 6'/220 134) LeVon Bell 6'2"/224 I doubt very seriously we go the free agent RB route with Bush & Jackson available with their Golden Parachute request. I liked Powell as the season went on and he got some playing time, but I'm not 100% sold he is our Bell Cow ! I'm looking harder & harder @ the top 10 College kids. Go Jets...Cyborg

MONTEE BALL!!!!! AKA-Money Ball
Dude is sick running the rock. Fast-Elusive and catch out of the back field. If we can land him in the 3rd with drafting Warmack in the 1st...{PSSSST, and possibly trading our 2nd for Foles}. This offense would have the beginning of something special to build upon.

Dan, So you want to go offensive this year ? 9) Warmack G 39) Trade to the Eagles for Foles QB 72) Ball That's 3 offensive player's in a row ? You know Rex is our Coach right ? You know we don't have a OLB on our roster, and maybe safety ? Please hurry draft, this is killing me ! Go Jets...Cyborg

Re: RB Next Season ?
Shonne Greene is a "G&P" type RB, and since we are shifting to a WC offense he just doesn't fit. An ideal WC RB can catch the ball and rack up YAC. If McKnight could stay healthy and work on the fumbling issues, he would excell in a WC offense. McKnight, Powell, and a rookie RB suited to the WC would be good enough to go into 2013. Also wouldn't mind a veteran like Peyton Hillis as a hybrid FB that could also catch the ball out of the backfield.

Go Jets...Cyborg I'm good with Baker at FB and Powell and McKnight at RB (hopefully McKnight gets to be a big part of the offense) but we need a big time RB. I would be happy with Lacy,Bernard,Taylor or Franklin. It will interesting to see their 40 times.

Go Jets...Cyborg We haven't had an OLB since Rex got here , an OLB can be plugged in from Free agency and Rex can make it work. The offense has been placed to the side for quite a while now. These matters need to be addressed. I think Rex and management know this all too well.

Re: RB Next Season ?
I'd like to see an investment in the OL before anything else because if we don't get the G issue addressed, whoever is back there is going nowhere anyway.
If they don't do that.... just sign some stiff like Blount and give him the ball all season.

Re: RB Next Season ?
As said above, hard to imagine Rex & co. drafting the 1st 3 rounds offense. Having said that, the Jets have possibly the worst skill position talent in the NFL(on offense) going into next year. Not a big believer in drafting backs or WRs in the 1st round though. I think they need to invest in both a WR and RB in rounds 2-4, and need to pick up a vet WR in FA.

Re: RB Next Season ?
Dan, We had 2 # 1 draft picks (Pace, Thomas) as our OLB's before they turned old. We have no OLB's right now ? OLB's in a 3-4 are crucial.
We also won't have a "Bell Cow" RB or TE if we lose Keller.
I'm hoping Lattimore falls to the 4th round. After watching Adrian Peterson's recovery, I'm hoping Lattimore could become a late round steal ?
Go Jets...Cyborg

Go Jets...Cyborg IMHO, Lattimore is a Willis Mcgahee pick. We'd have to wait till next year to see if he's fully healed. I'll be willing to risk a pick on him for sure. As far as OLB. Pace and Thomas by no means are pass rushers. They held their grounds on run plays. Rex worked with that and he can also work with it this year in possibly acquiring free agent low priced OLB's. They'd do the same job or maybe better. The Jets need help offensively. DIRE HELP. We have no play makers opposite of Holmes {if any one calls him that}. The Jets have no explosive run game {Hence the Bell Pick}. We have no QB. Our O-Line is pedestrious to say the least. As far as Dustin Keller. If anyone offers him big bucks, goodbye. I'd rather go with Josh Baker as i feel he has more upside than Dustin has ever displayed. He's an "OK" Tight end in which the Jets can replace with a Delanie Walker or an Anthoney Fasano signing. Jets must draft Offense this year. If i recall correctly there was a report [ http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/28/re port-rex-ryan-would-rather-get-fired-than-accept-t he-status-quo/] in which at the end of last year Rex held a meeting with Woody Johnson and stated he wanted more playmakers on the offense or he would leave. Management has been very dismissive opposite of the defense. Time to change that. Last year performance was the brutal honest truth on what can be the final product when the offense is negated in the off season.

Re: RB Next Season ?
Dan, Not sure what you mean about Lattimore and next year ? He will be playing football this fall in the NFL. Pace (Wake-Forest) & Thomas (UAB) both still hold the sack records @ both their Ex College's. They were both # 1 draft picks because oif their speed & sacks. I don't think you have given Keller enough credit ? When healthy, Sanchez loved him. Delanie Walker is only 6' ft. tall & Fasano's better days have come & gone. Rex would be totally stupid to threaten Woody Johnson about leaving ?
Reggie Bush would be killer in a WCO, how much is he asking ?
Go Jets...Cyborg

Go Jets...Cyborg Gotta be honest. I have to wait until this Revis thing gets resolved before i would want Reggie Bush. Pace and Thomas were very good players in College, unfortunately they couldn't do the same. Except for Calvins last year in Arizon where he commanded big bucks in free agency. I give Keller a ton of credit, but to god's honest truth, i feel the Jets can move on from him and get some one else that fits the bill if he wants big cash.

RE: RB Next Season ?
If we're going to run a west coast offense I'd pick up Gio Bernard in the early 2nd round without blinking.

RE: RB Next Season ?
Bernard was on NFL network with Warmack live yesterday..Bernard seemed like a VERY well spoken and intelligent person....I think he would pick up offense quickly

Personally, Montee Ball has skills but he seems kind of one dimensional...can run well but not do much else, at least that's the way it seems Right now, I like Marcus Lattimore in the 3rd (barring no setbacks in his rehab), Le'Veon Bell in the 3rd-4th, or Christine Michael in the 4th-5th...I like almost all of the other RBs in the draft too, those are just 3 that I personally am fond of as options for us in the mid rounds

RE: RB Next Season ?
Bernard was 2nd on the team in receptions last year. He can catch the ball like a WR. Even when UNC ran a pro-set he was very effective on checkdowns and in the screen game. Of course the NFL is different but I believe he's by far the best fit for our offense. But then again I'm sure we'll draft a square peg to fit into a round hole.....
