Top CB prospect

Andy Reid commented today on the Chef's probable Rd 1 pick - CB Leon Sandcastle.

Nobody is quite sure where, exactly, Leon Sandcastle played his college ball but he's become the #1 conversation topic of the 2013 draft.

Andy Reid working at the pre-draft workouts for the Chef's scouting program, was questioned about taking the impressive Leon Sandcastle with KC's #1 pick, & had this to say:

Leon Sandcastle's first appearance on national TV - the brief commercial that launched him into consideration to be the first player off the boards in 2013.

The East squad player I have my eye on is Davoin Shower-Handle.
Man, that kid has some A>T>T>I>T>U>D>E goin' on!

EEE EEEEEEEEE is one scary mutha' as well.
His screech alone will have opponents crapping themselves, thinking Big Bird is about to have them over for lunch - as the main course.

Torque [Construction noise] Lewith - Nevada State (Penitentiary) - hits like a jackhammer. The Jets need a hitter like that in the LB corps.

D'Glester Hardunkichud is, of course, a local UW-WI favorite son playing for the West this year.
I can say from personal 1st hand eyeball experience that he was impossible for opposing defenders to locate and stop on the field for the past 2 seasons.

As for Dan Smith, he's a hard one to pigeonhole, isn't he?
Possible combo QB-K-P-waterboy prospect, he carries a lot of the same vibe that made Robert 'Bobby' Boucher Jr. such a prized player for the SCLSU Mud Dogs.
He certainly bears watching after the Combines.

Hyatt...I think BYU used Dan Smith as a QB. Maybe the Jets can convert him to a HB/TE/ST stand-out? :)

Wouldn't wanna take any chances with a kid like Smith - not on ST anyway.
Pure waste of talent and for too much injury risk.
The kid is a generation player, HoF material.
Just the fact that he can survive and thrive as he has in the NCAA world with a goofy name like Dan Smith demonstrates the immense amount of respect he gets from his peers.

Dunnoe what these Eastern Eurotrash parents are thinking when they cripple their child's future with cutesy names like that.
Would YOU hire off a résumé headed with a name like Dan on it???? eek1

It's a dead giveaway he's not a football player - or one would think, based on his name alone. disbelief
Maybe 50 years ago, sure, there used to be guys named Dan in the NFL, but it's been 4 or 5 decades since one has come through. noidea
Lazy skank couldn't at least put an apostrophe in her son's name? (D'an)

Re: Top CB prospect

Leon Sandcastle ran an official 4.20s in the 40 at the Indy Combines.
Topping that display, he then ran the 40 backwards and still beat out Rich Eisen, (NFL Network blogger), with ease.
Run Leon, Run!

Re: Top CB prospect

Steve "Mooch" Marriucci sits down with Leon Sandcastle to judge how well he understands defense.
The test?
Mooch draws up an offensive play and asks Sandcastle to diagram his defense of it.
(This prospect is going to tear up the league, and probably the playbook, after the draft.)

Leon Sandcastle will be drafted No. 1 overall by Chiefs

Leon Sandcastle will be drafted No. 1 overall by Chiefs

The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock.

In a move that would have seemed stunning months ago and yet was predictable by now, the Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday that they will be drafting cornerback Leon Sandcastle with the top overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs have greater needs at tackle and throughout their offense, but they just couldn't turn down the opportunity to bring aboard that afro and terrible facial hair (coach Andy Reid just can't stop gushing.)

Sandcastle's rise up the boards arrived faster than a Rich Eisen 40-yard dash time.

NFL Exposure

Leon Sandcastle visits the Chiefs

Leon Sandcastle talks with the media, tours the facility and meets with head coach Andy Reid. Take a look.

Unknown a few months ago, Sandcastle already has been stamped with legendary status. Sandcastle will be the player to be featured in NFL Network's award-winning program "A Football Life" before actually embarking on his professional "football life."

That show will air at a later date, but a trailer already is available above.

Sandcastle also will sit down with NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano for an in-depth, one-on-one interview for "NFL Total Access" on Monday.

Sandcastle will discuss the critics who say he might be the next JaMarcus Russell, a No. 1 overall draft pick with great measurables who is ill-equipped to live up to the hype.

(Happy April Fool's Day, Jets fans!)
