Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves
Is Reefer Mallet a free agent ? Can't be yet ? That kid has an AK-47 as an arm, just dumb as a post ! He got busted about once a month @ Arkansas. You heard the Browns are going to trade for him ? With Brady becoming more girl like, I doubt the Patriots would trade Brady's back-up ?
Where Is Buffalo coming up with all the jack to buy Landry & Scott, after paying tons for Fitzgerald QB & Mario last year.
Welker gone will help us. Harvin is up & down.
We should have never dumped Stanton & brought in Tebow.
Go Jets...Cyborg

RE: Other Team's Offseason Moves
Lol yeah, I don't think the Mallett think is happening from what I heard the past couple of days...it was pretty much just all speculation b/c Lombardi really liked Mallett before the draft so they assumed he might try to swing a trade for him since he got hired as VP of Player Personnel for the Browns and he's buddies w/ BB
I could see Alex Smith to the Chiefs or Browns...maybe Matt Flynn to the Chiefs if they don't get Smith

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
Peter King is suggesting that Joe Flacco re-signing with Ravens is not a given. Pleeeaaase. If Ravens don't re-sign the Super Bowl MVP, Baltimore will burn M&T stadium down.

RE: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
Don't think Scott will cost much more than vets minimum...maybe 2-3 mil per year max...they just cut Barnett and he was only making 4 and change I believe...Landry if they can get him for 6-7 mil I guess it's possible but I think him signing w/ the Chargers, Colts, Pats or someone else is more likely...Eagles maybe too

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
Agree, Scott is a vet min at this point in his career.
Today's rumors -
Cleveland to make Flacco a huge offer even if franchised...
Raiders after CB Aqib Talib.
Chris Canty has already met with KC and Tenn.
S George Wilson (Bills) already scheduled visits to Indi and Tenn.
Unrelated news (should be on draft thread)...already a lot of talk about the Jets targetting Jones OLB GA in the draft.

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
IMO Marcus Dixon is a good DL. He was a tweener here because he is more of a 4-3 DT or DE. He never liked the 3-4. He was also our back-up long snapper. Mangold can't do it.

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
Talking about the Ravens, they are rumored to be very interested in bringing in Richard Seymour...which is interesting since they don't have enough money to pay their own free agents but would consider signing Seymour...
Harvin to Seattle for a package that would include Matt Flynn is another rumor circulating this AM. Reportedly, the Vikes want a QB to push Ponder (there's a thought). Flynn and some picks for Harvin.
Sheldon Brown will not be resigned by Cleveland. While he's nothing special, if we traded Revis I wouldn't mind signing him to push Wilson and perhaps push Wilson back into a nickel role.
Seahwaks need a LB to replace Leroy Hill (arrested over the weekend). They are reportedly looking at cheap options like Nick Barnett, Philip Wheeler, and DeAndre Levy.
Colts considered a sleeper for Harvin.
Vincent Jackson open to restructuring contract to help Bucs be active in free agency (which is funny wince they are generally $30mill under the cap on an annual basis).

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
DeAngelo Williams likely to be cut to save $3.4 mill towards the Panthers cap. He averaged 4.3 ypc last year and 4.9 ypc for his career.

Re: Other Team's Offseason Moves & Rumors
It sure looks (to me) like a value & opportunity type of free agency for the Jets this year, with FA's choosing the Jets opportunity at a fair price for us. Hopefully there will be some decent "takers". I'm also curious to see if our new GM has a splash move in mind...

It wouldn't be a "splash" move, but there are plenty here in Washington 9just moved back 2 weeks ago) that want to trade Orakpo and resign jackson at OLB. They have a glut of 3-4 OLBs in Jackson and Alexander (both free agents) sitting behind Kerrigan and Orakpo. If we signed both Jackson and Alexander to relatively cheap deals, it would be a huge upgrade to our defense. I honestly think Jackson is as good as Krueger for half to a third of the price. Jackson is a big boy that can cover and get to the QB. Like a young Adalius Thomas.
