Jets Interested in Bradshaw

Jets Interested in Bradshaw

http://nyj.scout.com/2/1265355.html

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet.  He's only 26 and very productive (when healthy) and would be a nice addition to Powell and McKnight, IMO, if the price is right.

I'd be okay with the addition.  Not sure what everyone else thinks.

I really like Bradshaw's intangibles, production and toughness, but doesn't he have a lot of injury issues including screws in his feet?

Yes, which is why I wonder if his cost will be down a little (Stephen Jackson, Bush, and Bradshaw all free agents).  He had similar #s in 12 games that Greene had in 16.  He also catches the ball well and is a homerun threat.  I don't know, I like the idea of signing him.  Brings some leadership and toughness to the lockeroom, IMO.

If he was 29, I'd say nah, but he's 26 and spent a lot of years splitting carries with Jacobs.  I don't think he can carry the ball 350 times a season, which is perfect because I want Powell and McKnight more involved anyways.  Also crosses RB off our draft needs.

Re: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

I'd pass.

I'd rather the team address the RB position via the draft and get a pair of fresh young legs that will be here for the next 5-6 years vs a guy who can barely stay on the field that will cost far far more than a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

He'll be 27 by the time the season starts.

Bradshaw may not be out a lot of games but he seems to be constantly nicked up.  This is only going to get worse as time passes.

I honestly think the Jets want to take Taylor rd 2 to be their McCoy. Rumors are we like him a lot.

I'll go Taylor @ 39 as long as there is a safety in round 3. When I think of Bradshaw, my mind automatically equates injury prone ?noidea

Go Jets...Cyborg

Re: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

Bradshaw will play but he's usually not healthy enough to practice.  Maybe surgery will help.  It's a shame b/c he's very healthy besides his ankles and feet.

From day 1 we felt he was a violent runner and were waiting for his ankles to snap.  He broke the foot, now he has screws, the screws fall out, then get replaced and now surgery.

It's a risk.  Tough to say yes or no.

RE: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

I might be ok with a 1 or 2 year deal worth $3 mil per season for Bradshaw...but yeah I'd rather look at guys like Lacy and Bell in the draft instead...Lattimore is still my favorite but I know his injuries were quite severe, would still take a mid round flier on him if his rehab is going really well prior to the draft

I hardly think Bradshaw crosses RB off our draft list. He's never healthy seems to break bones in his feet on a yearly basis and now has screws in his feet holding those bones together..For the right price I don't mind him, but he's not a long term solution. We got suckered once before on the Holmes deal theres a reason teams like the Steelers and Giants let guys seemingly in their prime go..Buyer beware

Re: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

2 years too late for Bradshaw. He would have been a great addition a couple of years ago when he was a FA.
Now he's an injury risk. The Giants are not stupid. Jets have got to get younger at the skill positions. Pass...

Re: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

The thing with Bradshaw is i wonder if he is a product of the System more then anything.  Last season David Wilson and  Andre Brown both looked Just as good If not better then Bradshaw.. All the giants running backs were money in the bank whoever was starting..

Teams were scared of Eli, Nicks, Cruz, and Bennett that huge running lanes would open up for the giants.I don't know if Andre Brown is available but i really like the way he ran the ball and should be a cheaper and more effective alternative to Bradshaw. I am Guessing the Giants will keep Brown and Wilson if they let Bradshaw go though.

Yes, he missed time the last 2 (3?) years due to his feet. Pretty good when he plays though, elusive.

Pretty sure colts will snag one of the three free agent backs (Jackson, Bush, Bradshaw) to help out Luck.

Wow, can't even begin to say how unexcited I would be with any of these guys, Jackson I guess if I had to choose.

Bradshaw is a leader and I would be willing to get I'm for a 2-3 yr deal even with injuries. He plays hurt. I wouldn't break bank but he's definitely worth 5 mil a year.

Re: Jets Interested in Bradshaw

I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Jets are actually interested in him.  the article posted said they might want to look at him.  He has said that he would be interested in signing with the Jets.

So maybe the title of the thread should be "Bradshaw interested in the Jets."
