McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP

RE: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
I doubt KC takes Star #1 and the Raiders won't take another Bama defender after the McClain debacle. I can see us taking Jones in that scenario, however. Also can't see the Ravens taking Jesse Williams when they already have Terrence Cody
ROLL TIDE!

MkShay is a joke. Jordan at 225lbs isn't going that high. Moore isn't falling that low. I agree 100% on Williams and the Ravens. The Ravens have some tough cap decisions to make and will have to backfill some roster spots after losing some key players. Adding a 3rd NT won't be their direction.

Lakerfan1980 wrote: No one does...we are just talking. Well, that's your opinion. I have a lot of respect for Mike Mayock, the people at NFL Draft Countdown, and even Walter Football (I know HYATT doesn't like them much). They may their assessments and stick with them. Their not like the clowns at ESPN who make a guy #8 that no one thinks is any good just to make aname for themselves and then wipe pie off their face after the senior bowl and drop them to #39. I have said since week 4 Geno Smith will be the #1 QB taken, maybe #1 overall (when everyone was talking about Mark Sanchez part 2, including you, going #1 overall...then those clowns at ESPN hyped Glennon then looked like a-holes after his bowl game and senior bowl, now they're back on the Geno ship). Say what you want about Geno, but this is impressive regardless of system - Sophmore 65% comp 24 tds 7 ints Junior 66% comp 31 tds 7 INTs Senior 72% comp 42 tds 6 ints We need a "system" qb who can run the WCO, complete a high % of passes, and be smart with the football. People say he's the next "system QB," but show me the other system QBs who put up those numbers improving on an annual basis? I'm not even saying we should draft him, but ESPN flip flopping just shows they're winging it and picking players just to make news stories...not because they have a serious take on players.

RE: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
in mcshay's first on-air mock draft (perhaps just a top 10 - it was a back-and-forth with mel kiper), he had geno smith going #7 to arizona. said he didn't think he was a top 10 prospect, but figured someone would reach for a QB in the top 10. he may have switched that QB who someone reaches for to glennon in his first full mock (online edition) and then flipped back to smith for mock 2.0.
scouts inc (on espn website, which is mcshay's company) has smith as the #23 ranked prospect. i'm guessing he just figures someone will grab a QB in the top 10, so he picked one.
espn is in the entertainment business. so they will do lots and lots of mocks because draft junkies like that. obviously this more frequent mocking will lead to more changes as more information becomes available.

I agree (and we talked to Cy about that I believe). But he and Kiper jumped all over Glennon the week before the senior bowl and both said he's the #1 QB prospect and Geno wasn't even a first rd pick anymore. ESPN had a big article about Glennon before his bowl game as the best QB in the draft class. I do agree they keep making mocks so people will shift yup and down, but from top 10 to completely out of the rd 1 isn't just "more changes," that's rediculous. Remember a guy like Ben Graham who shot up draft boards after the senior bowl, making a change like that makes sense. Ponder having a great senior bowl shooting up draft boards makes sense. Taking a guy like Glennon, "predicting he'll have a great senior bowl" making him a top 10 pick, then actually watching him at the senior bowl and at practice and then saying, "we change our mind," makes me question how much they knew about Glennon before the senior bowl.

Re: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
My wife could pick a better Mock Draft than McShay's board. He is a Mel Kiper want to be ! Kiper is the best draft expert by far. Damontre Moore OLB 6'4"/250 still on the board @ 13 ? Not unless he shows up @ the Combines weighing 280 and holding a bucket of KFC ! I would love Jatvis Jones OLB falling to # 9 & the Jets. Go Jets...Cyborg

Yeah the consensus seems to be there are no QBs worthy of a top 10 pick. Geno Wilson with an outside change maybe. I just haven't seen enough of him to know whether he is legitimate top 10 talent or not. My guess is more likely lately first or early second in terms of talent. The Jets should not reach in the draft to get a QB. If the front office does pick one, they'd better be 100% sure, because as we've seen, if you miss, you set the franchise back two or three years. There will be Qbs available in 2nd, 3rd, 4th round that they could develop if they really like one. They need to take the best player available in each round and not reach for players. Stock the roster. I would be happy with any of these combinations in the first three rounds: 1. OL/LB 2. RB/WR/S/LB/CB/TE 3. QB/WR/OG/TE Now if they trade Revis or Cromartie and acquire extra picks that changes the landscape a lot. It also creates a huge hole at CB. But then they can consider using a second round pick on a QB.

RE: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
When April comes around I'm predicting Geno Smith & Mike Glennon with an outside chance of Matt Barkley (may rehab his stock throwing @ combine & pro day) go in the top 10...definitely Smith and Glennon I think though...maybe Smith to KC or Oakland and Glennon to Zona or Buffalo
Personally I prefer going for Tyler Wilson, Zac Dysert or Ryan Nassib in the 2nd or 3rd round...and I'd settle for EJ Manuel in the 3rd or 4th as well...if not, I like guys like Jordan Rodgers and Ryan Griffin as 7th round picks

Re: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
Mock Schmock! At this point tt's rediculous to comment on all the mocks. The only thing we know for sure is that all the mockers hate the Jets. That goes double for the media. And for good measure, we must include the NFL league office, NFL referees and officials, the NFL Players association, the NBA, Congress and the NYPD. I'm sure I left off many others, but the point is we know we are a model organization.
That said my mock/schmock is hoping for a trade of Revis to the Bucs for their first and third (and a fourth for next year) then:
1st: Milliner or surprise Banks, CB 1st: Ansah or Jones or Jordan, OLB; one of them will fall to #13 or Jenkins, DT
2nd: Fluker, Wagner or Cooper, OL
3rd: Warford, Brian Winters (he could really shoot 3's!), Barrett Jones, or David Quissenberry, OL
3rd: David Amerson, CB/S or Khaseem Greene, LB
4th: Cobi Hamilton, WR or Levine Toilolo, TE
Like everyone else I'm throwing crap against the wall for fun and giggles at this point. First, I'm a Jets fan and that's pretty much all I have to do. Second, it's fun!
All I know for sure is, we need to hit the lottery in this draft. No more one starter and 1/2 backup out of seven rounds. With all the holes we have, they need to find FOUR good starters.

Amen! If the Jets come up with 4 good starters out of this draft, and can do in back to back years, they can turn this thing around quickly. That's the right number. Assuming we find a QB of course.

Re: McShay(pathetic) Mock 2.0...Glennon dropped and Geno WAY UP
Jarvis Jones would be a perfect fit for the Jets Defense a real steal if he fell down the draft like that.
I still think the best value in the 1st round is going to be the team that drafts John Jenkins from Georgia in the 20's.. He played in a much tougher conference and schedule then Star Lotulei and I really feel he is the better DT prospect. If you guys plan on letting go of Pouha a trade down to pick him would work out really well.

ILDUCE and I are going to have to quit our day job (mocking the mocks)...this is pretty good. If we landed Greene in this draft I'd be really happy. The only thing missing here for me is a safety. I want one of the safeties in this draft...Thomas, Rambo, Lester, Elam, Vaccaro, Reid, etc, etc. This draft is stocked and I'd love to land one of these guys.
