They both have had their moments. I would give a slight edge to Sanchez. Very slight.

I think Todd had a stronger arm and was a better runner FWIW.

i guess i rememeber todd as being better than he was.  other than in 1981 his career stats are not good at all.

When you consider the players Todd had around him, he definitely underperformed.  Those were some great Jet teams.

I would say Sanchez is a little better, but Todd had more pure athletic talent.

Well nobody hit the open LB like Todd in the big spot I mean his chemistry with AJ Duhe was beautiful it may be what separates him from Sanchez who hasn't had chemistry with his recievers since BE and Cotchery left. Tough to call hell you could throw Browning Nagle into the mix too cause nobody could lead their reciever into a potentially devastating career ending hit like he could..Yeah tough to call

I'd have to give it to Mark.
Richard Todd had an amazing supporting cast.  As someone eluded to earlier, the guy did in fact under perform. Give Mark a supporting cast as he did in '09 and '10-he has the ability to do something special. {Playoff games and many come back wins in '10}.
They both had very good defenses but of course huge edge to Todd with the Sack Exchange bunch.
Sanchez is still my guy on this debate on everything he's enduring. IMHO, i feel this guy with Mourningwig as OC, will be in the Alex Smith category when it's all said and done.
Mark as did Alex has been stripped of any sort of confidence.  The team-The fan base-The organization have no faith but are tied to him.  MM has a huge and difficult task ahead of him as did Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman rebuilding A.Smith.
As to the Nagle>Sanchezrolleyes  Look at the stats and that supporting cast he had in '92.  That was coming off a playoff appearance in '91 with Kenny O.  I wish Sanchez had that talent on that side of the ball this past season.
Freeman McNeil-RB
Rob Moore-Wr
Al Toon-WR
Chris Burkett-WR
Terrance Mthis-WR
Johnnie Mitchel @ T.E
Stout O-Line
and a very under rated Defense.
Browning Nagle was the all time biggest NYJETS bust of all time-bar none.

To keep it short they both stink!!  Todd had a better supporting cast circa early 1980s.  But to me they are a complete mirror image of one another.  On occassion they can get on a hot streak, but when they are off...man are they ever off!!

@ Dan, I can't consider a 2nd round pick to be the the Jets all-time biggest bust, maybe if he was the
5th overall pick, but not a 2nd rounder.

Hard to say... Todd started off terrible, but got better when Joe Walton was OC.

Sanchez was decent his first two years, but has been sucking wind the last two.

Right now, a push.

Sanchez definitely has more upside. Just hope he can find it.
