2013 NFL Playoffs GDT

I didn't see a thread about the post-season anywhere else. We had two really good games yesterday, with Ravens winning a thriller in double OT at the Broncos, and the 49ers blowing out a close game vs. the Packers in the 2nd half in SF behind Colin Kaepernick's legs and arm.

In the first game, the goat (as opposed to GOAT) was in fact His Royal Highness Peyton Manning. We had to listen to Dufus Dierdorf lavish praise on him all game long and then backtrack to identify the fact that Peyton choked when it mattered most. I cannot stand the way Dierdorf calls a game, and LOL every time he guessed wrong how the replay officials were going decide a close one. Flacco threw a few great bombs and had a strong overall game in tough conditions, and the Denver secondary was horrible. The game was exciting and full of drama, and the Ravens played really good defense to escape the Mile High city with a win.

In the second game, it was all Colin Kaepernick. OMG, that guy had a beast of a game. He started out with a foolish pick 6, but from there it was domination. What speed and decisiveness he has when opting to take off with the ball. What an arm he showed on the mid- to long-range ball. He threw a few balls that were too flat and hard for his receivers, but also showed a lot of touch on the deep throws. The 49ers receivers dominated the Packer defense, and the game got out of hand in the 2nd half.

Today we have two more games, Seattle at Atlanta, and Houston at New England. I believe in the Seahawks, I don't believe in the Falcons or the Texans, and New England will win just to spite us all.

Yeah some great games yesterday, Honestly i think this is Baltimore's year they are playing hard for Ray Lewis and i think they are going to get past the texans or patriots and get to the superbowl.

Patriots will win today and i think atlanta will win actually.

I don't know about it being Baltimore's year. If they do end up in Foxboro, they certainly won't be getting the favorable officiating that they got in Denver. The calls only go one way in Gillette Stadium. They always have.

And if somehow the Texans do beat the Pats, it's time to break out the tinfoil hats because it looks to me like the league wants to see the Harbaugh brothers in the SB this year.

Here is the thing, Honestly last year the Ravens lost a heart breaker to the patriots in the championship game.. I am not proposing the NFL is straight up rigged but when there is a story line like Ray Lewis (one of the NFL posterboys and arguably the greatest Motivator of all time) announcing his retirement.. Funny things happen and Calls tend to go the way of that team. How great it would make the NFL look for Ray Lewis to go out with a improbable superbowl win, I think the NFL realizes how good that would be for the brand and i expect those close controversial calls to fall the ravens way.Not only that i really think the Ravens are going into that game with Momentum and Fired up..

Im expecting New England to win today but make no mistake i will put Big time money on Baltimore next week.. I am that confident they will send Ray Lewis to the big game and get revenge for last year..

I forgot to add, that Raven / Bronco game, was one of the best football games I have ever seen. It was wide open and back and forth all game. Peyton is now 0-4 in games under 40 degrees. Wonder if Denver was the right choice over Miami.

I am not a Raven fan, but I have to say, that Joe Flacco is one tough kid with a HUGE arm. I would take him in a NY second over Sanchez.

Yeah that Denver/Baltimore game was amazing...

And what come on guys...no love for Gonzo? He hasn't even won a playoff game in his Hall of Fame career...I'd like to see Falcons/Ravens Super Bowl maybe with Gonzalez finally getting the ever so elusive Super Bowl ring...or Ray Lewis going out on top, so it's a win-win

Incredibly satisfied to See the Broncos get tossed after one playoff game.  I will always hate Denver since that '98 AFCCG

Amen, I agree and I believe he is a FA but not sure we have enough bucks to sign him...

There's absolutely no way the Ravens let him walk in FA...it's either franchise tag or they work out a long term deal before free agency starts...

FAVORABLE OFFICIATING ????!!!!  The officials did everything in their power to screw Baltimore yesterday. The two hands to the face calls were garbage and the Manning fumble WAS a fumble he pulled it down set both hands and then lost the ball when his own lineman got shoved into him. If your referring to the Champ Bailey call they stuck it to the Ravens just as bad the series before.

John Abraham on the sideline during a play off game, sounds familiar.

Houston's defense looks like they're auditioning for Swan Lake. Man, they can't stop anything all of a sudden.

Love the way Phil Simms glosses over a clear defensive holding call because it messes with the narrataive that NE Patriots are a great defensive team. It's also not possible the officials missed something blatant, so who you going to believe, good 'ole Phil, or your lyin' eyes?
