RE: Rob Ryan fired
LOL 75% of the fanbase would explode if we hired Rob as the DC. The media might actually camp out in front of our training facility for days just to get quotes.

Oh no. Please don't bring him in. I can see it now. He and Rex wrestling on the sidelines like a couple of 12 year olds.

RE: Rob Ryan fired
He got thrown under the bus big time in Dallas. I'd love to have him as DC, but it won't happen. Plus, he'll have other opportunities,

Honestly it might make sense, Assuming they are grown enough i would bet they could work well and have similar thinking in mind for the defense. You could do a hell of alot worse then Rob Ryan at DC. However you guys need to get a GM in place ASAP all the good coordinators will disappear fast if you don't have one in place.

RE: Rob Ryan fired
Actually might allow Rex to focus on entire team building if he knows his brother has got the defensive Side of things.

Re: Rob Ryan fired
Hire Rob to run the defense and Norv to run the offense. Lock Rex, Rob and Norv in a room. Much amusement

Re: Rob Ryan fired
Awful way to can a coordinator.
That said, I think the chemistry would be quite good. I'm not sure why Rex dismisses it so quickly.

Now you have to admit, while Rob coming on board as DC would have immense entertainment value, it would also take the 3-ring circus theme to a whole nother level. We're talking the Gallagher brothers (Noel and Liam) on steroids. I can imagine sideline brawls mid-game between Rex and Rob over differences in defensive playcalls. It would be epic.

Its funny i could see them chest bumping after a big defensive stop and yelling at each other after surrendering a TD. Honestly though Rob Ryan seems like a decent Coordinator who needs his space to handle the whole defense.. Rex Ryan is calling defense next season so he needs ,id hate to say it a puppet like thurman in there who wont try to overrule him.

It would be nepotism, sure, but that happens all the time nowadays (the Redskins father-son tandem with Mike and Kyle Shanahan comes to mind)...now, it might not work b/c of possible "sibling rivalry" issues, ie, Rob might resent Rex running the defensive show (like I suspect he may have done, to a certain extent, with Pettine); but that too happens when a HC is known as a defensive or offensive mind, the actual DC or OC, respectively, becomes something of a "figurehead"..... ....come to think of it, it might work if Rex can relax his overseeing of the defense, with a DC sharing his style, and so he would have more time to focus on his HC responsibilities?

-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------- "Thurman is the natural successor, as he has worked with Ryan longer than any of the defensive coaches on the staff. Ryan said he will wait until the next general manager is hired before making anything official.
Pettine served as Ryan’s coordinator for four seasons, but he turned down a contract extension early in the season. Money was an issue, but Pettine also might want to escape Ryan’s shadow."

No lie, I will seriously be entertained by such a move, that's for sure. If we're lucky, we might see one of them punch the other or something.

Re: Rob Ryan fired
The twins are a walking comedy store. I will say this much, you would never have as many laughs as you'd get from an outtakes clip of those two working together on the same team. Woody could sell PSAs for weekly sparing matches featuring the tag team of Rex & Rob Ryan vs the NY press corps. (Foot protection optional.)
