Which of these 10 is most likely to be Jets 1st rd pick?

Which of these 10 is most likely to be Jets 1st rd pick?

Of course, it's still too early for any meaningful NFL draft speculation about specific names, but, hey, that never stopped me before........

If these 10 players were on the board when the Jets picked in the NFL draft, who would be the most likely pick?

(I'm assuming that QB Geno Smith, OT Luke Joeckel, and DT Star Lotulelei will be gone and that the Jets would not draft USC QB Matt Barkley)

Most likely pick from this group is......

  1. Poll closed on 01/11/2013
  2. Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas: 3 votes
  3. Keenan Allen WR California: 1 vote
  4. Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame: 0 votes
  5. Taylor Lewan OT Michigan: 4 votes
  6. Chance Warmack OG Alabama: 5 votes
  7. Bjoern Werner DE FSU: 2 votes
  8. Damontre Moore DE Texas A&M: 1 vote
  9. Jarvis Jones OLB UGA: 13 votes
  10. Barkevious Mingo OLB LSU: 8 votes
  11. Dee Milliner CB Alabama: 0 votes

woof......not exactly impressed. I know they want to go offense, but I can't spend a 9 on the choices so I'm going with the outside pass rush......Jones.

I hate these polls where you are limited to 10 options.  I like Te'o too but had to leave him off

I would like to see the Jets trade back in the 1st round and draft a different Jones ( Landry ) then use the extra pick on the best OLB or RT that's left on their board when that pick comes up

Takes care of 2 problems. I have like Jones for awhile and just have a really good feeling about his upside.

Originally from Oklahoma, I'm forced to watch a lot of OU football.  I know nothing/nobody are sure things but Landry just never impressed me.  He locks onto 1 receiver and forces a bunch of throws, I liked him more a couple years ago than I do today...

I guess he'll be on tonight for others to judge.

I like trading back,,, to me we pick best and most teams from 15-32. Helps you not to reach or give in to pressure cause unknkowledgable fans who haven't even watched a college game start reading some dork writers article on a guy whose stock rises because of the combine.

Sounds like we are stuck with Sanchez, so let's help him by improving our OL, RB's & TE. What about....

9) Chance Warmack G 6'3"/325. A F.....g beast of a guard. Slauson will join Callahan in Dallas, and Moore is an expensive older free agent. If you want OL strength, sign Moore to a 1 year deal and start Warmack @ LG, while further grooming Vlad for RG.

39) Depending on how they think Austin Howard RT 6'7"/333 turned out I would fix the RT problem with D J Fluker RT 6'6"/340.

LT - Brick
LG - Warmack
C - Mango
RG - Moore / Vlad
RT - Fluker

This line would be one of the best young OL in the NFL for years to come. You build first in the trenches. Our last two # 1 picks have been DE's. In the trenches.

Go Jets...Cyborg

Im surprised no one (so far) thinks we should draft Milliner. Draft him, trade either Cro or Revis, save a ton of money, get a few extra quality draft picks...not a bad plan

While I think offense is clearly our number 1 priority, I still think we need
to go OLB at pick #9 if there's someone there that we love. Maybe J.Jones is the most complete OLB who can rush the passer in this draft.
Mingo seems to be the best pure pass rusher, but doesn't look like a 3 down back at this point. Woerner doesn't seem as to have the explosion as them, and I haven't seen D.Moore play yet. But I know that you have to get really lucky to get a premium rush OLB once you get past the high
picks, so this looks like our opportunity. I don't think we'll have a shot at Clowney when he comes out, but someone will get really lucky with him.

If we don't LOVE that OLB at #9 then I'm all for going for a premium OL
with the pick (Lewan, Joeckel,..,). Otherwise maybe if we can find a trading partner, trade down and go for 1 or 2 OL, and OLB, QB and
an offensive playmaker in our early round picks.

It is nice that we have all our picks this year - it's been a while.

Sarge, You must be one of those BPA draft guy's ? The Jets have so many holes on the team (OLB, LG, RG, SS,RB,TE,QB,SS,FS,Etc.), why draft Milliner when that is the strongest part of our team. I like that CB on FL.ST as well.noidea

Go Jets...Cyborg

Because the 10 odd million dollars in cap room, plus gaining 5 years in youth.

Jets & Hawkeyes. I must enjoy torturing myself. >.<

I have been all for moving Revis. I have said it before. It's the best way to fill the most holes and also help the cap at the same time.

I just watched the first video that came up on Mingo and all I saw was a fast guy over rush on every play.  Reminded me of Maybin.

Damontre Moore is my favorite rusher in this draft...we'll be lucky if he drops to our pick @ 9 and we better draft him if he does...dude's a beast

Womack seems like the safest pick and it fills a need. If we went OLB I guess I would look at Mingo, Moore or Jordon. I would explore a trade down if we don't like any of the players with the 9th pick.
