Fireman Ed

Posted: 11/25/2012 9:34 PM

Fireman Ed

Says he's done leading the Jet chants.  Sounds like loser Jet fans were the reason.  Too bad as he's a good guy and leads a stadium which is the worst 12th man in the NFL.

That's coming from a Jet fan who has been going since Shea.

Blame Woody Johnson!

He did a helluva job and deserves a ton of credit for his efforts. He has earned a little break and I'm sure he'll be back someday.

Say what you want, but Fireman Ed was an icon to the NY Jets. I enjoyed watching him sit on his brother's shoulder's doing the J E T S>Jets...Jets...Jets chant.

Hopefully we will get the ship straightened out, and Fireman Ed will return.woohoo jets 1.gif

"Anzalone cited the coarsening of conditions at Jets games due to fans' anger..."
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/n...-030828017.html

Even Fireman Ed has had it with Jets fans this year.  Just like I saw, WEEk 1, DURING A JETS ROUT fans were ticked off that they were wrong about "the Circus" and Rex being a clown, their beloved tabloids (Cimini et al) were wrong in their doom and gloom forecasts.

Jets fans wanted Rex's head on a platter before the season started, and their hatred for Rex had them angry at the blowout JETS WIN week 1.  Fireman Ed no doubt saw that, and the cynical, fickle, critical, "fans" this team has.....

.....Fireman Ed has had enough.  That's sad, since he was the most loyal, enthusiastic supporter (a REAL FAN) this team has had.  Even Tebow seems sad on the sidelines, of course he's not starting but it may be more than that.  He always says and does the right thing, but it has to be getting to him, all the negativity and cynicism he's surrounded with in his new home.

This team has bigger concerns than fireman ed's feelings getting hurt.

RE: Fireman Ed

I can't believe a Jets fan would hassle another Jets fan for wearing a Sanchez jersey. I mean, I have lost my confidence in MS, but would never begrudge another fan for keeping the faith in any player on the team. That's just ridiculous. But after hearing about some of the other things that go on at the stadium, I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Some Jets fans can be callous louts...

The 'ultimate' fan.  Thank you Ed for the years of dedication and unwaivering support for what has to be one of them ost difficult teams in professional sports to root for on an extended basis.

The more that comes out about this team the more that I am embarrassed for them.  So now it's fan on fan, instead of directing the anger and frustration at those who deserve and those who are the only ones that can change it - the entire organization from Woody on down.

RE: Fireman Ed

I feel for Fireman Ed, but Jets fans are known to be rotton, loud mouth jerks (and I say this as a lifelong fan). As far as fan on fan violence, not sure how many remember what happened a few years back when two jets fans got into a fight in the bathroom at Giants stadium with one guy stabbing the other because one of them had a pennington jersey on and the other guy didn't like pennington. Idiots! Also, I was in Carolina during a blowout Jets loss a few years ago and by halftime I was so disgusted with the Jets and the stupid Jets fans that I started rooting for the Panthers and even got a couple of loud mouth obnoxious Jets fans thrown out of the stadium for being drunk and loud and dumb (the Jets were lossing by like 4 touchdowns). Jets fans are bad. But the team is worse. devil

It's a shame. I am not a big fan of this fan base, for reasons like this.

Fireman Ed certainly has his flaws, but he did not deserve any of this. Yet another embarrassment.

Lol, that's pretty funny you would say that!  Not only has he helped tear the team apart but now our fans are fighting eachother and we are losing our celebrity fan, WOW!!!  Don't get me wrong, this team was going to be a disaster anyway, whether Tebow came here or not so he's not the reason for this disaster but he sure did'nt help the situation.  I will say this, it seems pretty obvious to me this Tebow-Sanchez thing has caused beef between the fans and caused Firemen ED disgust.  Without Tebow, it would of been the normal Jets fans misery but atleast we would all been together in our misery! Hopefully after Tebow, Sanchez, Rex, Tanny, Scott, Pace, Thomas, Holmes and many other dead weight players leave; Firemen ED will be back and we start rebuilding correctly.  Damn shame!

Grow a thick skin, Ed. No one's thrown punches your way from what I gather. Accept that there are Jets fans that's disgusted by the 2012 Jets and don't believe they'd beat freaking Notre Dame and you might sleep better at night.

The loudest one in the room is usually the weakest and b/c this self appointed mascot drew attention to himself, I don't believe makes him him the "most loyal, enthisiastic supporter . . . has had".  There are a lot of loyal fans and none should take a back seat b/c only one guy makes sure he parks at the far end of the stadium, puts on that tough frown and marches right through the parking lot and stops for NOBODY.  NY isn't the place to put yourself above all and then act like the victim when you receive some pushback.

Here is an idea, put the Harper jersey back on.  (and for those who witnessed him in the parking lot, the pushback was well before the Sanchez jersey.  He's not better or worse than any fan.  He just had a delusional ego)
