Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

Make them give us a 2nd round pick, which will be a high 2nd round pick cause the Rams will suck this year

questions have to be answered :
1- is Eli here for the next 5 years.
2- is Eli gone after this year.

this would determine what to do with nassib.

Yep.  If Eli plays like he has for the past 24 games then the Giants have some tough decisions to make.  I am keeping Nassib for now.

Why wouldn't the Rams just draft a QB?

+1. Why would they not make a move to get a QB now? Why throw the whole season away when their defense is really starting to come together? noidea

Rams have to be getting to the point of knowing that their QB is a guy that is injured all the time. Started right after his sophomore year, if I am not mistaken. I think he gets 14mil. In their minds, they may be movin' on. To where is the question more than if they are.

The Rams should trade for Mark Sanchez.

The same fans who would accept this trade would be the same fans who curse Reese for giving Nassib away, when Eli is done and we don't have a QB

Re: Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

The Rams probably start over at QB next season........

I could actually see Sanchez land in St. Louis next season.   He's already putting himself in a decent position to have an much better contract.   The Rams might have a good enough running game to get through the season with Sean Hill at QB.    I would be surprised if they didn't either trade or sign somebody off of the street before the season begins.

I give you credit for thinking outside of the box EMA.......but this ain't happening.    There's a part of me that would be interested to see what the Giants might get for Eli Manning in a trade during the offseason.    Watch them trade him to the Broncos and take over for a retiring Peyton.   :-)

That's probably not gonna happen because the Rams OC is the guy who messed up Mark Sanchez's career when he was the OC of the Jets.

Prisoners of the moment... Nassib has ZERO trade value. He has not played a single snap in a real game. Cousins has no value and he has 8 NFL starts. Just because a guy has a good preseason against 3rd stringers doesn't mean he's tradeable for a high draft pick....

Re: Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

No way we trade him....and even though he's played
against 2nd string....that has to stand for something

I even posted that with the way Eli hasn't performed this
preseason...our "Nassib" could very well end up as our
Jeff Hostetler!!!

Many bitched and moaned that JR really took a bump
on this pick...but he's hit some nice ones.

Let's see how the final game looks..
Eli will get 3 qtr's in more than likely...or about but
get Nassib in there against the first stringers just to
see what he's really capable of...and we might just
have something

Nassib has very little value at this moment, i doubt we would get even a number 3 for him. Also, with the way the O line looks, Eli might be running for his life back there and if he gets caught one too many times, God forbid, we will need Nassib. It's really not the time IMHO.

Re: Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

Maybe the Nassib of 2 months ago who was feared not capable of replacing Painter,
but the Nassib of today isn't going to be traded for a 2 draft choice. They might be grooming him
to replace Eli and we still need a #2 for this year.

And why would anyone presume Nassib could start playing for the Rams immediately
if it took him time to get acclimented here.

I think if the Rams are going the new QB route they will have to go for a veteran and I don't think
there are many of them available.

Cousins might be intriguing if they think he'll play this year and ultimately replace Bradford.

Re: Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

Why would the Giants trade Ryan Nassib just when he looks like he's finally starting to get it? That makes NO sense. He's been groomed to be the backup quarterback while Eli is the starter, and you have to imagine that he is also being groomed as the replacement for when Eli stops playing here. Nassib has looked good this preseason so that is promising but it also doesn't mean that he's the next QB of the Giants. They need to see him in regular season action in order to make that decision. I believe that if the Giants season is lost that we'll see Nassib in there for that very reason, to determine if this guy can actually be the next starting QB. It would save the franchise considerable money and time by having their next QB already on the roster and in the system. No way in the world they trade him unless they truly don't believe he has a chance to be the next QB.

Good teams rely on their stars,
Great teams rely on each other.

The rams will either try to make a move for a future QB now, or just play out the year as best they can and draft a new QB with the probable high draft pick next year.  But they won't wait until next offseason and trade for an unproven guy.  Its either now or draft their own.  If they are bad enough, there are 2-3 first rounders coming out next year, including Mariotta from Oregon who looks like he has the tools to be an NFL starter now.  So we will see, but I don;t see this deal happening.

Re: Can we trade Nassib to the Rams next offseason

I might be in the minority here, but Im not ready to kick Eli Manning out the door just yet. He's only 33. Yes, the new offense has looked poor, but lets see a few games before we say he cannot operate this offense.

Im also not ready to anoint Ryan Nassib as the future QB off looking good in some meaningless preseason games. I am very excited that he is progressing well and he could be the future. I also feel good he is the backup.

Im not trading a guy we are grooming right now, especially when you need a quality backup just in case (knock on wood it doesn't) Eli gets hurt.
