Re: Chris Snee announces retirement

Boy I think I got a little emotional watching that.   Chris Snee and Jumbo Elliott remain at the top of my list in terms of favorite NYG linemen.   To be able to play under Tom Coughlin for 10 years is hard enough…to do it while married to his daughter is something else.   Says a lot about his professionalism as well as his capability.    A lot has been made of his more recent failings as his body has started to betray him.   As many have pointed out, however, there might not have been a better RG in football over the past 9 years until things started to break down.

Thank you Chris Snee.   You will be missed.

Re: Chris Snee announces retirement

It's the right thing to do.....

Not just for his own health for the rest of his life...but
for his family.
Snee has been a workhorse for our team and he has stood
tall when called upon.
Like DD...Snee has had surgeries that now after hitting 30s
become lingering pains.
The body cannot recover as fast and heal to the point of
being able to bounce back.

Thank you from the bottom of my NY GIANTS heart for the
years you gave to the team and the fans.

Re: Chris Snee announces retirement

Chris Snee was Mr. Reliable.   Ever since he came to the Giants, he was easily our best offensive lineman. He started every game he played in and missed 1 game in 2011.  Last year, he only played in 3 games. But every week, #76 was out there and you knew you could count on him in pass protection and the running game.

Injuries to both hips shortened his career. But it was a great career where he was a key cog on the offensive line that helped the Giants win 2 Super Bowls.  He will one day find himself in the Giants Ring Of Honor!

His emotional press conference today shows what kind of humble human being he really is.

Class act all the way!

Thanks for the memories, #76!

Re: Chris Snee announces retirement

Too often people let the "what have you done for me lately?" line creep into their heads when it comes to a player's performance. We expect greatness all the time. Snee wasn't himself the last two years, but before that he was a great guard and the Giants surely wouldn't have won two Super Bowls without him. Hats off to him and now, as a fan, I turn my attention to see who will play RG this season and beyond.

Good teams rely on their stars,
Great teams rely on each other.

For a few years there, Snee was maybe the best guard in the NFL.  He had a great career -- a great Giant.
