What is the Giants best and worst unit?

What is the Giants best and worst unit?

Until they prove themselves the O - line has to be considered the worst group at the moment. Right now I would go with the the receivers as the best with a very promising rookie in Beckham, Cruz in top form, the return of Manningham(if healthy) and Randle ready to step up.

Secondary has to the best. I have been a fan for 35 years. This is the best secondary that I have seen in terms of depth and talent. Worst unit is either LB or oline. I would go with LB at this point. I think we did enough to upgrade the oline. Not to the point where it is a strength, but good enough to where I don't think it is a weakness.

Best - secondary
Worst - D line.  Where is the pass rush coming from?

The pass rush should come from a healthier JPP and better pass coverage which will force the opposing QB to hold on to the ball just a little longer....

RE: Pass rush
I think the interior will provide rush insomuch I think Hankins will be a better rusher than Joseph from iniside and Jenkins still good.
JPP can be a force and I believe Moore will be a situational Osi type.

Best unit: Defensive backfield. If everyone stays healthy they can run out four "good" corners all at once. That is very rare and should be a huge asset for this team. (DRC, Thurmond are both Pro Bowl-caliber players and I don't think that Amukamara is that far behind them. McBride was close to being their best corner last year so he's not far behind Amukamara. I'm anxious to see how some of the younger corners will do in camp as there were good reviews on them in mini camp. Then you factor in the safeties and, boy if Will Hill had just kept his head straight we'd be talking about one of the all-time secondaries here. Instead we have Rolle and Brown as the veteran starters with Quintin Demps adding veteran depth, and then a young talent in Cooper Taylor also backing up. If Taylor can progress, then the loss of Hill won't be as bad.

Worst unit: I'll go with the offensive line. Yes, it was upgraded, but that isn't saying much. No clear cut starter at right guard presents an issue and the HUGE question mark of Will Beatty at left tackle cannot be ignored or candy-coated. Beatty has two things to overcome. One is his awful season last year, and the other is a severely fractured shin in the final game last season. Safe to say that they better have options if he can't go. Charles Brown was awful with the Saints, so let's cross our fingers that Beatty can play and play well.

Good teams rely on their stars,
Great teams rely on each other.

Best Unit: Secondary

The Giants went out and wisely upgraded their corners when the league has turned into a passing league.  DRC, Prince, and Walter Thurmond is a solid trio on paper and should translate nicely onto the field.

Worst Unit:  Linebackers

With Beason injured, that takes a vital part of the communication out of the defense.  This is the one unit that has to produce because its a unit that has been under fire the past few years because of lack of talent.

The O-Line is not as bad as ur making it out to be.

Geoff Schwartz is a top 10 LG. Justin Pugh is a Top 10 RT. JD Walton is an above average center.

That's 3 solid players out of 5 that we can rely on.

Beatty will be better by default (and playing with Schwartz next to him)

Our OL is fine. Relax. We've had much worse OLs recently than the one we have now (2011-2013)

Our 2014 OL looks much better than any of our OLs from 2011-2013

IMO

Best - secondary
Worst - OL b/c LT is a huge question.

I think it is fair to say our OL is the worst until they prove themselves...in the end, I do think they will be fine.

In my opinion, the LB'ers are the worst unit.  But LB is also a position that is less important in today's league...particularly in Fewel's defense.
