4 TD`s in 12 quarters.....

4 TD`s in 12 quarters.....

Or 4 TD`s in three games that`s how many TD`s the Giants offense has scored, none against the Eagirls, two against the Raiders and two against the Packers. Brown has sparked the Giants running game and has added a new weapon to Eli`s arsenal but he cannot carry the load all by himself, the Giants need to find other ways to score TD`s instead of FG`s and avoid the redzone woes that have been plaguing them for years.

Re: 4 TD`s in 12 quatrers...

"Heading into their Week 11 game with the Green Bay Packers, the New York Giants defense had only allowed one touchdown in their last 14 quarters played. Now after their game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon, they've only allowed two touchdowns through their last 18 quarters played which has resulted in a four game winning streak."

-Doug Rush Giants.com

4 > 2 = 4 straight wins

Nicks is the answer to the questions "What happened to the explosive Giants offense?"

The line is beginning to hold it's own, now it's up to the playmakers to make plays.

The fact that Eli has to turn to Louis Murphy and Reuben Randle in the redzone speaks loud and clear regarding Nicks' absence.

If he steps up and plays like Nicks, the Giants will score like we all expected they would.

Why? Because his production will open up all of the other options, and soon Eli will be able to spray the ball all over the field the way that he has in the recent past.

Nicks must once again become the dangerous weapon he`s always been in the redzone.

The Nicks Fade...doesn't work much anymore.

Not when there isn't much separation and Eli chucks the ball in bad spots

What happened to the in route where he positions himself inside the defender and uses his big hands /body to make a play?

RE: 4 TD`s in 12 quatrers...

Rich, I was thinking the same thing.  Part of the problem is that Eli's accuracy is not what it had been for the past several seasons.  There was one play yesterday that Eli overthrew Nicks on a fade that I think would have been successful. A long pass to Cruz that was defensed would have been a TD is it was not under thrown.  With that said, they need to find other ways to use Nicks in the red zone.

As many prior posts have said, the play calling in the red zone is often a head scratcher.  The Giants were running with success on GB yesterday yet on one series inside the 10 they suddenly decide to start passing.  One major factor in the red zone seems to be the absence of Myers or any other TE in the red zone.  With all of that said, I do have confidence that the Giants run game has gotten to a point that they can run it in from inside the 10.  However, there is no question in my mind that there could be more creativity in terms of the plays designed for the red zone.

Re: 4 TD`s in 12 quatrers...

When they are in the redzone I would like to see them line Cruz and Nicks up on the same side, and then run a rub (or pick) where Cruz (lined up inside) runs a Z and heads toward the corner and Nicks (lined up outside) runs a inside slant.

The idea is that they are meeting at the point of the Z pattern sight before Cruz heads to the corner.

It actually becomes whoever bites the opposite receiver gets the ball. But I think it opens up the middle for Hakeem and gives him the opportunity to score.

Re: 4 TD`s in 12 quatrers...

If I am understanding the Z pattern correctly, I am thinking that getting the ball over the linebackers would be the main challenge in terms of hitting Nicks or the outside receiver.  Cruz gets so much separation on his cuts that I think he would be the primary receiver.  Obviously protection is a key as well.

You know when you read an absolutely opinion when this guy posts. If, If, If?! Smh! The line is beginning to hold its own? LMFAOOO!!!!! Smdh! Really!? Explain the 4-14 on third downs yesterday. Explain Brown's 3.7 ypc yesterday. Explain Brown's 3.8 ypc (on a good day) last week. Explain Brown's inability to score yesterday. Explain 27 sacks allowed by the OL, 4 against GB. I'm tire of bias opinions. Talk facts for once man! Smh!

I forgot another nugget. Explain the 8 TFL for GB's D. Yeah man! Our OL is definitely beginning to hold their own. Lol! Wow! Smh!

No they`re not, Eli is taking a beating and he`s looking nervous every time he drops back to throw a pass, Andre Brown is making the OL look better than they really are.

Re: 4 TD`s in 12 quatrers...

The Defense has carried this team on the four game winning streak.  But let's be honest, they have caught a break with the offenses they've played.  With that said, I thought they played good enough to win in the first 6 weeks, but the offense and specials didn't do their part

The offense went from a turnover machine that looked totally out of sync to an efficient offense that has a nice mix of run and pass.  The offense needs to start scoring more TDs instead of FGs with the Giants playing Romo, Griffen III and Rivers the next three weeks.

The Oline needs to get their act together, now that the Giants  thanks to Andre Brown have a running game all they have to do is give Eli the protection he needs to find his recievers.

They tried it. Eli threw it 5 yards out of bounds.

Re: 4 TD`s in 12 quarters.....

I brought up this EXACT issue  on the other thread
about the "defense" not allowing TDs in the last
3 or so games.

We're a JOKE concerning this fact of OUT offense.
If not for JPP...frankly we should have lost.

Our secondary gave up a BUNCH of yards to a
3rd string!!!

-Doug Rush Giants.com-noidea VERY OBVIOUS! NO INCITE!

4 > 2 = 4 straight wins noidea IS THIS STACKING MATH?

Nicks is the answer to the questions "What happened to the explosive Giants offense?" -- Much deeper than that, a feeling of TRUST has been eroded between Eli and his line and his receivers.

The line is beginning to hold it's own, now it's up to the playmakers to make plays.

The fact that Eli has to turn to Louis Murphy and Reuben Randle in the redzone speaks loud and clear regarding Nicks' absence.

YEA What happened had Nicks been benched at that point? And who noticed Brandon Jacobs yelling at him on the bench-- Did Nicks take himself out??? where is the follow up here?

If he steps up and plays like Nicks, the Giants will score like we all expected they would.

Why? Because his production will open up all of the other options, and soon Eli will be able to spray the ball all over the field the way that he has in the recent past.

Man this is like reading Chinese. I don't understand anything here. I'm just  going to take a guess Smdh is 'Saving Mundane Dung Hourly' and Smh is ' Slap My Hiney '

The Nicks situation is mysterious as heck. Why didn't they move him for a draft pick?

(a) Did they know he wouldn't pass any physical and are they not telling us and everyone something?

(b) Do they think they have him where they want him contract wise... at one point Hakeem was thinking 3rd highest paid receiver in the league type numbers... now he'll get far less. And are the Giants secretly kind of happy Hakeem is bombing out?

(c) Cruz is being double teamed a lot there is no excuse for Nicks other than semi ruptured leg bone or something?

As for Nick's behavior on the field, I detected something Game One which was Hakeem was talking a lot this year. All smiles when the big hit just missed him or all smiles when the ball goes through his hands... a witty back n forth with rookies and low life's on defense... this is a dead give away. This is the behavior an athlete covering up something, compensating for a perception everyone had on his talent level because he could not naturally let his skills do the talking for him. ~stoney

RE: 4 TD`s in 12 quarters.....

The 1990 Giants scored about two touchdowns a game and went 13-3. Does it matter? The fact is that the Giants have beaten four NFL teams, four weeks in a row. If you think the losses are diminished because they weren't playing Denver, Kansas City, Seattle and San Francisco, well that's on you. NFL teams are all quality opponents. Even Jacksonville has won a game this year and been competitive in several others. Even Tampa Bay has won two in a row and looked good while doing it. The Packers are a good team. The Eagles are in first place. The Raiders are a decent team. How are those three wins not real?

If you want to say the Giants stink and wait for them to stumble, that's your choice. I'm excited about how the team is playing and I am looking forward to Sunday.

Good teams rely on their stars,
Great teams rely on each other.

Who would you rather go up against? Brees, Rodgers and Peyton Manning or Tolzien, Freeman and Pryor? No one is saying that those four wins aren`t real but there`s a good chance that if it was Rodgers playing last Sunday instead of Tolzien the Giants would`ve lost that game and the same can be said about the Vikings game. It`s an undeniable fact that the Giants ALWAYS struggle when they get into the redzone . The Giants have a slim to none chance of  making it to the playoffs this season but they need to score more TD`s instead of FG`s or they will be watching the playoffs from the comfort of their homes.

I feel like Randle has become the green zone guy on the team.    He seems to be the guy that can get open fairly regularly in the tight space.   I do think Nicks has lost a step......but I still think he could find his way to the EZ eventually.    Sometimes that is just bad luck.......he's open.....Eli misses......he's open....he's not the primary receiver.

Honestly........we have 3 monster RBs right now.     I line up AB, BJ, and Hillis.....get 2 TEs out there with John Connor and just mush that ball into the EZ.    I really don't think we need to rely on get passing TDs when we are in TC's green zone at this stage.

And Dallas has a beaten up defensive line and no Sean Lee. I'm hoping we're running it down their throats all day.
