Bradshaw Has Been Released.

Good Move here....  He is breaking down... we can find just as an effective back at much less $$.

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

I don't know if we can find an equally effective RB for less cash yankee.    I'm a little surprised by this, to be honest.   I thought Ahmad would be safe.    We currently have 5 RBs on the team ex-Ahmad.....Wilson, Andre Brown, Da Rel Scott, Ryan Torain, and kregg Lumpkin.    We might go to war with that in 2013.   Hmmmmm.

Francesca is reporting Canty is getting chopped as well.

Pretty bold of JR to potentially get rid of a few of these guys after a 9-7 season post-Super Bowl.   Not going to lie.....I kind of like it.    I don't think our mgmt can be happy with how hurt are team seems to be at times.....and the higher paid characters that are constantly nicked do not seem to be long for this roster.    We are also in the FAR stronger Conference and need a healthier and more athletic roster to compete with these up and coming squads.

The only exception may be Tuck.......I really don't think he's that expensive.   He's also not pulling an Osi every year and complaining that he's underpaid.

Diehl HAS to be on his way out the door.   I have no issue with that.....I am comfortable turning the page there....we'll see if it happens.

I am a bit surprised too .
I thought we can hang on to him as a veteran leader grooming his replacement .

Don't like releasing Bradshaw. He's a true leader and comparatively speaking, not that expensive. Does this mean they can't renegotiate and bring him back?

They could absolutely try and re-sign him.........not sure how his market would be looking.

He is a leader......but most RBs after year 6 or 7 and multiple injury filled seasons tend not to be long for 1st string production....his contract was in that neighborhood.   It is too bad though.....I liked AHmad.

Lumpkin is a UFA.

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

Bradshaw gave us some good years, nothing but respect for the guy and I know he will get healthy and will find another job, hopefully not in the NFC though lol

But Wilson seems like he is ready to become a breakout star plus Andre Brown will be back healthy, maybe find another hard running one-cut-go type of running back in the draft kinda like how Washington found Alfred Morris and the Ravens found Bernard Pierce

And the HEADS will continue to roll...

Webster
Diehl

As the barber said.....WHO'S NEXT!!!

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

Even though I have learned it's foolish to second guess JR, I wish we kept Bradshaw. The guy has the heart of a lion. If EVERY guy played as hard as he did and with as much desire, the Giants would have just repeated as a Super Bowl Champs. Sometimes you keep a guy NOT because he has a big upside, which Bradshaw does NOT, but because he is a leader. Think the Giants offense just got a bit soft.

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

You simply can't keep a running back who's a potential no show every week, don't forget at seasons end he was shot plus more surgery at season end
If the Giants don't feel they have the running back on the team I'm sure they will draft one, they may already have their eye on some on  ,although free agency offers no relief they all will be too expensive. .it  isn't much of cap relief ,however it was time to let Bradshaw go , maybe they think they can resign him for a mill. wherever he goes it won't be for much salary.
Boley , Canty and Bradshaw gone they're might be a lot more to go, it was obvious this team was going downhill fast.

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

I thought the Giants would hold on to Bradshaw for one more year.  But the cut makes sense.  If he can't stay healthy, he isn't worth very much......And Bradshaw can't stay healthy.

I think the Giants will bring back Lumpkin, probably at league minimum salary.  With Wilson, Brown, Scott, Lumpkin and maybe Torain, the Giants are fine at RB and don't need to draft one.

Hold it, does this open the door for a Brandon Jacobs return at league minimum salary? Probably not, but the option is on the table.  I doubt Jacobs will get any major offers from anyone and would probably sign with the Giants for league minimum.  Still, I doubt this will happen, as the Giants will likely go with younger running backs.

Re: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

I like Bradshaw, but RB's are a dime a dozen.  Like most have said, he's always hurt.  Sucks but it is what it is.

Same with Canty / Boley.  You can't justify paying them what their due to make if you consider their on field (lack of) production.  My only concern is what's left on the roster behind them.  DT is wicked thin know and LB's have needed an upgrade for 10 years.

Shocked Diehl hasn't been cut yet.  Seems like a no-brainer.

RE: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

I thank him for the 2 superbowls he helped us achieve. He was a warrior who played his heart out when he was on the field. It's a damn shame he was injured a lot.

RE: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

Man I love Ahmad Bradshaw. I appreciate everything he has done for us. He helped us win two super-bowls. He was an elite pass blocker for Eli, an underrated HB catcher and he runs hard on every play. It sucks that he was cut. What sucks even more is Bradshaw just can't seem to be healthy.

Can we please cut David Diehl?

RE: Bradshaw Has Been Released.

Wow i am a little suprised about AB being cut..especially before Dhiel and maybe even Webster.  This is telling about the health of his foot/leg considering he cost less than some of the other dead weight.  Well if that is the case then i understand the Giants decision.

We will miss his leadership and toughness and thanks AB for your contributions to one of the best chapters in Giants history.  Same to Boley and Canty.  But DD had better be cut or restructure if AB has been.

Jacobs ? OH please tell me the Giants under any circumstances would ever bring that malcontent player back.
I believe the Giants were very happy to say adiós to Jacobs. I sincerely hope that broken bottle can't be redeemed for even 5 cents.
Bradshaw if he gets no real offers may come back for a lower base salary with incentives. however I'm sure other teams will also offer him that type of contract
When healthy he's a very good back, I could see him landing with the Jets he's far better than anyone they have at RB.
If that did happen God forbid I wouldn't be able to wish him good luck. I don't want any player to improve the Jets. sorry Ahmad.
