Frank Gore: Loss to Giants last year hurt because...

"We were the much better team."

In case you were not sure who to root for on Sunday, LET'S GO RAVENS!

Were you the much better team this year when the Giants whooped your *** 26-3 in San Francisco in what every 49er fan and player called the revenge game for last years playoff loss to the Giants?

If he said last years NFC Championship Game hurt because we thought we should have won the game, that's one thing but to say we were the much better team is pathetic.

Frank Gore said last years loss to Giants in NFC title game hurt so much "knowing we were the better team." #nyg

He's entitled to his opinion , it certainly isn't pathetic ,he didn't say it about this years game he said last years game. players often feel that way , every game is usually different.
Since I hate the Ravens (Ray Lewis factor) I certainly wouldn't root for them, they also kicked the Giants butt in the SB.
This Sb leaves me more than a little cold, since i don't like either the 9er's or the Ravens I just dislike the 9ers Less. It's very little less.
Sometimes in a game either a player or a coach will tee me off then i root for the other team or even a lousy call by the ref or his crew. Sad SB and I don't have a team in it I can relate too.

i agree with Eddie. It's just sore loser talk. Hopefully it will be motivation for us to shut them up next year!

The much better team usually wins in the playoffs. So if the 49ers were much better, why didn't they win last year?

Frank Gore logic makes no sense whatsoever. How are they the "better team" when THEY were the ones who lost to US?

Anyways, Go Ravens. I don't like the 49ers and I want them to lose. I was listening to espn 98.7 today and all the hype about Kapernick being the best QB to ever play the game? I feel bad for Alex Smith though. He is a class act.

Actually I like Kapernack, just as I like Robert Griffin lll however, I hate both the Skins and 49ers. I followed Kapernack at Nevada for two years I went to a couple games when I was in Reno gambling. He is the real thing, I wish the Giants could find a back up like him it would expand the offense like you would not believe, thing is that the Giants have much better receivers than the 49ers.coolcoolcool

Also they've already had their sports championship parade months ago.  I don't think a sports city has had multiple victory parades ever.  The only one that could've happened, Mayor *** stuck it to Bergen County.

People will believe what they want to believe.  Whatever.  We know it's not true and the world knows it's not true so who cares what he says.

He's a punk and his team is a bunch of punks. Their coach is a jack @ss too. I hope Baltimore kicks their butts, and I hoped that before reading about this. I'm sick of people saying that the Giants were lucky last year. They weren't lucky, they were the best team. To prove it they went into SF this year and kicked their teeth in.

Good teams rely on their stars,
Great teams rely on each other.

Funny how they couldn't prove they were the better team when they played us this past season.

Is that why the Giants have won 3 of the last 4 against you Mr. Gore?    And we were on our way driving for a tying score in that one that we lost......so take it easy there buddy.

Regardless.......we didn't even make the playoffs this season.....so.....unfortunately.....people can take shots at us for not being as 'legit' as we may deserve to be acknowledged for.

RE: Frank Gore: Loss to Giants last year hurt because...

I am as big a Giants fan as anyone, but I don't disagree with Gore on this one. If anyone remembers back to that game, the 49ers overall played the better game and should have won. It was only because of 2 fumbled returns that they lost. And how often does a player fumble a punt return in the league, let alone twice! It was a fluke that the Giants were able to take advantage of.

You could say that you are only as good as your worst player or that the better team always wins, but when it comes down to it, the 49ers came into that game the better team and played the game like the better team. The Giants were just the luckier team. And as the old saying goes...sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

I am thrilled that the Giants won that game and took the Super Bowl, but lets not view history through blue and red glasses.

Watching the conclusion of the SuperBowl this Sunday will be rewarding with either outcome.

We get to either see Ray Lewis moping around after the loss...or the 49er's team.

It's a win-win for Giant fans.
