Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

but did the Giants, and the rest of the NFC East, just get a pass for next season? I see he is back on the sidelines but if his ACL is torn that is at least a year to recover (unless your name is Adrian Peterson)

and as much as I hate to see someone like Griffin injured it would sure be a smack in the face to Danny-Boy Schneider

amazing how things can change so fast in the NFL ...

ACL tears(if that is indeed what he has) can take as little as 7 months to heal. RG3 is young and in great shape, no reason to believe he will miss next season.

RGIII is fun to watch, when he's not playing the Giants of course!  His knee injury looked serious but I hope he can play next year.  Never want to see a player hurt.

Seems like there is a controversy in Washington where Shanahan said the doctors cleared him to play and the doctor (James Andrews) says he didn't.

That would piss me off if I was a Redskins fan and if true.

And what is up with that red shed that RGIII kept going into?

I don't think so because the Redskins will most likely try to fix what is wrong, and that is mainly on defense. This loss fell squarely on their defense. They were unable to stop the Seahawks on offense. A healthy RGlll wins this game as far as I am concerned.coolcoolcool

He couldn't run or pass off that leg.

Shanahan is a dope. He obviously played the kid when he should not have...

Backup would have given them a chance to win. Cousins is a good QB and should have been in after half time....

He will be back fine .....but that is what you get with a running QB....risk/reward

I said he would be injured by the end of the season and he will never complete a season as long as they are running that Gimick offense.

Griffin has talent for sure, but how long can he last at the NFL level if they continue this offense?

This is why we will never see H.S. football in the NFL.

RE: Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

I doubt this is an ACL, so I assume he'll be fine for the season.

Redskins will be less "gimmicky" on offense next year with RG3 having a year of experience and what I suspect will be a big FA WR pickup in the off season (Fitzgerald, Wallace, etc.). Part of the reason RG3 had to run today is because other than Garcon, they have no WRs that can hope to get open against good corners. That's going to change. Morris looks like a keeper for a good number of seasons, so don't count them out too quick.

On the postgame show on NFL  Network, Deion Sanders said that you would go in there to get shot up with painkillers...  He is also a former Redskin.

Re: Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

He's a good kid with a ton of talent. I was dumbfounded watching the game and wondering what the heck is he doing playing. He has put his career longevity in question here.

Undoubtedly he tore his ACL and damaged his cartilage. What was really a shocker was Dr. Andrews saying he NEVER examined him before he went back in the Baltimore game, and felt he was coming back too soon. So either Shanahan or Andrews were lying. I'd go with the former as the lier.

These young spread option QBs will not have long careers. They will get away with a lot, but sooner or later they will also get nailed.

Hate to face the talking heads in the DC media if your named Mike Shanahan. Exactly why was RG3 in the game after busting his knee weeks ago and then playing nowhere near 100% healthy.

Re: Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

Playing injured players has become a pet peeve of mine.  Not because of risk of further injury, rather because hurt guys simply don't play well!

We've seen this with the Giants this year also.  Nicks, Snee and Bradshaw.  Sometimes guys are just too banged-up to impact the game. No matter how much we WISH that they will be able to make plays, they simply can't do it.  In instances like RGIII against Seattle, they would have been better cutting their losses and putting Cousins in, especially after Griffin went down on the sidelines.

Too often we see guys who are trying to gut-it-out but are just not effective.  In those instances a healthy sub would be a better option.  But maybe that is just me.

This video above deserves honorable mention. It is well-debated. Dr. Andrews do have an agenda.

Re: Honestly ... HATE to see RGIII injured ...

Why RG111 remained in a game when it was so obvious he couldn't play at remotely like an average QB was mind blowing
Putting Cousins in when the horse was out of the barn boarders on lunacy.
In the end I hate the 49er's more than Seattle (even though I can't stand either coach) but I knew the Skins wasn't going to have RG111 if they won and i don't want 49er's to have an easy passage to the championship game.

Shanahan is a fool.
A QB with as large a brace on his knee as RGIII had? C'mon man!!
His career is now in jeopardy, was it worth it?
You can't win titles with guys like Fran Tarkenton, Vick and RG. Sorry people, they are too vulnerable.
I don't care how big they are, or how fast, or how tough they think they are.
You get a few hits from a 300 pounder, your body will never be the same.
