one player in draft....Manti Te'o
is what the Giants desperately need! When's the last time we had a feared linebacker who commands respect and offenses have to game plan around? I want the Giants to rebuild with a quality defensive player that can be your inspirational leader as well as a highly productive one.
I know the Giants would have to trade up but I hope they look seriously into exploring this opportunity. I also think we will have serious cap room once certain players are either let go or take significant paycuts....Diehl, Webster, Boley, Tuck, etc.

Assuming we lose today (which is what i am anticipating we will probably pick around 12-17 range. I think he's off the board by then, especially given his senior season.
If he doesn't work out well, however, there's a chance he falls to us. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
And I hate trading up in the draft. Usually the price is just too high.

I feel like we say this every year about whoever the big name linebacker coming out of college is. Unfortunately, we all know we are drafting a defensive lineman in the first round.

6'2". 255lbs. 427 tackles in 4 years a ND.
this guy actually won the inaugural high school butkus award. and his 4 yrs at ND have been stellar.
needs the right scheme to flourish, as does any great or potentially great player.
so is that the NYG defense? idk

In order for that to happen the Giants would need to pull a similar move to the one they pulled when they drafted Eli but I just dont see Jerry Reese making that move, I just see him sitting on his *** waiting for the best player available to fall on his lap.

We have a better chance of getting LT back on the field than drafting T'eo

Teo could be the leader the Giants are looking for in the middle but he might not even be the best MIKE in college football let alone worth a top 20 pick.

Assuming his workouts are average he's gone in the top ten. I'd also like to apologize to the team. I thought they were going to lie down and lose, and they came out and played hard. Good for them.

RE: one player in draft....Manti Te'o
Would love to have a player like Te'o...if we switch to a 3-4 Defense! I think that is how players become BUST PLAYERS when you draft them and have them come in and change the way they been playing for the last 3-4 years in College, I think Te'o is a great LB in a 3-4 Defense!
Te'o will likely be long gone before we draft anyway unless he has some awful pre-draft workouts and even with Bad Workouts I don't think he will fall that far

Giants aren't getting Manti Te'o, so lets just cut the dream short here. yankeelover wrote: Margus Hunt, DE, SMU, 6' 8" 280 lbs.
Remember where you heard the name. Not in the 1st round. He might be there when the Giants draft in the 2nd round.

With Osi a sure goner and Tuck's play declining, the Giants will likely draft a DE.

He did say he wantede to play with his brother Michael). Plus they can move Kiwi back up to DE if they commit Tuck to being the 3rd DE.

Re: one player in draft....Manti Te'o
I sure love me some Te'o! He's the modern Junior Seau. They don't make like that anymore. Sigh! Te'o will be a top 5 pick. We don't suck that much to pick that high. There are others i.e:
Georgia LB Jarvis Jones (predicted top 5 but who knows?)
Alabama ILB/OLB/MLB CJ Mosley (returning for sr. seas) Scratch!
Oregon DE/OLB Dion Jordan (JPP esque but quicker freak of a athlete)
OSU DE/OLB John Simon
USC DE/OLB Morgan Breslin.
Honestly, for my taste? Te'o or Jones is exactly what we need @ the middle! The rest are pass rushers. Like I said of Te'o, they don't make 'em like that anymore. Rare breed!

FA pick up....Strongside LB from the Jag's Daryl Smith
If we're gonna have ANY impact player in 2013 draft.....#19 isn't gonna get it done.
We'll need to push up to 7 at least.

We should save the "trade for a Top 5 pick" bullet for when Johnny Football comes out
