Re: ***OFFICIAL Week #16 Game Thread -- Giants vs. Ravens***
Good morning, fans...ready to rock? Forecast apears to call for pouring rain. This is the first of our do-or-die games, and it won't be an easy one despite the Ravens looking shaky. Time for our vaunted, late-season "Road Warriors" personas to surface.
I don't count on any help from Saints or Eagles, none whatsoever. It never works that way. Anytime you depend on other teams to win or lose, you basically stay home. Take care of this game, and our playoff chances go up dramatically.
I wish, for once, we would go deep early and often, put them in the hole, and make Ray Rice a non-factor. Watch out especially for Pitta and the short passing game to both him and Rice. The Ravens D, for once in a decade, is not the fearsome force they were. I think the O-line holds them off Eli and opens some holes for Wilson, who may prove to be more valuable than AB today. Hynoski will be very valuable this game.
I look to Eli to get things straightened out, especially early in the game where we will need it most. If we don't, or can't, control this game by halftime/early third quarter, we're in trouble. Our LBs simply have to control Pitta, or we are going to lose the field position battle to dink-and-dunk tactics.
BTW: My bet is that Nicks, while not 100%, is in better shape than we are letting on. If he scares the secondary enough, then Hixon might be our biggest star today. I look for us to win a sloppy, frustrating game by virtue of a few big plays early in the game, and limiting Flacco's opportunities with a decent-for-once pressure front. Even in the rain, TO's alone won't decide the outcome.

All I want for Christmas is for the Giants offense to score plenty of TDs. Get TDs they win. Get FGs they lose.

Needless to say, and perfectly predictable, the Cowboys and Redskins are doing quite well after being down early. Expect NO help whatsoever.

Cowpies down by three at the half, Skins up by three at the half. Let us pray.

Tuck is inactive. I'm almost happy. I know he's been a great Giant, but his play hasn't helped the defense recently.

Which Giants team shows up today? The one that stomped San Fran and Green Bay or the one that got clobbered by Atlanta.

Re: ***OFFICIAL Week #16 Game Thread -- Giants vs. Ravens***
That short yardage bug has struck again. How frustrating it's been for the past two weeks... The Giants CANNOT convert short yardage 3d downs.

Re: ***OFFICIAL Week #16 Game Thread -- Giants vs. Ravens***
Yeah... there's a big problem. The offense can't convert short yardage and the defense can't hold teams in short yardage situations. The season ends today if this stuff doesn't get fixed.

They are showing Dallas/NO bonus coverage here in DC, which I thought was against the rules.

The tonic for any struggling offense is the Giants defense.

This defense is absolutely pathetic. I can't imagine what is going in with these guys the past 4-5 weeks. It's painful to watch this.

The "Hooker Defense" brought to you by Perry Fewell. This is where you lay down and give yourself up to your opponent

Wow!! Another 3d down failure or saved by a fumble. Clearly the knee is down. Another fail by this defense.

To me Gilbride gets a pass since we won two Super Bowls with him. Perry Fewell on the other hand, no dice. You suck and need to go.

Oh, screw this lousy football team! What a bunch of pansies! They don't give a damn about defending any title. Here comes Rice into the end zone through our sieve D
