I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants fan...NEVER!!!!

I thought that after the Bengals game I was upset and embarrassed but after watching my team the team I`ve cheered on for more than 30 years lay a goose egg and play the way they played today I can truly say that I`VE NEVER BEEN SO EMBARRASSED TO BE A GIANTS FAN, say what you want call me whatever the he!! you want you can call me a ton of names but I really dont care. Think about this, how can a team that scored 52 points last week couldnt score a single point today? Kevin Killdrive, what can you say about this freaking !diot he has to go along with Perry Fewell. The Giants are the defending SB champions but today they looked like a Giants team coached by Ray Handley. I just cant believe this, this was truly a MAJOR EMBARRASSEMENT FOR GIANTS FAN EVERYWHERE.ohlordohlordohlordohlord

I think you generally over react when you post but I can honestly say I'm 110% with you on this one. Problem is I think as fans we feel more embarrassed than the players do. This was a truly dissappointing loss to endure as a fan, there was no effort or pride on display today.

Right now we have to think on what`s better for this team and that is for them to finish 8-8 and miss the playoffs because a lot of changes need to be made, the Giants need to clean house and bring new blood get a good draft pick (wich I hope Jerry doesnt screw up) fix the many problems that have been overlooked like the LB situation, the D line and OT and PLEASE JUST PLEASE STOP THROWING MONEY AT OLD PAST THEIR PRIME FREE AGENTS IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!!!!

Re: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants

And so goes the rollercoaster ride that is the NY Giants football season.  You have a franchise QB in the prime of his career and you can't waste seasons not putting quality talent (and yes, Killdrive, that includes you too) around him.  The receivers are good, although Nicks worries me with his nagging health issues. At this point I would rather see Hixon getting more looks than Nicks. The O-line doesnt seem to get the push needed and open enough holes for the running game. I can't tell if the D-line isnt getting pressure on the QB like they have in the past because of the players (I am looking at you Tuck) or the schemes. I am not nearly smart enough to figure that out. I'll leave that to the rest of you to figure out. Although I am not surprised that Atlanta won today, I am a little surprised with the Giants seeming lack of preperation and execution, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Time to regroup and look to a Ravens squad that might possibly be playing worse than the Giants. In the meantime, the Bears lost! Now lets hope the Seahawks and Cowpies follow suit!

Re: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants

I think BigBluePR typically over reacts as well because there were certainly games in the 70's and 80's where we were much worse but back then I think everyone understood we were a bad team with poor talent.  What's frustrating about losing games like we did to the Bengals, the Steelers, the Cowboys, Eagles and Skins is that we have higher expectations for this group of players and coaches.

This was a total failure that most likely cost us a playoff spot unless we get some help but even then our inconsistency doesn't breed a lot of confidence.

I'd never say I'm embarassed to be a fan because I wasn't on the field laying the egg, but if I was one of those 53 guys dressed in white I'd be hanging my head.

Sweet Lord the other team gets paid to win too... This season obviously is proving to be more tumultuous than we wanted but I can tell you that fans in Cincinnati, Seattle, Jacksonville and Arizona would kill to have 'our problems'. This team has won two Super Bowls in very recent memory. Is there a chance they may need to do some significant roster turn over to stay relevant? Of course. That is the nature of the beast. This team STILL possesses young weapons at the wide out, a potential weapon at RB, a future HOF candidate at QB, and some very nice defensive parts. The road from here back to NFL prominence is not far AND they are not even out of the race this year! Get some bleeping perspective...

I think there is logic to jdub's comment.......this Falcons team actually played like a grizzled veteran playoff squad.....for a change.   They also have made philosophical improvements both on the offensive and defensive side and added a big veteran in Samuel to add a winner into their culture.    While our effort was putrid.......the falcons do deserve some credit for whupping us.

I just hope that some of the negative signs from this game to show up for the Ravens or Eagles game.   We might be able to get away with sucking in the Eagles game.....but we won't against the Ravens.    We'll see how it shakes out.

Missing the playoffs is not going to change their mindset. They are not the jets who will use making the playoffs as a false sense of hope. They will address what needs to be done regardless if they go 8-8 or lose in the first or second rd of the playoffs. Whether you agree with certain moves is a completely a different argument. They won't be lulled into a false sense of hope because they make the playoffs.

What veterans past their primes have they thrown all this money at? Just curious.

At least we had a defense back then that didn't give up 2 to 3 plays for 30+ yards or more per game.

But yes, i agree..Danny Kannell was terrible. As was Dave Brown, Kent Graham, etc. The early to mid 90's were some of the most dakest times I can remember as a Giants fan.

As bad as the Giants are playing right now, I will take Eli over any Giants QB including the infallable Simms.

Re: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants

The sad part is, as the Giants Offense evaporates the embarrassment, of the Brown Kannell primitive years...the Giants Defense hasn't evolve...all the hype, and can't match the success of the Offense.    I have more faith the Defenses of the Reeves, and early Fassell, did more with less.

RE: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants fan...NEVER!!!

whenever there is a bad loss it is justly named " the most embarrassed Ive been to be a NYG fan" , cmon , bad loses happen every year to every team. but when it happens to us..its the most.... fill in the blank...cmon you got to do better than that IMO.

and in the grand scheme , its a loss. and if this team wins their next two and goes on a roll, it wont be remembered, I mean cmon man, last year we lost 4 in a row and were creamed on monday nite by the saints. do you recall, are you ,w ere you , so embarrassed. i think not.

lets move on. fixing is needed, and hopefully itll happen.

RE: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants fan...NEVER!!!

This team has no direction
for fire to finish.
I put the blame from the top.

can't put much blame on JR..but
more on TC.
He's pissed for sure..but if he
won't get canned...someone else
better.

We LACK innovation on Offense to
make changes during game time.

We go from destroying TOP teams
SF
NO
GB
we lay the big one with teams...like
us!
How can you ride the roller coaster
from scoring big against GB..then
get thrashed by Cinn...only to annihilate
the Saints...to getting run out on a rail
against the Falcons.

I started a thread on which teams are stong
and my pick was Cinn. I think they're scary
because they have OL & DL lines that do the
job.

Personally I don't want the Giants to "just make it"
into the playoffs, I'd rather not get their.

We need a higher draft pic and that means 15 on down.

RE: I`ve never been so embarrassed to be a Giants fan...NEVER!!!

Big Blue PR..remember the poster we used to have here Dustya,,and every Friday he would start a thread,,we dont have a chance we are doomed, and it was like a rabbits foot we played great football and a few times we had to message him to remind him to make the post about the team ?
You seem to be doing the same thing but in reverse..and I feel for you, this roller coaster season must be taking a toll on you.Are there a lot of Giants fans in PR? And is there a lot of excitement about Cruz there?
