RE: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
"Lack of creativity by the offense and dumb penalties taken on offense and special teams."
Jim Cordle better be replaced on the return teams after that effort last night. He destroyed any chance for good field position with his stupid holding penalties. Awful!

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
Because of our inability to score touchdowns instead of field goals.

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
Defense B+ Even though it looked inept at times, it still only gave up 17 points Offense C play calling a D special teams F a really big F an F that you could see from 5 miles away . That's about as brief as i can be

Our offense only scored 16 points. Tom coughlin after the game said that he would never expect to beat anyone with only 16 points. yank5k wrote: Defense B+ Even though it looked inept at times, it still only gave up 17 points Offense C play calling a D special teams F a really big F an F that you could see from 5 miles away .

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
Penalties, poor green zone play, and losing the field position battle regularly cost us a victory.

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
Trading in touchdowns for FG attemps, poor special teams play, and PENALTIES!
Edit: personally I believe the refs called this game far too tight (on both sides) and it cost the Giants BIG.

That's about as brief as i can be Well I gave the offense a C, only because they had to overcome the horrible game plan , Even so I consider a C a bad grade for the offense . KG I gave a D.which is a very bad grade Tom said he wouldn't expect to win only scoring 16 but I bet Shanahan never thought he was going to win only getting 17 .

The importance of this game and how he went about the game-plan is atrocious.

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
I pointed out before this game that one of the keys to beating the Redskins would be to set up the run with the pass and pass on nearly EVERY 1st down! I don't know that I was right because the Giants did move the ball well on the ground last night, and they racked up a lot of yardage overall. However, the idea that taking the air out of the ball and playing a ball control game against a team with a strong running game of it's own...JUST to keep the ball out of RGIII's hands...IF that were their intentions...I totally disagree. I believe the Giants would have been far better off, opening it up and going for the throat a lot more (though Eli missed 2-3 BIG shots downfield to Nicks and Cruz)..and forcing the Redskins to play from behind. Hell, in the end, I can only guess based on what I saw last night...for all I know it could have been as simple as a few mistimed plays that cost them the game.

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
great feedback, thanks (especially to those who understand the one sentence concept, lol).
I am confused about this loss, and I wanted to hear other points of view, but my one sentence would probably be..
Conservative play calling in the 2nd half.
Although I did like CTGiant's answer... ...because we missed a FG, lol.

Re: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
WHY Have We Not Discussed This Years T-Shirt Design? One sentence. Go..... First off Biggie when I read your post there I thought your one sentence was Go....and then you had a brain aneurysm. Which I could understand. There is no one sentence that can sum up the reasons we lost. Obviously it's something to do with the Game Plan & The Defense & the O Line. In generaL WE SHOWED UP WHICH IS MORE THAN I can say for the Steeler & Bengal games... but together here in a cluster we have a lot of bad losses don't we? The editors are back in touch we me now-- they want my story again-- the one on Coughlin's dismal late season record and the whole 'What Would Bill Parcells Of Done?' I told them to F themselves. I'll take the loss. You see I like to be ahead of the curve not swinging blindly behind it. This year has been full of doom and dread we need a BLACK colored shirt this year I think-- no gray, no blue. Have you seen the special shirts G-Men is making up-- I don't especially like them but I like the idea of working some black into the color mix of my Giant regalia. How About: " BUILD-A- F*ING-BRIDGE! " Underneath a big shot of the GW bridge and then either a list of championship years with one open space or cartoon figures; big headed figures of Eli & Bradshaw & Nicks laying bricks beneath and Osi Tuck and Rolle & JPP scaling the sides of the bridge with climbing gear. And rolling across the hardtop in an open convertible-- Coughlin & Gildbride... riding... riding... is it across the bridge to the NFL offices for the draft? Or just out of town? you decide. ~stoney

RE: WHY Did We Lose to the Redskins?
How about this for an honest, straight forward answer: They Wanted It More.
Second half they came out and played like their season was on the line (because it was) and they beat the Giants. Plain and simple.
Good teams rely on their stars, Great teams rely on each other.
