(R) Mary Kiffmeyer tells Rep. John Kriesel that he lacks courage

(R) Mary Kiffmeyer tells Rep. John Kriesel that he lacks courage

As most know, Rep John Kriesel lost both of his legs to a roadside bomb in Iraq. Rep Kriesel is a republican who has drawn criticism from his own party (in part) due to his efforts in favor of the Vikings stadium bill. Here is an excerpt from an email that Kiffmeyer sent to John Kriesel when the stadium bill vote didn't go her way:

She claimed that Rep Kriesel "Not only no clue but no courage to run again and be accountable and see what your district thinks."

minnesota.publicradio.org/coll...an_at_the.shtml

Needless to say Mr. Kriesel is pissed (and I don't blame him). Here are some I his tweets from last night:
"@johnkriesel: Just received the most classless email from Rep. Mary Kiffmeyer. I will do whatever I can to make sure she is not re-elected. Classless lady"

"@johnkriesel: I would consider taking out a second mortgage on my house to donate to whoever is running against Mary Kiffmeyer. #mnleg"

"@johnkriesel: From Mary RE: Stadium: "Not only (do you have) no clue but no courage to run again and be accountable and see what your district thinks."

"@johnkriesel: Thanks for all the kind words. FYI, Mary Kiffmeyer's email address is rep.mary.kiffmeyer@house.mn dont be afraid to tell her what you think."

Well I har already emailed her. With Mr. Kriesel being a huge reason that we're on our way to getting a new stadium, a fellow Vikings fan and most importantly the sacrifices he's made......I say we let Kiffmeyer know that this isn't cool!

Representative Mary Kiffmeyer (R) District: 16B

* 501 State Office Building
100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Saint Paul, Minnesota 55155
651-296-4237 or 800-920-5875

E-mail: rep.mary.kiffmeyer@house.mn

I'm a Republican and it's shameful how this party is now. Crude and clueless.

I am a lifelong democrat so take this as you may but its not the whole republican party. It's a line of thought in the party. And it runs in the dem party too. There are a lot of good republican party members and I can say that even if I don't agree with their ideals. Kriesel is one who stood up against the common thread of his party on gay marriage and the stadium. Guy has courage.

Don't take it personally. I'm pretty much just a jerk.

I hope you call and email her! And it doesn't matter if you're in her district (or even live in Minnesota)! She needs to hear from Vikings fans! Hell, she needs to hear from everyone!

I agree...and I'm really hoping that this doesn't get moved due to politics. The main point here is that Kiffmeyer is a piece of ****.

Just emailed her, so sick of the selfish childish way some of these new breed of (R) represent which they dont - they dont do anything.  Sorry for my rant, I think Bakk called out these folks in the closing statements.

I don't trust any of them because they are all beholden to someone.

Re: (R) Mary Kiffmeyer tells Rep. John Kriesel that he lacks

I am a Republican...or at least I vote Republican most of the time...but what she said to Rep. Kriesel crosses the line. This is the email I sent  to Rep Kiffmeyer

It is people like you Ms. Kiffmeyer that are giving Republicans a bad name. To say that Rep. Kriesel has "no courage" is beyond pathetic. Good luck getting re-elected when you say something like that to an Iraqi War Vet, who lost his legs serving our country. His service in Iraq  is a level of courage that you have no concept of. You, Ms. Kiffmeyer, are everything that is wrong with politics in this state. Even though I am a Republican I am going to donate money to the person running against you in November. Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself if being a sore loser is really how you would like your children or anyone close to you to act. So please try and get some class and stop badgering someone who was on the opposite end on an issue with you. I assume you understand that the political process in this state and our country allows for differing opinions and you are not always going to "win" or be right on every issue, correct?

You and the rest of your sore loser bunch (Nienow, Thompson, Limmer, Hann and the like) can take your grandstanding and whining and go home and get ready to here from the voters come November.

One more thing, After Nienow's clown show and look at me...look at me act..... I am seriously reconsidering my loyalty to this states Republican party. We need more leaders like Julie Rosen and Morrie Lanning who can take a practical look at the issue's and get things accomplished. Take a note or two, please.

Wow dpmg500k....that is a great letter. I'm glad you wrote that to her. I really like the way you worded that. I strongly encourage others to do the same. This lady need to here from all Vikings fans, all Minnesotans and any patriotic American. According to several tweets and responses on the MPR article, this using the first time she's acted like a buffoon.

Thank you to any and all fans that took a second to write to her!

Courage? She challenges the COURAGE of Kriesel? This may well be the poorest choice of words I've ever heard. Challenge the courage of an Iraqi war vet that lost both of his legs and watched friends die?! My blood boils just thinking of this.....she doesn't get her way with the stadium bill so she acts like a 5 year old...pisses and moans then questions the courage of a man whose courage can not be questioned.

The lady is an elected official so she is obligated to represent those who elected her. She can't be blamed for doing the bidding of her constituants can she?  Oh, forgot where I was there for a moment. Scuse me.
She was out of line with her comments, but that hardly makes her 'clueless;.

Re: (R) Mary Kiffmeyer tells Rep. John Kriesel that he lacks

She called John Kriesel clueless. And her comments are absolutely atrocious. I'm sure we'll hear some bullsh*t (half hearted) apology this week. I haven't seen anyone on her lambast her for her vote. I've seen her get blasted for her immaturity in dealing with something that didn't go her way and her tantrum....but mostly her horrible comment.

*by the way....Mr Kriesel (who apparently lacks courage according to Kiffmeyer), was awarded a purple heart and bronze star.

I don't disagree with the OP, it was classless. But I think we are the clueless ones.

We elect these officials into office off vague promises. You'll hear keywords come election time, you wont hear about floor votes. As frustrating as the GOP and republicans willingness to put up road blocks (more like spike strips) up was, they really helped shaped the bill into something that was a better deal for the state.

We are all going to donate to her opponent! Who is that? What do they stand for? ... it doesn't matter? noidea

The job she holds is too important for an emotional reaction. It is pretty classless to tell a wounded warrior that he has no courage, but keep her position in context. Look at her voting record outside of the Vikes stadium. Look at her opponents voting record. Pay attention... it's too easy to get distracted and throw your votes around.

RE: (R) Mary Kiffmeyer tells Rep. John Kriesel that he lacks cou

Looks like this guy will be running against Kiffmeyer...Kriesel should have no issue supporting him with his background:

Paul Perovich has flown helicopters in the Army, navigated the nighttime skies of northern Iraq in an F-16 Falcon for the Air Force and taught many other Army and Air Force recruits to do the same.

Perovich
After 22 years in the military and 19 years with American Airlines as a pilot of Boeing jets, the Big Lake Township man would like to pilot a seat in the Minnesota Senate.

He had thoughts of running against Sen. Dave Brown, R-Becker, but he’s been redistricted into Senate District 30, which Rep. Mary Kiffmeyer, R-Big Lake, has her eye on.

“Dave’s done nothing,” he said, adding his concerns with Kiffmeyer run even deeper, with her involvement with the American Legislative Exchange Council (A.L.E.C.) and her push for the voter ID amendment.

Perovich has won the Senate District 30 DFL endorsement. He was selected on a unanimous vote of the 62 delegates in attendance. He did not have any challengers for the DFL nod.

Those who endorsed him are quite high on him. “He’s a real formidable candidate,” said Nancy Schumacher, chairwoman of Senate District 30. “It is wonderful to have a candidate whose background is such a fit for our area that he will serve the needs of SD30 perfectly.”

Way overblown, wow, if this Guy wasn't a Vet who lost his legs this wouldn't be in issue, that's why the journalist had to put it in his story. I would have had no idea he lost his legs otherwise and would assume she said he lacked courage because he voted yes when he was leaning towards no.

It's not like he has a history of playing it up.  Oh wait he does, remember the Bernard Berrian fiasco where he was told to sit down and shut up on twitter?

But if this moronic ho is an ALEC money pit, she deserves to go anyway.

What would Jared do?
