Re: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

I'll admit he may of actually won this game for the vikes but man he made a couple of plays that had they gone the other way you might be feeling a little different.

His fumble  and that throw that he made as he was being sacked that almost got picked off are just two examples of this.

He played a better game and he actually produced a win today.  Wright has to be given some credit as well he made some nice catches and kudos to the D as well.  Great Win!!!!

Re: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

No doubt about it, he was the reason we won the game...at least offensively.  He made some great pass plays today, good decisions (except for the toss to the sidelines that was almost picked), and he also ran the ball exceptionally well.

I maintained that if he plays well over the last 3 games he will be our starter next year.  These past 2 games he has done very well...lets give credit where credit is due.

Re: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

He was not the reason we won today.  He didn't play any better than average...

3 wide open plays on the first series.  He also tossed a should be pick six instead of taking a sack, and had a fumble that could have shifted the momentum.  If anything the DEFENSE won this game today.

It makes the head spin when "fans" think a play from their QB "should have" been worse.ohlord

Yeah, Ponder had issues under pressure today.  That's why teams pressure QBs.  Even Mr. "discount double check" has given us multiple safeties when we've been in his face...

...it happens.

Re: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

With the rest of the team playing the way they are there is no question that the vikings can only go as far as Ponder can take them.

He can make up for average WR's with better decisions and accurate passes.

Lets not get carried away.He forced some throws that Houston dropped. If they make those plays the board would be talking about the same old Ponder. The d won this game.

The Texans have averaged 28+ points a game.  Big defense today.  Their whole plan was to stop AP.

"Should be?".   You're pretty smart in the maybe, woulda, coulda world.

Too bad your an idiot in the real one.

No mention of his HUGE 50 yard scamper, nice 3rd down throws, nice TD pass, yeah...let's not talk about those.

DOLT
Fixed it for you.

I didn't say he played terrible.  I'm not the one claiming he carried us to a victory either.  You're an idiot in purple shades if you think he played great today.  He was average, including the huge 50 yard scamper and "nice TD pass"

Re: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble but Ponder is not the reason the Vikes won today. Ponder played a decent game but the fumble and the near pick when he should have taken the sack were huge. He made plays that he was suppose to make considering the texans sold the house and farm to stop AD. We knew and said all week that these plays would be available. Ponder managed the game well today but the defense and special teams won this game.

Isn't it fair to add that if Simpson, Carlson, and Jenkins had pulled in some passes they missed today, it would have shut up some haters?

Again, it blows my mind when the "coulda, shoulda" is always about wishing WORSE from our QB.

Gosh, what support.  Warms the heart.

RE: THANK HEAVEN FOR #7!!!!!

He absolutely IS the reason we won today. If the opposing D is going to commit 8 and 9 to stop the run the QB has to make them pay. That is what Ponder did today.

Yes the D was great but they had help as the offense controlled the ball and had time of possession on their side.

Great team effort but Ponder won this game!

It's a reflection of his mind set.  Much like throwing the ball back across the field.  If it works great.  But you will get beaten many more times than not.  That makes it something that should be avoided.

You know what they say, "Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".

Unfortunately, I fell into the trap today.

These 5 idiots that are pissed we not only won today, but won in large part to Ponder's play are done getting me to respond to em.

They can sulk over their Turkey and Ham...I'm gonna enjoy mine!!

THANK HEAVEN FOR #7 BABY!!!

VIKES WIN!

He's a top-10 draft pick who, at best, is a "game manager" quarterback.  Congratulations.

I agree it was a bad decision, but I want an explanation as to why it was HUGE. As in the outcome of todays game.
