How would you grade the Miami Heat experiment?

How would you grade the Miami Heat experiment?

heat collected the top talent in nba with LeBron / bosh / wade / allen.  $25 million over salary cap.   4 hall of famers on team.   yet they win only 2 titles in 4 years.    they have the most talent in nba for starting 5.

i'd grade them a  C- at best.     can't give F  cause they won 2 titles but can't give them anywhere near A  cause they had more talent and payroll then anyone.     Heat would of won title first year but LeBron did not show up in 4th qtr.

heat were in finals 4 straight years but reality is the eastern conf was horrible.   in west conf, they would not have made it but maybe twice.     Derrick rose & rondo injury made east conf easy path for heat  plus  heat took talent from cavs and raptors.

It wasn't just LeBron, the defense sucked and they need a point guard. LeBron can't do it all. Wade got old and their bench is so weak as well. But hey they got 2 titles. I give them a C+. Way to go Spurs! Their bench, defense and pace of the game dominated.

The 4 Finals are fairly meaningless considering the conference they are in. They've won two finals, which is the top achievement but considering the players they brought together I'd give it a C. For the time being it clearly vaults Duncan far ahead of LeBron in the overall rankings.

shouldn't it be a  F   cause LeBron promised  8 straight titles.      let me guess they need to spend more money and sign  Carmelo Anthony and other free agents......buy titles

That's what LeBron has created, for the rest of his career he'll either chase or beg other superstars in an attempt to maintain the façade.

You all are really undervaluing two titles and how difficult that is to accomplish.  As a lifetime Vikings fan, I'm pretty impressed with any champion, and back-to-back is no joke.  I root against the Heat every year, but I think it's pretty impressive to win your conference every season and throw in two championships.

Absolutely zero comparison to the modern NFL, it's a devalued 2 that's for sure.

F, F, an f'n F!!! Promises 8 titles and uses a lockout shortened season/weak conference for one, then a miracle from Ray Allen for another after choking his @$$ off. Failure.

basketball only has 5 players on court.   when you sign 3 guys for over $300,000,000,  you better win.  and 25 million over cap.   for nfl team, it would be like signing 15 top free agent starters and way over cap  (22 starters on off/def)

Hard to say four straight trips to the finals is a failure.

I would give it a solid C-.  With the hype machine that they created by signing 3 top 10 players with the best player on the planet they should have dominated the NBA.  Minus a Ray Allen miracle 3 they would have only 1 championship and would be 1-4 in the finals.  Giving them a C- is generous.

In a weak East. If in West they don't make 4 title games. Maybe 1?

not a heat fan, but they are contenders every year and already won two titles on four consecutive appearences in the nba finals. that is success if you ask me. ok so lebron is not michael. he is not a failure though. he is just arrogant is all.

i'll give them a B since they did get two titles out of  it. but playing in a weak conference helped, and when Lebron signed a few years ago i doubt they envisioned having to rebuild after winning "just" two titles. Jordan's Bulls they are not. not by a mile.

Reminds me of the George Steinbrenner Yankees. Buy talent, don't develop it. After a few years of success, struggle with a past-their-prime, over-paid team of stars. Become the team that everyone loves to hate.
