Kellen Winslow should be our next target

http://bleacherreport.com/arti...ption-for-miami

I hate Bleacher Report as much as anyone, but I agree 100% with this article.

"What Tannehill seems to be lacking the most is a safety blanket tight end who can be counted upon in the red zone. While Anthony Fasano is a decent blocking tight end who can make the catches he has to, he's not a playmaker."

"This is where the 29-year-old Winslow would be of immense help. At 6'4", 254 lbs, Winslow would be a huge target for Tannehill. While he's not as fast as he was at the beginning of his career, he has still been shown to be very productive. Last season with the Buccaneers, Winslow had 75 receptions for 763 yards and two touchdowns."

For what its worth... I went looking at what the story was with him and thats when I found this story. He is a shadow of his former self but can still be a very significant upgrade for us.

i really thought charles clay was going to be the guy this year for tannehill
but his been poor!!

i have no prob bringing in winslow instead of mastrud who sucks!

we have 2 roster spots open after the 3 cuts and 1 signings today
we need help at corner back as well ,maybe we go there before tight end??

Very True... There are some decent CB's out there too. Here is a list of FA CB's:

1. Leigh Bodden
2. Alphonso Smith
3. Chris Johnson
4. Zackary Bowman
5. Bryant McFadden
6. Trevard Lindley
7. Andre' Goodman
8. Kelly Jennings
9. Kevin Barnes
10. Kevin Thomas
11. Jerome Murphy
12. Jonathan Wade
13. Antwaun Molden
14. Lito Sheppard
15. Bryan McCann

smith, johnson, barnes, and maybe jennings i would have a look at !

carroll is at the bottom of the league in rankings ,and wilson is below mid pack
surely there is some one on that list better??
also whats this guy stanford like ,or his just a special teams player

but ireland brought in 2-3 cb`s last week and didnt sign any of them !! 1 has just signed for the jets [aaron berry]
instead he signed a special teams safety and a now released injured linebacker

marshall and carroll miss practice so Dolphins have promoted cornerback De'Andre Presley up from the practice squad, placing the former college quarterback at Appalachian State on the 53-man roster.

The Dolphins also signed former Ohio cornerback Julian Posey to the practice squad.

we still have 1 roster spot ?? havnt we???

Kellen Winslow would definitely be an upgrade at TE. It's a good thing this coaching staff hasn't made it abundantly clear that they don't want anything to do with players with problematic personalities, otherwise there would be a 0% chance of us signing him...

Yeah he is kind of Me first and i think he is being categorized into the same mold as T.O and Ocho. Head Case with eroding talent to compensate.

We actually have great coaching and chemistry on this team right now, I love the fight we have on this team and the last thing we need is someguy coming in here demanding passes thrown to him..  I would prefer to see what Clay and Egnew can develop into as Pass Catching TE's down the line.

Winslow is talented when he wants to be. He has 2 things working against him, bad knees & and a bad attitude. When he heard that Hernandez was coming back to the Patriots sooner than later, he asked to be released.

I still say that Shockey would be a good fit for you guy's. he went to the U, he owns a home in Miami, and he was a key TE for the Panthers last year. I think he easily has 2 years left in the tank.noidea

Go Jets...Cyborg

I think Winslow is only being considered based on name recognition. If the Patriots just released him and they needed a TE, I suspect he is pretty much worthless.

His knee is done. Besides, how does Clay and Egnew develop with Winslow here?
