Seriously... yeah, ridiculous thread. Our $2.5 million kicker missed another critical FG today. If anyone gets blame it's Jeff Ireland. He's the one who depleted our secondary to the point where we can't stop anyone. Our OL still can't pass block. If anything, I like Philbin's game today. I like going for it on 4th and goal. I like letting Tannehill unleashing the ball. this season doesn't matter. What matters is him learning how to win football games.

Re: Philbon is the goat for this loss!!
Fins played well enough to win but couldn't overcome the critical turnovers. Take away a pick-6 from last week and an untimely fumble today they have 2 more Ws on the year.
Coaching didn't lose today but Cards' D called the right blitz at the right time.
Last week different story...Hartline makes a highlight catch in OT and instead of pounding the ball 3 times for 6 yards where Carpenter is automatic Mike Sherman tries to make his boy QB the hero with 3 tosses to the end zone. Stupid.

Re: Philbon is the goat for this loss!!
hahaha, This team isn't even supposed to compete in these games against the jets, hot cardinals, or beat buffalo.Philbin is coaching his ass off here guys, I know he may have made a rookie mistake but he is doing a hell of a job getting these guys on this roster to play above their levels.
If you looked at this teams talent on paper we are supposed to be a 4-12 team that can't compete against really good teams.. We are doing this with a rookie QB also and nearly coming out with Wins against good teams.. (Well the jets aren't really good i guess)
Seriously give the guy a break i like what our offense is doing under him.

RE: Philbon is the goat for this loss!!
I really beleive that philbin is a good coach who will be a darn good coach but he has two obsticles , the first is Jeff (the worst gm in team history ) Ireland the other is the horible and piss poor excuse of a offensive coordinator.
you see Mike Sherman was fired at A&M and while there he virtually nuetered his qb's and he under acheived while in the big 12. I told you guys that Sherman was a clown and he has a reputation as a underacheiver .is he better then Dan Henning hell yea he is, however after today I dont think we can winwith him if he is going to call bad plays then we are not much better off.

Carpenter is a better kicker then most in the NFL and not many coaches would even trust their kicker to make a fieldgoal of that distance and would elect to take the field position.. He is in a funk but any pro kicker goes through it.He is in his prime and gets good distance on most of his kickoffs which is a marked improvement from where he used to. Olindo, Stoyanovich, They all are good kickers but they also missed some big kicks and 50 plus yarders. Yes He may have missed a few more then usual this year but i wouldn't be too hard on him.. YET

YET I gotta disagree. A 51 yard game winner is what distinguishes a winning team from a mediocre-bad team. We've been satisfied with mediocre play for so long we're starting to make excuses for it. We all know this team is missing a few pieces so with that said the ones who are supposed to our franchise players need to step up and perform. A 51 yard FG is NOT too much to ask of a NFL (supposed) Pro-Bowl caliber kicker.

Two costly turnovers came as a result of our interior OL not picking up a blitz in the a gap. One time, he didn't even have time to hand the ball off. The last INT came as a result of him getting hit while throwing the ball.

RE: Philbon is the goat for this loss!!
IMO, the fumble was not Thill's fault, he took two steps back and was assaulted, i mean he was nearly decapitated. The last int, even though he got hit as he threw it-should not have been thrown at all. His 1st int, Hartline fell down on a timing route so i dont hang that on Thill.

The last INT came as a result of him getting hit while throwing the ball. That would be run block, and on the 2nd one isn't that point of a Blitz is to send more attackers then defenders? Your harping on the OL when they did a great job against a very tough D. We scored the same amount of TD's that Ari allowed in the last 3 games, One more then Brady and the same amount of sacks. So I don't see were the OL is that bad, when does a qb throw for that many yards but has poor protection? Hartline is 1st in the league for rec yds, Bess is 18th, the top 5 guys have good to great OL but we don't???? Den, and NE are the only other teams w/ 2 Recs in the top 25 last I checked they both have a damn good OL's. Our OL ranks 13th in the league, up from 21 last yr. So how are they bad again? Cause of 1 play or 2? If you want to trash the OL, atleast pick a game that that doesn't evolve them playing the part of RTH breaking the rookie record for the Phins and 2nd most by a rookie league wise.

RE: Philbon is the goat for this loss!!
the whole world including us were convinced tannehill didnt stand a chance with our wrs and yet he gets better every week. Philbin is doing a good job. Sherman is doing a good job. Tannehill is doing a good job. Carpenter has a rep as a good fg kicker and has neved had a problem kicking fgs slightly over 50 yards and now he does and we (well some of us) are blaming philbin and or sherman. SMH...I love this site in the offseason but it gets frustrating during the season. We lost the last 2 hames for.a bunch of.different reasons Dan Carpenter has to take thr brunt of the blame though.
I HATE HEATH EVANS!

Naanee: the darling of OTA's
Hartline: appendectomy & calf injury - no offseason workouts.

It just seems like every game we give struggle with pass pro in the middle. It doesn't just show up with sacks but also hits, pressures and knockdowns. Judging passing yards isn't necessarily a good indication. Kolb threw for 300+ yards and was sacked 8 times. Either way, this shouldn't be a point of commentary after investing all of the high draft picks on that position. Maybe Im just steaming from another tough loss.

www.miamiherald.com/2012/10/02...te-picture.html Nice article. Also explains Thill's fumble on blitz was a missed assignment by Lane.
