Tired of Waiting Heres How this Draft Will Go !!!

Two quarterbacks drop after Clowney goes first to the Texans & Robinson goes to the Rams, there will be a record setting First Round in Trades. As the Fins come on the Clock & 19, the phone rings....Hickey screams at Lazor to answer it cause hes too shy & confused being his first draft, so Lazor picks up the Phone & its da Browns. Nineteen for 26 & 35 take it or not !
Lazor looks over @ Philbin & whispers what do you think, Philbin stares off into space as if his mind is somewhere else, so Lazor screams Back...Done deal !!

26- Shazier
35- Mosley
50- jace Amaro (after 3 TE's go before him)

After the second Round is over lazor asks Hickey what he thinks, Hickey replies "how the heck should I know ive never done this" then Lazor leans over & asks Joe, but Joe just glazes up into the Air. But atleast hes not fist pumping field goals. Hickey politely asks Lazor, didn't we firget OL, Lazor screams back I got it.

3. Tiny Richardson
4. Charles Simms RB WVA

Lazor calls Clev back and offers a fine backup to manziel in Mathew Moore for a 5th & 1mm dead cap hit for the FISH, Clev takes

5. Trei Turner G LSU
5. Halapio G

Hickey takes all the credit for a monstrous Draft & Philbin, well he just stares in the AIR & gives his routine, "We have to protect the ball better" response.

The Fins DC plugs Shazier in the weakside & Misi in the Strongside, rotates Ellerbe with Mosley in the Interior for an year while also allowing Mosley to play the weakside. Also the DC allows DJ full time work @ DE bouncing out Vernon the the Strongside OLB & the Defense turns into a Top 5 force.Trei turner the fastest OL @ the Combine turns into a Pro Bowl Interior Piece in three years. Amaro complements Clay

You guys think I got it RIGHT ....gotta believe

Id love to see shazier lined up behind wake on the weak side, we need a seam  red target checkdown guy to complement clay, & it would be fun to watch mosley take over the middle

Re: Tired of Waiting Heres How this Draft Will Go !!!

mikdo, we are desperate for OL help, especially another bookend at RT. There was a lot of underperformance last year at LB and WR and RB, mostly because guys didn't live up to their hefty price tags, but we are not desperate at those positions.

Also, there is a reason why 5-6 tackles are taken in the 1st round every year and only 1 MLB is taken in 1st rounds. The importance of the position.

Shazier and Mosley could be very good players in the NFL, but not only is it not at a position of importance, is not at a position of need with the Phins.  RT for the Phins = importance and need. Focus there

Pretty funny commentary Mik, not bad. as for the trade back I love the idea, I just don't think Cleveland will do it. IF they do and we get #26 and #35 and draft two LB's I will put my foot through whatever TV is available to me at the time!!! RT or perennial All Pro Guard, possibly TE best be the picks here. Yes, I'd like to see a MLB picked by the team but not with our #1. Fall back to 26 and pick Sua F'ilo to man your RG position, barring injury, for the next 10 years. We also have a glaring need at RT. I expect one of our first 3 picks to be someone to play there. So that means, in my mind with no trades back at all:

Rd 1: RT or G
Rd 2: MLB or RT or G (Whichever wasn't selected in the first round)
Rd 3: MLB or RT or G (Depending on the first two rounds)

Ok guys I understand your doubting my ability to see into the future

I also see your not showing any confidence in TINY Richardson selected in the 3rd to plug/play RT

But just keep one thing in mind-our LB play last year was really really bad
With a strong front four everyone ran against us
I don't really like SuaFilo, hes not a top tier G, certainly not worthy of 19
I expect lewan & martin to be gone by 19, Cyrus @ 19 u kidding, he looked horrible @ the combine

We cant miss on 19, no exclamation points needed

Our LB's were really really bad???? How bout the OL that gave up a record number of sacks?

The draft should be used to find players of need at positions of importance

OL is more of a need then MLB right now, AND RT is more of a position of importance then MLB.

My priority at 19 would be:

1: LT/RT Lewan
2: RT/OG Zach Martin
3: CB Justin Gilbert
4: DT Aaron Donald
5: Trade down
6: CB Dennard
7: OG Xavier Sua-Filo

If any of the top 3 dropped to 16-17 I would be willing to trade up and get em.

Re: Tired of Waiting Heres How this Draft Will Go !!!

Seriously Tour, you would give up a 2nd or 3rd to take martin or gilbert
If so, you just wiped out your whole draft by using the extra pick

Gilbert is no sure thing, he has the speed, but wasn't very productive in college
You would trade up for martin, starting to sound like Ireland

I respect Tour, but I kindly disagree, you have to draft BPA not need based

Watch some tape of ryan shazier, by the way, shazier is as fast as your Cornerback Gilbert that you would trade up for, and yes hes a linebacker, and imagine him behind wake on our weakside. Then watch tape of Gilbert, and tell me you would seriously trade up for gilbert.
Look @ Shazier vs Gilberts combine 40

Agreed. Our LB's were poor but our O-Line was historicaly bad. The team needs to focus on O-Line with multiple picks and with high picks. Like I said, 2 of the first 3 picks made by the team should be on O-linemen, with a focus on RT.  LB can come in round 3, 4 or 5. what I don't want to see is another D-Lineman drafted early. Or late. No d-linemen please.

Shazier ran a 4.36 @ the Ohio State Pro Day
Justin Gilbert ran a 4.37 @ the Combine

Id draft Shazier as a Corner before if trade up @ pick Gilbert

Lewan, Martin; Gilbet and Donald will be off the board.  Denard SHOULD be off the board.  Gilbert doesnt wanna hit anyone.  Unless you wear 21 with Sanders on the back, you better be a willing tackler.
I like S'ua-Filo, but I think he can be had in the 2nd.  Id take Moses at 19 but there is some doubt if he will be there at 19.  Getting the RT seems to be a little more difficult than the OG.  A good one can be had in the 2nd

Ryan Shazier is not a sure thing either? After the Dion Jordan debacle, remember he covered WR's in college, you want to base your first round pick on a guy who runs fast AGAIN!!!!

Gilbert is odds on favorite to be the top CB off the board and unless there is a miracle he won't sniff pick 14-15. Ryan Shazier is a very fast very small OLB prospect that is a late 1st early 2nd rounder and I wouldn't be surpised if he drops to the mid 2nd.

And a quick word on CJ Mosley. The Alabama defensive player mystic is starting to ring some truth. Every year Alabama has 2-3 LB's 2-3 DB's and 2-3 DLineman in the NFL draft. A handful in the 1st round, and not too many have made an impact. Why? I think part of it has to do with Saban being a defensive coach. These players leave college and they were coached up and hit their ceiling. Especially DB's which is Saban's speciality

Drafting a LB you are suggesting the Phins are drafting for need. I agree there is a need at LB, we disagree which need is greater OL or LB? We also disagree that Shazier or Mosely would be BPA at 19 or in the late 1st round. I wouldn't touch Mosely until the 2nd and Shazier until the 3rd, and after I would have exhausted efforts at other positoins.

And moving up 2-3 picks from 19 to 16-17 would probably cost a 4th rounder. For a starting RT, I would make that trade.

Re: Tired of Waiting Heres How this Draft Will Go !!!

Tour im not saying Mosley is a sure thing for a Pro Bowler, but he has a good chance to be a 3 down productive player. Watching Shazier Tape, id bet on him. Watching Gilbert Tape, remember CBs take a few years to learn the system, not many plug/play day one

I don't think DJ is a debacle. I think the fact that we traded up for him & gave up an early second was the debacle. The debacle was the two players @ 8 & the early second, or the opportunity cost of who we could have picked with the 3 pick. But as far as DJ, you saw how tentative Vernon was his first year, solai was all but written off as a failure, the they groove in. Ill bet Jordan grooves into the system nicely @ some point this year. That doesn't mean I would have made the pick @ 3, I would unwind that @ redraft if we could.

What IF Anthony Barr slipped to 19, would you pass on him

Unless he's an over-the-hill, gimp I don't know why Travelle Wharton hasn't already been signed. A seasoned vet, ranked 5th best guard by Pro Football Focus, no mental health issues.

His signing would allow more draft flexibility. IMO

Yes I would pass on Anthony Barr, Ryan Shazier and CJ Mosley. We have a roster full of LB's that aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I know we can rotate and situational this guy and move this guy here on 3rd and 10's in the 4th quarter and whatever, but too many warm bodies exist at LB to warrant drafting anymore on the 1st 2 days of the draft.
