Your prediction for Final Record

We're 3/4 of the way through the season and for once, we are relevant as it relates to the playoff picture.  We've certainly had some ups and some downs.  We've seen signs of improvement as well as some major disappointments.  We've won 3 out of our last 5. Conversely, we are 3-6 in our last 9 games with losses to Buf and TB.

My preseason prediction was centered around not being a homer and trying to be objective as possible.  Back then I predicted 9-7.   I have a hard time thinking we'll win 3 of our last 4 games, especially against Pit on the road and NE.

My gut tells me we will end up 8-8 beating Buf and NYJ while losing to Pit and NE.  But I'm going to be a homer and stick with my preseason prediction and go with 9-7.

So what say you?

Here's the preseason prediction thread in case you need a reference point:

RE: Your prediction for Final Record

Hopefully it's 3-1 or 4-0 and we show some progress, if we lose to Pittsburg I think it pretty much kills our playoff chances. If were going to win and have a decent shot in the playoffs we need to improve drastically, that's one of the biggest problems I have with this team is that it's not showing enough progress as a team, the other is emotion is has none.

Were definitely not the team I thought we would be at the beginning of the year, I had really hi hopes for this season. Coaching and a crummy O-line along with under achieving running back and run stopping D-line were very disappointing. I for one could live with Ireland, Philbin and even Coyle, I would like Sherman and most of the offensive coaches to go. I wouldn't be real disappointed if they all lost there job though. TE coach looks OK...

I see a football team with enough talent to be a playoff contender and it's just not living up to my expectations.

Looks like we will be 1 or 2 off of my 10-6 prediction. Though we could sweep and get there.

That was fun going back thru the original thread.   Looks like after Keller went down I came down to 8-8 but hoped for 9-7.   That's pretty much right where I'm standing today, as well.  8-8

Darn it, I started another thread about the playoffs picture before reading this one.

I originally said 10-6 earlier in the year, now I've revised downward to 9-7 and a GOOD shot at the post-season.

I also remember saying that the finale against the Jest would decide the playoff fates of at least two teams. Those two teams could be the Fins and the Ravens.

Isn't anyone worried if we finish strong then Ireland will save his job? Don't get me wrong, I always want the Dolphins to win but I'm not so sure I want them to have a successful last few games.. I'm ready for a complete over haul from Ireland to Philbin

Go Dolphins!

I think we have Richie to thank for Ireland being gone.

Anyone know how long RI is under contract for? My thinking is phins may finish his contract out this season and may not re-sign him for next year. If it's a 2 year contract to include next year, then what do we do? I as well think this has been completely blown out of proportion.

RE: Your prediction for Final Record

I said anything over 8-8 would be acceptable. Hoping for 10-6, but the 3-0 start, although it was really cool, did it create false hope? sort of, but injuries were a factor. Losing to the saints was not a given we kept it close and really competitive. But the way we lost a close game to the ravens was just pitiful. But the loss to the bills, especially coming off of a bye week break, really left a bad taste in my mouth. Kept it closer than I thought against the patties, beating the bingles was sweet and then turn around and lose to the bucs was just appalling. charger win was nice then losing to the panters geesh. We beat a really bad jet team and all of a sudden we've turned the corner hallelujah, not... not with the "we should beat a really bad bucs team" loss still stuck in our collective craw. Plain and simple we do not know which team will show up this coming week against the stealers. If we win (which I think we have a good chance to), then the pats, a home game and if our 12th man shows up and we endure the zebra's love for braidy, we might just sneak up and win this one. And the final two games although not givens could render us a 10-6 season. Still looking at a 9-7 8-8 season. That is of course if we finish strong. Another 7-9? is possible. I-M-O. We've lost the close ones and won the close ones by an average of 4 points.

Exactly. I was actually an Ireland supporter, but bringing (and keeping) Incog, and also drafting Martin knowing he was redflagged by multiple teams due to being a Puss, has done it for me. The only thing (even if we make playoffs) that saves Philbin was he wanted to cut Richie after the golf incident. Ireland kept him, and that will do him in.

So true ... this is the 'game" to decide it.

I'm rooting for us to win because I'm rooting for Tannehill to put 2 good games together.

This is where Tannehill must make a difference.

The loss against the Bills at home after the bye week was my favorite bad loss.
