the five most underrated players in team history ?

the five most underrated players in team history ?

am only doing this because  there were several players  who were not as productive  as other players due to coaching and the style of offense or defense that was used at the time.

these guys don't have to be superstars just players that you felt wasn't used enough or guys that just didn't get enough credit.

#1  I loved  watching  Rob Konrad because he was good at running and fairly good at catching the ball.

#2   Hunter Goodwin   man this cat was fun watching  him block people

#3   Bruce Hardy  I barely remember him  but what  saw from him was good  I just don't see much film on this guy so he made my list.

#4   Duriel  Harris  I loved how he made plays but  I don't think  we used him enough in the playoff games.

#5  Ferrell  Edmunds   I saw several games where he was on the bench  a lot  and his stay was short lived.

this  is only from what I saw  and is not based on how talented they were.

I 'm having trouble   remembering the wr's   and on defense  for some reason.

v I liked Konrad, Byars too although he wasn't really a Phin. There were alot of defensive guys who seem to have been forgotten too. Daryl Gardner, Jeff Cross, John Oferdahl. Jay Feidler is very underrated. He was a good leader and really kept this franchise relevant for a few years after Marino.

Tony Martin was the WR that got away we should have kept, guy turned into a perennial 1,000 yard reciever. We drafted him i believe and had him until 1992 and he was pretty much our deep threat reciever.

That is one guy who was underrated when he was here,  I also really liked olindo mare when he was here i know thats not too long ago but the guy had the most powerful leg ive seen in a fieldgoal kicker for us in his younger days. Guaranteed almost every time a touchback.

Jeff Cross was also one of my favorite players from the era i started watching football, Combination of both speed and power very good player..

He wasnt underrated. Just injured. He went out in one of the Buffalo playoff games (at Buff). We were staying ahead, until he went out. Then Dan couldnt keep up with the scoring. I would rate him 4th best MLB in team history (behind Nick B, AJ Duhe, and Zach), and he may have been the best except for injuries.

maybe you should put AJ Duhe up there because i don't even know who that guy is,  Offerhdahl now keep in mind i started watching football at maybe 1988 towards his later years but i was never really impressed, i never thought jeez offerdahl  a top MLB in the league.. he was good but not great like zach thomas, or even the level of production of brian cox.

JUST thought of my favorite underrated fins by the way and they were safety's,  Jarvis Williams was a damn hard hitter and you pair him with one of my favorite safety's Louis Oliver and that was one hard hitting tandem back there. I guess im a sucker for secondary work because Even though Troy Vincent got the headlines i thought J.B. Brown was a damn good CB.. Not really the  super int numbers to support but he was an excellent cover corner.

Sorry should have said Offerdahl was good, Not great like Zach thomas.  Personally i think ZT was a better MLB then  Ray Lewis who many refer to as the best, He may not have had the monster hits like Lewis but ZT was a superior reader of plays and was always in on the tackle first..

ZT Better than Ray Lewis????  Are you off your rocker????  Wow.  No one, and I mean no one, in the modern era of the game has played the MLB spot as well as Ray Lewis.  Not even close between him and ZT and I love ZT.

AJ Duhe was underrated.
Offerdahl was also extremely underrated.  He had no one around him at all!!!
Jeff Cross was underrated too.
Tony Nathan was amazing in my eyes, but underrated around the league
Jim Crash Jensen for being as versitile as he was.

Louis Oliver would be my pick for most OVERRATED ...

Gonzo, you did bring up one I forgot. Brian Cox. I would put him at #5 MLB all time for us. Seriously, you need to look up #77 AJ Duhe. 1st or 2nd rounder, rookie of the year in 75 or 76, one helluva player. Made picks, sacks, whatever we needed. And Zach was very good, but Offerdahl was like Robert Redford in "The Natural". When he wasnt injured and 100%, he was on it. And yes, I am 46, old as dust and have been watching the Fins since I was 8. I actually saw the snow plow game on TV live!

Louis Oliver and Bryan Cox were players I like as well .

I wonder if Keith Byars , Duriel Harris, OJ McDuffie , and Chris Chambers been enough weapons for Jay Feidler to have been more successful ?

Zach Thomas was awesome. But he did benefit from JJ's defense feeding him tackles. Now, I think he'd be great no matter where he went. But he wouldn't have nearly the amount of tackles.

Offerdahl was a GREAT player on a poor defensive team. The defense was cohesive with him in there. It would fall apart without him. He was EXTREMELY underrated. A full career would've proved it...

And here`s your proof Offerdahl was awesome (one of our top ILB`s ever). In only 6 years of play, he has made the honor roll. The 26th Fin to do so.
