Ross says sparano sucked

Pretty classless there steve, Especially when its debatable right now that Ireland should fit in the same box as sparano.

Ross blames Sparano for Dolphins dysfunction

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is clearly feeling good about things right now.

Not only was he crowing about getting a half-price deal on the third pick in the draft, now he’s blaming former coach Tony Sparano for the hard feelings that followed when Ross interviewed Jim Harbaugh while Sparano was still on the job.

During an interview with Dan Le Batard on 790 The Ticket, Ross said the grudge Sparano held “damaged the whole organization.”

“He could never put it behind him,” Ross said, via the Miami Herald. “I don’t think he was the right head coach for the Miami Dolphins. I didn’t hire him. We’re a much better organization today than then.”

Imagine that, Sparano didn’t play along while his boss interviewed someone to replace him while he was still working.

The nerve of that guy, not being happy about being cuckolded on the job.

Ross said he felt used as leverage by Harbaugh’s camp, and talked about the bad relationship between general manager Jeff Ireland and Sparano after word got out. He talked about the trust he had in Ireland, and said the team was heading in the right direction.

“This organization is functioning the best since the [Don] Shula days, [because] I picked the head coach with Jeff Ireland,” Ross said. “People see this organization is really on the uptick.”

Actually, what most people see is a franchise that hasn’t had a winning season since 2008, the year he bought the team. That’s when Sparano led the Dolphins to an 11-5 record, or 10 wins better than the year before.

But to Ross, apparently, the 27-37 record since then is clearly on par with Shula winning two Super Bowls.

Not surprised by the comments from Ross. His true colors are coming out. This is the classless idiot of an owner we must put up with. I wish he would sell the Dolphins!!

Go Dolphins!

RE: Ross says sparano sucked

About where the franchise is right now what was he supposed to say? "We sucked the last couple years, we really don't know what to expect next year but I feel good!" This certainly isn't good press but who disagrees with anything he said? Its funny how people like to ride both sides on things. Sparano sucked, his winning season was thanks to Pennington and his offensive cordinators "wildcat offense", and yeah Sparano has been called a whiny self defeated coach by more people than Ross. Ross should take credit for failing to fire him sooner and keep his mouth shut in the future because people really don't like you. Once again a winning season and or a playoff win will make people care less about Ross and his foolishness.

Ross is a moron. Yeah, you'd like to think that a HC would always give 100% no matter what. But it is universal that if you go out and interview a HC prospect when you still have one in place, you have created a LAME DUCK status. Ross created it, not Sparano. Period. He should shut his mouth. The past is the past. Shut up.

Chzamp bkanes Riss for allowing the team to get this bad, and for allowing Ireland to keep his jpb.
J defended Ireland for the Jordan pick and really liked the Taylor pick.  Then he fell asleep at the wheel.
I had my doubts about Ireland conducting this draft.   But then I saw what was going on early and liked it  We gave less in return to move up to 3 than we shoud have.  We didnt get pushed around by KC for Albert.  I was getting a lil proud of Ireland.  Now we have to HOPE JM doesnt struggle at LT again.

Eoss will never blame himself.  Ir was HIS doings that made FAs not want to come here.  Now we had to overspend to get talent.  Theres nothing worse than someone who thinks they can do anything just because they have money.

Stephen Ross...ur an assclown.
Sell the Dolphins immediately before you completely wreck this franchise.

Should I want to take a dump when looking at Mexican food, or only after I eat it?

Good PR move for Ross?  No.

Was Ross right?  Yes.  Sporano sucked.

However, I'd hope Ross has the common sense to understand why, after the Harbaugh fiasco, Sporano wasn't exactly running around with pom-poms in his hands being the #1 team player.

Then he shouldn't have taken the extension he should've quit. I think Ross was wrong for what he did, I think he should have fired Sparano long before he went to see Harbaugh but he didn't and if Sparano was so hurt by it he could have came out looking like a real man if he had told Ross to take his job and stuff it up his Arse.

They should have FIRED SPARANO then looked at Harbaugh. It was bushleague by Ross and Ireland.  Period.  Ross and Ireland created the lame duck coach and Ireland hired the buffoon to coach.  Sparano proved he wasn't a talent evaluator and a horrible head coach, but what was he given in terms of talent to work with? hmmmmmmm?   Ross is whining saying "It's Sparano's fault the team looked bad in that situation" No, no Stevie boy, you and the ginger looked plenty bad on your own with the midnight antics and hush hush private meetings.  Disgusting and to bring it up NOW???  What purpose does that serve?  He's been so good this off-season staying quiet, he should have continued.

Oh and by the way, if he'd have quit his job he would have lost whatever monie's he would have been owed for that last season before the extension.  Not a wise move financially.

Spot on Dante and lets emphasize....not only was Sparano a bad coach but he had little talent (no talent on offense) to work with and that is the fault of the front office.

I would have done the same thing, most employers never fire someone before they replace them.If you do,who you got to do the job?
