Dan the Man and Baby Mama

Posted: 1/31/2013 5:40 AM

Dan the Man and Baby Mama

ABC reporting early this morning that Marino has fathered a child outside of his marraige.

It was the first I heard of it, and not many details other than the statement above.

Looks like he took one for Ray Lewis. biggrin

No comment on the report, because quite honestly I really don't care and I'm really tired of this sort of stuff being news.  Media loves destroying people's lives and families for ratings I just don't get the point.

And it comes out Super Bowl weekend w/CBS airing the Super Bowl and of course he works for CBS. So the timing of this story is also evidence of how the tabloid media (which has really taken over all media outlets) operates. Quite tactical in when & how they choose to destroy.

Hey i still look up to Marino as a hero, The guy was instrumental in my love for football when i was a little kid.. Its so funny i remember when i was about 7 I asked my mom if she could trade my dad for dan marino, so we could throw the football in my pickup games.excited

That being said im willing to acknowledge he probably is a little sleazy, judging by this and other stories ive heard of him

It's a shame if it happened though.  I always thought he was a clean family guy.  It makes sense I suppose, with him being such a big star in South Beach but I just thought the guy was above all that.  Oh well.  Doesn't change my opinion of him as the greatest to ever wear the Aqua and Orange.

He has it knowledged and admitted fault and guilt In his actions. Another disgusting and To what I had presumed was a decent man.

Re: Dan the Man and Baby Mama

The New York Post broke a story today that revealed Dan Marino has a seven year old daughter with a woman he had an affair with. The legendary quarterback turned CBS analyst was approached by the paper and provided them with a statement.

“This is a personal and private matter,” Marino said. “I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together. And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”

Shocker...sports star cheats on wife and has a child. I have never heard anything good about Dan Marino's off field personality or his on field personality. The guy seems like a dick but that doesn't change the fact that he was a great qb. At least there aren't pictures of his junk (Brett Farve) going around the internet.

What really cracks me up is how many players in the NFL or NBA have 6 kids with 6 different women and 5 child support lawsuits but that's never news.

Re: Dan the Man and Baby Mama

The stories about Marino's personality are mixed: some love him and others do not.

He was and is the greatest QB in Dolphin history. And will always be admired for that.

If his indiscretions could be attributed to youthful ignorance, they could be accepted.

But when you're a football icon with a cultivated reputation as a family man and in your mid 40's banging other women, no excuses.

Now we know why he did not have the time to become our VP of Football Operations.

Feel a bit sorry for his wife now that it's out in the open..She more than likely already knew but it's different when it's pasted across the front page.

I couldn't agree more.  I hate the media, and try not to watch any news network.  They're all biased and report on some stupid stuff.

That being said the news about Marino doesn't surprise me too much.

Re: Dan the Man and Baby Mama

I would say that Dan Marino cheating on his wife has more to do with him hurting his reputation than the news media reporting on it.
