Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
Say what you want but Brandon Marshall could have really been a difference maker. Two 3rds is looking worse every day. He has 100+ rec, 1300 0+yds and 8-9 tds. Sad but we won't cash in on those picks.

Re: Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
I'm glad we got rid of Marshall but he certainly would have helped this year.
If we do any less than draft 2 WR/TE's with our top 5 picks then i think Ireland better be 5 for 5 with his picks or be gone.

Re: Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
Yes that Fasano catch was nice, but the problems in the red zone magnify the lack of playmaker issue.

Re: Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
The Fasano catch was lovely, but the pass had to be perfect. It was and Fasano made a gorgeous play on the ball. No playmakers means every throw RTH makes has to be near perfect. Marshall would still look good in a Dolphins Jersey but he wouldn't be putting up the numbers here that he is with Cutler.
Two 3rd round picks ... F M L ... Ireland, if he's buying the groceries, will screw those picks up like he has 95% of his picks since he's been in Miami.

This..... Looking back in the 4th quarter when he started airing it out more. The pass to Hartline in the endzone had to be spot on the money because he can't get separation and get over a CB. The pass to Bess deep had no hope because Bess is undersized and under speed. The pass to Moore could have been a little better, but he allowed Moore to make a play on the ball. It seems like he's constantly threading the needle rather than hitting guys that are open.

The guy is short and can't seem to jump at all. I don't know what his thought process was on that one yesterday, let me be behind the DB who by the way is leaping for the ball, while I will not jump and simply fall backwards with my hands up hoping the ball goes thru him.

Re: Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
I think we lost yesterday cuz of special teams, moore should of cuaght that ball. And the dager when Kap ran that big run shotout hopes of any comeback. We do need a WR and B marsh would of been nice this year. So would of Vontae Davis

Good to know some things never change.

Marshall didn't "flake out" in Miami until last season really - he kept quite for the most part throughout 2010 and most of 2011... also the Bears are in a position to make the playoffs and he's getting plenty of targets from his buddy Jay Cutler, so what does he really have to get upset about? It also upsets me that he had such better numbers in Denver and Chicago, but he also played in much better offenses that had better numbers all around in those years. Between the Henning-Sparano combination we were never able to really take advantage of his immense talent, although I don't think you can say 86 catches for 1014 yards or 81 catches for 1214 are anywhere close to "below average"

RE: Lack of playmaking receivers are killing us
Crazily enough his 1 td is enough to tie him for #1 among our wr's. It's only his 1st season in the league (1 on the p-squad) and he's gotten deep occasionally. Like Ireland said, we have the 4's 5's and 6's we just need to find more 4's 5's and 6's.
According to PFF, of every receiver who has played a snap this year 4 have actually done worse than him. That's positive right?
