Fagetaboutit

That is right Miami...Just forget about it.  Don't even think about it.  Its over.."PLAYOFFS"  I just hope we can win a game!  As I said.  It takes a long time to establish a winning attitude and this is a very young team that really has no Attitude yet!

I think 4-12 is a real possibility. Could 4-12 land the #2 pick in the draft?

I think that Thursday night could represent an all time low for Miami. The Dolphins take another beating on national TV.

LOL 4-12 nothing like taking it to the extreme, no were not getting the 2nd pick we will be lucky to pick in the top 10. 7-9 or even 8-8 are more realistic and picking somewhere between 12 and 20...

I dunno, I'm having a hard time seeing 3 or 4 wins in here. I could spot you 2 wins maybe.  Get one vs. Buffalo and maybe JAX (have we ever beaten JAX?).  But I'm just not seeing it vs. the rest of those teams.  Looks pretty ugly. I'll say 5-11 or 6-10.  Which is actually what I was shooting for at the beginning of the season, tbh.

Jacksonville is the only winnable game I see. I don't think I'm overreacting. Just calling it like I see it.

I for one hope we can go 4- 12 or 5- 11 because it never fails other teams that in Miami's spot are already getting better . I Am sick of getting the middle of the road picks unless we were winning and in the playoffs.

Could not agree less. We have enough deficiencies on this roster that there will be players who can help this team available to us in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds. It's a matter of picking the right guys with the best chance to succeed.

Quentin Coples, selected 16, has not been nearly as good as Chandler Jones, selected 21.
Malcolm Floyd and Kendall Wright, both taken in the 1st, have not had the impact of Stephen Hill and Alshon Jeffrey, both taken in the 2nd.

What is most important is establishing a winning culture, getting the guys to buy into Philbin's program, and really engraining a belief that this team can compete and win. How many top 5 picks have the Browns and Lions had over the past decade, and how good are they now? Football is about winning, not trying to get the highest draft pick in the next year.

If you want to install a winning culture you get rid of guys like Dansby who reported to camp 20 lbs over weight last season. biggrin

Re: Fagetaboutit

We have now lost 3 consecutive games and have not looked good in the last two...  Seattle is a tough play and with their passing game, they will eat up the Miami secondary all day.  I expect R. Wilson to throw for about 430 yards with two TD's.  Miami losses this 23-17.

I think we remain competitive the rest of the way and make progress.  We have been blown out twice this year.  I do not think that happens again.  We always play NE tough at a rival.  They win both but it will be a dogfight.  We could beat Buffalo and Jax..  5-11 is my season prediction

"I think we remain competitive the rest of the way and make progress"
... and finish 5 - 11?

That's one more win in the final 6 games and a worse record than last year.

Sorry but that's not my definition of progress.

New England and San Fransico will lay epic beat downs on the Dolphins. I'm going with 4-12.

Re: Fagetaboutit

IMO there's a slim chance we can beat the Seahawks, the Bills are a coin flip, and hopefully we should be able to beat the Henne-led Jags.

As for the Pats, I think we will lose one close game that we kick ourselves over and lose one blowout, just because that seems to happen every year. And the 49ers will probably kill us.

I see 6-10

Amen brother!   Well said!  Most people don't understand how a culture impacts players and performance.  It doesn't matter if it's a business, a group of friends or a football team.  If you have the wrong type of players, me-first, sh###y attitudes, low effort, lazy players, they influence the people around them.  They say that you will become like the 5 people you spend the most time with.  The same applies to a locker room.

i think if we look at the remaining games, obviously the game in Buffalo is an L.  the rest of the way I see it like this:

Seattle: Loss. Seattle is a very different team on the road than at home.  I think Miami can win this game if they keep Marshawn Lynch in control and don't turn the ball over. Seattle's passing attack?  Please, Russel Wilson is good, but he doesn't have a dynamic passing attack.  They pound you inside with Lynch but if the D can make Wilson throw, they win this game at home. I just don't think Miami can play turnover free against that Seattle secondary.

NE: Win.  Yes, I said it.  We play NE tough at home on a sunday.  If this were a primetime game I'd say NE wins easily but it's not.

49'ers: Loss.

Jaguars: Win.

Bills: Win

NE: Loss.

By my count this give's Miami a 7-9 record.  6-10 is a real possibility too.  Not great, but I wasn't expecting more than 4 wins this season.

Even when we were the #5 team in the AFC, I said I had no aspirations for the playoffs. But I'm also not the hysterical whiner like many here in this thread...

Re: Fagetaboutit

whew.......I'm looking pretty accurate in this NBFF respawned thread.  LOL biggrin

Was looking at 6-10          I don't see us beating New England, Buffalo maybe, but possible we do finish 6-10.  7-9 would be better than I expected.  Perfectly placed for yet another sucky year of mid-pack draft pick placement.  :)

Re: Fagetaboutit

Depending on who is seeded where, New England may play for a 4 seed and rest starters instead of playing for a 3 seed. As for the Buffalo game, I think Miami wins that pretty easily...
